Shanghai’s Jiangnan Shipyard, the world’s largest commercial shipyard considers naval vessels under 110,000 ton deadweight as small boats . It has built container ships, cruise ships of 240,000 ton, 220,000 ton deadweight respectively.
@TheOtakuPrince2 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about fully laden displacement or light weight displacement. Because as far as I know, ships in drydocks are often at light weight displacement, meaning no ballasts and no cargoes. And also no compliments. If the ship's lightweight displacement is at 200,000 tons, then that's one very large ship, larger than the largest ships. For example, the largest tanker vessel in history has a loaded displacement of 600,000 tons but only has 80,000 tons lightweight.

Need to understand the Chinese wages is much lower. About 1/4 of the US, British or Japanese wages. The Indian wage is about that of China but since they have to pay heavily for Western tech content , their cost will be much higher than the Chinese ship. No country can compete with China on the economics of scale. So it is not surprising that for one A. Burke, China can built four type 52D.

Hey bro, where are you getting stock footage of Chinese military? Doing a video on Chinese military parity with the US. Need stock footage. Thanks!
@EurasiaNaval Жыл бұрын
Hey Felix, if you are looking for images, the best place is the Sinodefenceforum - just google it. Certain users post very good images you can use for your videos (e.g. by78, ACuriousPLAFan), which you can search for on the threads that match your topic. Do search by user. If you are talking about video footages, I generally do searches on youtube to find Chinese language broadcasts. Most authorities' footages are safe to use, such as CGTN, PLA Navy, CCTV, CCTV+, etc. However, there is this one time I used CCTV footages that are direct broadcast (直播), and CCTV elected to issue a copyright claim on it - meaning there is no copyright infringement but I need to give up the ad revenue to CCTV as the legal owner of the footage. I got around the problem by editing out the part of the video showing the footage, which was fortunately not essential to the video. Anyway, to avoid this problem, I suggest you don't use CCTV footages that are direct broadcast (直播). If you use footages from regular channels, I highly suggest you apply mask to their watermarks if there are any, and use their footages sparingly and in piecemeal. This is to save you the trouble of either having your videos copyright claimed (i.e. no revenue) or copyright striked (even worse). This is unlikely in my experience, but better be safe than sorry.

The price tag on that ship is interesting. If correct then they HAD to cut corner, possibly corners they didn't even know were there. It’s just another warship. The type matters very little. Tactics, training and the number you can put to see is more relevant. If China can manufacture and equip these ship in numbers it can be a power shift in the region. China needs to avoid a conflict with the US until there is more than 50 of these at sea.😊
@saintjames6531 Жыл бұрын
Quality over quantity. Likely US solution to this is using long range stand of missiles launched from stealth aircraft as part of a focused saturation attack on one ship. Chinese ships will be seen in real-time from space through the heat signatures they emit. Paired with western submarine hunter killer pack formations to spread out Chinese ships and therefore mitigate missile defence. Highly unlikely we’ll see destroy versus destroyer scenario.
