Up-tiering killed the game for me, literally uninstalled it yesterday, when I was using my f4s I was playing with nothing but f4s and f14s, now that I have my f14 I haven’t seen a game without an f15e. I will say I’m not the best at the game, but it doesn’t help I NEVER play in my br, how can I get better at the game if every plane I’m playing against are considerably better then mine, I get 60 countermeasures these mf have like 400+ 😂

Last time I checked, it still stomps both the EFT and Rafale in speed retention and degrees per second. Speed retention is closer but the Gripen pulls like 5 degrees per second more than either one at any given speed under Mach.

The F-18 engine produces about 8000 kilograms of thrust. The gripen weighs about 7600kg in this configuration. That comes out to a thrust to weight of 1.05 when at a stand still. The gripen does not have high thrust to weight in real life. What you were probably seeing were videos of the E or the F variant which have improved engines but still only manage a thrust to weight of ~1.2

I've done some calculations of the Eurofighter vs F-15Es real world thrust to weight ratios... It's quite stark. Both aircraft have roughly the same endurance/range at max fuel, roughly 3900km reportedly. The inefficiency of the F-15Es engines really betrays it however, to achieve that maximum range of 3,900km she needs to load roughly 14,800kg of fuel on top of her 16,000kg empty weight - totalling 30,800kg roughly. Comparatively the Eurofighter only needs to load roughly 7400kg of fuel, plus her empty weight of 11,000kg - totalling 18,400kg. Eurofighter Typhoon has a TWR of roughly 1.67, measured when empty using afterburners. Without afterburners she has a TWR of roughly 1.11. With max fuel but without drag accounted for, her TWR with afterburners sits at roughly 1.0. Without afterburners her TWR sits at around 0.66. F-15E has a TWR of roughly 1.66, measured when empty using afterburners. Without afterburners she has a TWR of roughly 1.02. With max fuel but without drag accounted for, her TWR with afterburners sits at roughly 0.86. Without afterburners her TWR sits at around 0.53. At empty weight the Typhoon holds a slight edge, however at max fuel that difference is exacerbated. Do note that at maximum fuel, the F-15E should struggle more with drag. At max fuel the Eurofighter only needs added 3 small 1000L drop tanks, the rest of her fuel is carried internally. Comparatively the F-15E requires added 3 much larger 2000L drop tanks with greater drag, and her 2 conformal fuel tanks which though conformal - do still add drag.

@ eeeh to make a long story short the Gripen E is big with electric warfare so jamming etc but that isn’t modeled in game The big one for war thunder would be it’s got a better engine so it can super cruise and have better thrust to weight It gets more hardpoints and gets access to more (newer) missiles however they also aren’t in game same thing as with Eurofighterand rafale It gets an AESA radar, MAW, and if I remember correctly more built in countermeasures but don’t quote me on that The cockpit is also very advanced I’m obviously simplifying quite a lot here but it gets thrust to weight and top speed similar to the two planes we’re getting in game (I think it’s top speed is in the middle of EF and Rafale) combined with the incredibly low weight means it would be a very good dogfighter and not too unrealistic next to the others. Maybe the other canard bois would have to get some later variants first but the gripen E can carry any weapon the other two can

Irl the F-15E needs to carry so much fuel it drops the T/W to below that of the F-15C (the true top dog when it comes to T/W). Add to that, the conformal fuel tanks which can't be dropped do give it a not insignificant drag penalty.

f-15E Thrust is way way too high, those engines should only produce AT MAX 260kN if the upgraded engines are used. Eurofighter should also be at 180kN, but the gap should not be as large percentage wise.

Gaijin needs to either nerf the Eurofighters more or move the F-15E down by a full br. I didn't grind the US air tree, just to die to those every damn match. Even the F-16 can't do sh*t against those.

I am a USA main and in the video the F-15E literally beaten the EF in almost every single test, It's still the best plane in the entire game and it's better in BVR than the Eurofighter, it only loses in dogfights but it was the same situation before to other light fighters, so please quit whining and you give us USA mains a bad rap.

you know that the Eurofighters are better then the F15 und F16 irl right? Atleast in terms of dogfighting and air interception, what the air rb mode basically is. The F15 therefore is way better in A/G and longtime air to air engagements because it can carry more payload and can longer stay in the air. In Air Interception there are very few jets that can compete with the eurofighter
