Amy said many times she had her little sister came home dressed as Brittney Spears. She was so made her copying someone so fake. She wrote the song. It's about people showing one thing in public (fake) but it wasn't who they really are.

Her sister was adopting her stile (I guess the post lady marmalade) and Amy criticized Christina openly (Christina also gave her a response that that was how she was, and was different from Amy). Years later the song was used to mock Britney during her mental breakdown and Amy said that Britney was having a very hard moment already like to use a song to make fun of her.

Everybody's Fool was the video that convinced me we'd see her become an Oscar winning actor in the future. I'm still waiting for that. I don't feel it about many singers, in fact the only other singer I really feel the same about is Florence Welch (Florance + the Machine). There's something just completely genuine about them when they're telling a story, they completely pull you into it. The mannerisms, the expressions, the belief in it, it all just combines to create a remarkable performance. If you've never seen Florence Welch acting in her videos I recommend it, I think you'll get what I mean.

Fun fact amys feet never touch the ground in this video because shes supposed to be a ghost, her ability to project emotion into her songs and videos is unparalleled. The combination of raw power and falsetto, She's truly one of a kind....I don't know if we'll ever see another amy lee in our lifetime

She was classically trained in piano not vocally. She's just naturally gifted vocally too, but of course she took some vocal lessons later to preserve her voice.

I loved your take on this. Quick note though- this version of "my immortal" is not the version on the original Fallen album, which only consisted of Amy and piano with strings. This was re-recorded to feature the rest of the band, and eventually added as a bonus track. I love the original Fallen version, but I definitely prefer this band version more. I still think you might enjoy listening to the original version, maybe on your own. Thanks for reacting! P.S. Lzzy Hale and Amy just recorded a live version of Halestorm's song "Break In" that was released Friday. I think you'd really enjoy the harmonies. It's amazing.

Yes!! I remember that. The original version of My Immortal was on their very first demo titled 'Origin'. Amy re-recorded a song or a few songs from the demo cd in 2016, 'Even in Death' being my personal favorite. And yes, Steven...you should definitely check out 'Break In', it's hauntingly beautiful!

You should definitely react to Within Temptation. They are co-headlining a European tour with Evanescence later in the year (postponed from last month). The albums Silent Force/Heart of Everything/Unforgiving/Hydra/Resist (ie the last 5 studio albums) are worth listening to at least.

Everybody's Fool is the ultimate breakdown song... When I was in school and even before I pushed myself to do so many things because it was expected of me and because I wanted to make everyone around me happy. I danced, sang, performed, worked on camera and off and nearly sold myself to please others. Before 16 I tried to kill myself because I couldn't deal with everything. I think that's why Everybody's Fool is my favourite song by Amy Lee, because I get it.

I definitely recommended checking out the version of this that's from her album "Synthesis". It's a collection of some of her songs that she redid with a full orchestra and is so beautiful. Even if you don't do a react video to it I strongly suggest listening to it, especially as you get more into her music catalogue.

Fallen is one of the best albums of no-metal ever made only surpassed by Sliknot, Korn and Likin park. I hope you react to “The Open Door” especially “Lithium” and “Call me when you’re sober” but “Evanescence” Album is a good one too “What you want” and “My heart is broken” also “Synthesis“ album with “hi-lo” and “Imperfection”

Ben Moody, John LeCompt and Rocky Gray formed another band years after leaving Evanescence. Lots of people say they were trying to rip off Evanescence and the sound definetely is very similar but I think it's just pretty great music. They're called We Are The Fallen. They only made one album called Tear The World Down. You should check it out

Generally speaking the musical arrangement and vocals are works of harmonic genius on the entire album fallen. The intervals that whoever was responsible for the arrangements vocal and instrumental did perfectly highlight the richness and amazing qualities of Amy's voice. I've been a huge fan ever of Fallen since it came out. One of my only loves post 2000.

Dude you were so spot on with the meaning behind Everybody's Fool and I've seen the music video so many times and didn't notice it was Amy til you pointed it out makes so much sense with how women are portrayed as in the industry definitely one of their meaningful and most popular songs. To me, this song represents the end of a relationship. She is now haunted by memories/dreams with her partner, where once he use to comfort her, now he haunts her. Near the end she sings, "although you're STILL with me, I've been alone all along". She knows her relationship with the one she loves is over. He is moving on without her.

The original version of this is a piano ballad. This is considered the ‘band version’ or the radio edit 😀 Also if you notice she doesn’t touch the ground nor does anyone see her, she’s meant to be the ‘ghost’ of the storyline. Could you please do reactions of Amy’s solo covers or solo works? My fave cover of hers is her English version of a Italian song called Love Exists or L'amore esiste, a song recorded by Italian singer Francesca Michielin. It’s such a beautiful and powerful song and Amy’s version show off her singing range.
