Not all of America is a city either. Like my nearest grocery store is a Walmart 4 miles away on the other side of a river. Am I supposed to walk 8 miles to get and carry groceries for my entire family?

My eu country is very car centric so most nowadays don´t do it but before people would do it more, but we don´t do shopping for the whole month a lot of us go like 2-3 times a week. To give you context that´s the distance from my village to the city center and we have grocery stores closers than that. Germans tho they love walking so maybe they do it.

To be fair… I can agree with the egg thing. I know they don’t bleach the eggs. But it isn’t a different type of chicken. It’s a different way that the chickens live. And the brown eggs are in fact healthier. It’s a difference between chickens that are active and running about and being healthy as opposed to being stuck in a cage being fed grain and processed chicken food in order to be fatty. There is a huge difference in this and it’s shown by the dollar or two extra to buy the eggs that will fill you up quicker and if you eat them more often than the white ones you will gradually start to eat less.

It just matter how good is the person you meet, doesn't matter the country, they keep saying that Americans don't know Geography, i mean why you would need to know all the countries, when you can just learn the most important and basic ones? Plus if you go to Europe and ask peoples about others countries, i'm sure you'll meet many who won't know to name many either ,this is just mass missinformation... @@SuitedSkaterLionbasically every issue with america is at the hands of the government. they set the systems up in a way that makes american citizens completely incapable of supporting themselves on their own, while simultaneously pushing the narrative that everyone SHOULD be capable of supporting themselves on their own. in school, we are taught that unwavering obedience is rewarded, we are taught a whitewashed version of history that doesn't even skim the surface of our country's atrocities. we are taught no critical thinking skills, nothing about how to properly function in society, and nothing about how to sustain ourselves if need be. the government set up towns and cities for cars to be NECESSARY. they build grocery stores to make sure they can control what the public can eat. most american companies are owned by the same few big corporations, who basically control the country. the working class is pitted against each other by the genius (sarcasm) two party system with one side literally just wanting to return to the worship of rich white men, and the other side that disguises itself to advocate for human rights when it's really just a slightly longer road to the same end. i wish people could see that we are all human, regardless of your skin color, genitalia, gender identity, sexual preferences, religion, or anything else. we all feel pain, we all long to feel connected, we all just want to get by.

I live in Ireland and this is how I felt going through all 6 years of secondary education. Everyone there would needlessly and ruthlessly insult the USA and say some genuinely despicable stuff over whatever they could. But when it came to other countries, it was all jokes about their issues. In a nutshell, they cared too much about the USA and cared too little about every other nation. The worst part though was a substitute teacher from Italy came to teach an "ethics" class (which is basically philosphy and politics) and spent the entire lesson insulting the USA and saying all sorts of horrible stuff. Not just criticizing, but seriously insulting, and some of the things she said weren't even the correct truth, jusr surface-level knowledge, misunderstanding or conjecture. One American friend of mine dropped that class entirely after that because of how horrible it was.

@@elyenidacevedo1995 It WAS miserable. In fact, several people I know who are IRISH dropped the Ethics class because of it and similar incidents. And I wish I knew why because like, there's a time and place to discuss politics of the country someone is from. And the way that they would do it in my school was never constructive, insightful or anything (the only time it was when I, who was adopted by Americans, talked to the singular American teacher about it). Like, go on your hate train somewhere else. Why do it to a person from there unless they're spouting drivel (which none of the Americans at my school ever were)? I had a Chinese girl in my school's D&D club but no one ever went up to her and started insulting China and acting as if the government = the people. Due criticism is fine, and you don't have to like a country at all. But there's a time, place and a way to talk about it, and doing what my school did is not the way to do it. It solves nothing and no one comes away feeling anything except disdain.

As a European who's also lived in the US (family there), I've noticed it's low-key unconscious jealousy. Americans have it EXTREMELY easy when it comes to traveling to Europe, while entering the US even just for tourism is a lot more challenging, just as staying there and moving around without a car is. Europeans sh*t on Americans but spark up at any opportunity to travel there. Because they often can't travel there, and of course they're aware that most media comes from there, we try to feel superior by pointing out the flaws in American society (which of course exist). I think it's not entirely reasonable as our societies also have plenty of issues, but unlike Americans we don't like discussing them.

What do you mean by "they (Europeans) can't travel there (to the US)" and "entering the US for tourism is challenging"...Most Europeans can travel to the US without any issues. All we need is an ESTA, which takes 2 minutes to fill up online. It's actually easier for Europeans to travel around because we get a lot more paid vacation weeks and flights from Europe to the US are cheaper than those from the US to Europe (when your journey starts in the US, you will pay extra because of the way they set their prices). Sounds like you are from Ukraine, Russia, Romania, or something if you find it difficult to travel to the US, but for the rest of us Europeans, travelling to the US is extremely easy. I have a Slovak passport, and I go there every year. Never found it "challenging"

One reason it might be harder for Europeans to travel to America and actually “tour” and see things like Yellowstone, Wyoming etc the bigger tourist destinations would be you have to rent a car, be over the age of 25 to do that etc. It’s costly to rent a car.. US travel isn’t easy for foreigners like European travel is easy for US/Australian people.. although visiting cities like Chicago or NYC or Boston would be accessible for Europeans because you could tour those cities without a car.

1:34 The car thing always bothers me. I get it a lot because I’m originally from the US but currently live in the UK. People always make jokes about how I only have a car because I’m American and not used to walking or biking. Um, no. I have a car because I’m *disabled*. I can’t put a lot of pressure on my extremely feeble ankles and knees or walk for long periods of time without severe pain. Oh, and the reason I drive an automatic? Yeah, it’s not because I can’t drive manual (I can, learned how to when I was 17). It’s because my left ankle is _much_ worse than my right, so working the clutch is not only tedious, but it actually becomes painful after a while.

Literally Europeans miss the fact that quite a lot of Americans absolutely wish we had more robust public transit options! Especially in more rural areas, if you don't live in a major city then the bus schedules are so frustrating to deal with, especially if you don't live 3 blocks from the nearest bus stop. It's not like the average US citizen wanted for our country to become car-centric, that's the fault of major companies making the US car-centric. Before the advent of cars, our towns and cities used to actually be quite pedestrian-friendly

They couldn't get ALL the stops removed. 🙄

And we don’t need you guys to tell us our problems. Firstly, we’ve already heard it for the billionth time from one of you. It’s practically a meme at this point. Secondly, we were already busy discussing it amongst ourselves. Well, the things that actually matter anyway. So please, chill. Breathe. Relax. It’ll be ok. Same here🙋‍♀️! It’s mainly because so many of their talking points are over inconsequential stuff, things many have no control over, or just outright falsehoods. So many of the ‘complaints’ would be equivalent to xenophobia if it was towards any other group. Yet, since we’re Americans, we ‘deserve’ it😒. Several other commenters pointed out how at elementary school ages they’d be harassed over politics when overseas. How is a nine year old meant to understand why the government did something? After all, I used to want to travel to Europe so badly, but I’ve seen so many videos of Europeans making fun of Americans for stupid stuff (oftentimes the people aren’t even Americans). Either that or Americans actually trying to learn about the country and culture and being torn to shreds for it. It’s basically destroyed any desire I have to travel anywhere, and like you, I hate it since I’m a naturally curious person. The first Australian guy was objectively wrong about literally EVERYTHING he said, let me explain: (1) "why do you call petrol gas when it is literally a liquid" We call gasoline gasoline because that's what it is. Gasoline is not "petrol"(petroleum). Petroleum is unrefined, it's crude oil. Gasoline is a refined petroleum product. "Gas" as explained in the video is just an abbreviation of gasoline... But also your car is not burning liquid gasoline, it's burning gasoline vapors... a gaseous state of matter. (2) "You make up these niche sports which no one else plays and you call yourselves world champions" Which sport is that? Basketball? Football? Baseball? Lots of other countries play those sports and have professional leagues of their own for those sports. We're just the best at them. We don't need to isolate ourselves from the sporting world to be successful. We have the most Olympic medals and the most gold medals of any country in the world by a long shot. If you want to compare us to entire continents, or factor in a per capita basis, we still have way more medals than Europe when excluding USSR/Russia, and way more than Australia by any metric. (3) "Only 3 countries in the world use the Imperial system and coincidentally don't have their shit together" I don't fault him too much for this one(at least the measurement system part), most people including Americans don't realize that America does not use the Imperial system and never has used it. America has only ever used one nationalized system of measurements, the United States Customary system of measurements. It is a different system of measurements. For example the American foot is 0.3048m, while the Imperial foot is 0.9143m. The only similarities between the two came in 1959 with the international yard and pound agreement, in which Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States decided to agree on the length of, well, the yard and the pound. Outside of those two measurements even today Imperial and USC are not interchangeable. As for "not having our shit together," that's big talk from someone whose not the world's only super power. So yeah it's not even like a "bad take" thing from that guy, he's just wrong about literally everything lol.

@@rottencandy2675 Ehh that whole thing about “America didn’t hear about metric quick enough” is kinda misleading. The first iterations of “the” metric system(there has been numerous metric systems) came in 1832. Two decades prior America had to fight for it’s independence from European monarchies for the second time in less than 40 years, during the war of 1812. We were in a nation building phase and we wanted to create a national identity separate from those European monarchies. USC and metric happened to be created during the same year, 1832. So while we MIGHT have adopted metric had we known about it faster, I kinda doubt it. I think we still would’ve stuck with USC.

@@caitlingill Chicago isn't that far from the Indiana Illinois border. So his friends drive would have been 2 1/2 hours or something like that. There could be a lot of reasons his friend doesn't want to live in Illinois, especially Chicago. Could be laws, family, taxes, cost of living, quality of life etc. My husband is a construction worker. He could work anywhere from 30 min to 3 hrs away from our home depending on the job. It's honestly pretty normal to travel long distances for work or school.

So if his friend was insistent on not moving for whatever reason, it's not that much of a push. My husband would have to drive 3 hours for some jobs... So if his friend was taking care of a sick family member or something, the drive might be worth it. And maybe the program he was in for school wasn't available to him at a college that was closer.

Yeah, and a lot of us also have backyard chickens that y'know, just lay that color. My brother's pet Rhode Island Red and Barred Rocks (both classic American breeds) lay brown eggs as bog standard. That's just how they do so that's what we eat. 😂 Most industrial laying chickens these days actually usually have Italian leghorn blood and they lay white eggs. But previously the RIR was the big industrial layer and yep, brown eggs. Many traditional American chickens actually lay brown. Or if Amerucanas, even green or blue. 😂 So yeah, definitely we don't just have white eggs anymore than the rest of the world does.

While having to constantly be on alert for mountain lions/cougars, coyotes, rattlesnake, idiot drivers and mule deer which are much bigger compared to regular deer. They're similar to caribou in height and can be a bit mean depending on the time of year. Now if I was to walk to the nearest grocery store unfortunately that would be take about 6 hours with even more mountains just to get to the store, and would be 6 hours back the other way, so 12+ hours just to walk and get some groceries doesn't seem entirely worth it.
