Underrated mention for redeemed villain is Accelerator who throughout the entire index series continues to make up for his morally unacceptable crimes. The vivid trauma he experiences for a majority of the series feels very real and his development is paced perfectly, I'd personally say he is right behind or tied with meruem in this aspect.

But not all of them can be destructive , they might get fall in one of your other villain types . So i think of aliens are just physic type not of behavioral type . this make me remember of an antagonist from a novel my friend writes. The villain is busted, alien and pure evil. he labels himself as “God” and have full control of fate, space and time. he also have the power to manipulate words in the novel apparently. he want to delete the universe, he can do it whenever he want but the protagonist just says that he’s going to stop him. The protagonist gets killed by one of the antagonist’s “toy” before he even gets to the antagonist place but seeing the protagonist adventure make the antagonist feel interested in the world that’s he’s about to destroy. he apologizes to the citizen of the world then leave (the protagonist still dying, poor him).

actually I don’t know if he is true evil or not, he has done ton of bad stuffs (raise earth temperature by 5 degrees Celsius, make the earth magnetic field randomly flicker making everyone get sunburn every time it flick… ect) they all are global and nothing is specify to one person (other than the protagonist) so I think he’s pure evil
