Yes Nick, Tim is talking about having other interests as a CEO and he´s also talking about concentrating on your strength; picking the right thing and delegating. Having a start up, it's a 24/7 experience- so how much can you delegate? How much time can you have to practice Ju-jitsu or dance Salsa? Tim is a great entrepreneur but sometimes he makes things too easy but this is part of his pitch

Max King Max if you don't delegate things then you'll never grow beyond a one man show? None of these contradict each other. Have other interests so your personal worth isn't only tied to the success of your company. The time you spend on your business (which is NOT 24/7 or you'll burn out - see point #1), you focus on your strengths and the other tasks that need to get done to build the business that you're not good at, you delegate. You may not agree with Tim on things but he's pretty consistent in his advice and it's not contradictory. If you just don't agree with Tim or don't like him... well that's cool. #BTA11

I follow Tim and his Podcast, I like him. He came out with so many interesting things and I believe that the ways he promotes his contents is amazing. Then, eventually you read his books and you feel like this is a fairytale,Reality is much more complex , I'm a trainer and I read the 4 Hour Body. Some chapters were pretty good some others were a "little" exagerated. I found that is pretty difficult for people especially when they start a new business to think about something else and relax. but hey it's a great advice so why not follow it!

First, let me say that the Top 10 List format works great for your purpose. It keeps things succinct and actionable, while in the meantime acting as a safeguard that the information a given celebrity or icon puts forth is in keeping with his/her own philosophy. As far as Ferriss himself. . .I think he is obviously very intelligent, extraordinarily accomplished, focused and personable. A great writer as well. Conversely, as some have also pointed out, there is kind of a through-line that Ferriss tends to use that has the end result of making things seem easier than they really are. I am about halfway through The 4 Hour Workweek and already have some mixed feelings. It serves a great motivator to examine one's own life, but if you interpret its meaning literally, it leads to some frustration - after all, just how does one reconstruct his/her life along these lines FROM SCRATCH? The means cited for relegating income as something to no longer worry about take a decent amount of money and a not inconsiderable amount of time to put into action. Nonetheless, he is a great motivator and certainly makes one think.

#8 Be Pragmatically Pessimistic. When I was in high school my favorite teacher groaned and complained, "Ah, you guys are too cynical." To cover over a couple of missed assignment due dates I wrote The Politics of Cynicism (a rip off/riff on Abbie Hoffman's rip off/riff son of Marshall McLuhan). It must have been pretty good: My mother took offense at one page (that hadn't mentioned her), ripped it out and threw it away! In the end I concluded that the way ahead was to look for all the ways whatever it is can go wrong, don't think about the upside (you want to do it, the upside's built in already), just learn as much as you can about the downside. Once you've done that whatever outcome you get is likely to be pretty good. It's kind of worked for almost half a century.
