d forman i did its still creepy, i actually like this movie, the first part and second half. I dont need over the top characterizations, witty, one liners, a bunch of situational things happening and character goals and motivations none of that grabs me or holds me. sometimes people just want to be left alone. Im more interested if the story makes sense or not relative to the reality prrsentef that is what is engaging to me not thr type of character or emotional things. I honestly get into this movie more than the other mcu movies. though I haven't seen all of them. (Here are a list of things i find memorable from some mcu movies: Iron man immediate reaction to captain america knowing about his parents death. When ironman caught the bullet with the ironman hand. The first ironman escape scene. captain america throwing self onto grenade. The idea of an artificial ai bad guy surfing the web and hiding in the web. (but feel as if could be much better and imposing a threat.) I watched thor, captain america and spiderman but found hard to think of anything grabbing though I can remember scenes. I haven't seen winter soilder. i guess one thing from spider man is mary jane is the curly haired girl who seemed rather distant but observant. I like the change in character, she seems really chill, yet, intelligent enough to make me think she may suspect something about peter, and the fact that she draws people in hopeless situations or despair in detention. What type of character do one call this, anti social, reclusive...whatever, its alright. I havent seen black panther, or wonder woman...oh waits thats dceu... memorable things from man of steel is the speed at which they move, interrogation scene at military installation, not for conversation but how he casually broke of handcuffs and willing showed and stayed. Thats pretty much it. dark knight, the joker laugh but it might not be that best joker laugh. the chase scene, hit me hit me...havent seen the batman so cant say if there similarities, the video clip of joker with victims and message to gotham. random: sherlock holmes miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity, slow mo analyzation of beating enemies but at end struggles against someone who trained in martial arts and wouldve lost, the pentagram drawing scene getting into the mind of blockwood, gypsy set up, analyzation of the room at restraunt. In the hulks i liked the breathing training, isolation at the end and controlling the hulk, the entire fist fight scene, when he says leave me alone, the park fight, the sigh, the clap, the scene underneath the cave, even when sexual he can turn to hulk scene. Also when he is fighting against abomination and sighs this is where he is no longer angry, and doesnt really want to fight nearly as much as before. a sign of his gaining control, which in conjunction with the cave scene makes me feel as if it is really him and not the hulk when he turns since he can remember some things after and has dreams. I think he just gets overloaded and angry that his other traits go to the back ground for the most part, but not entirely, the hulk, seems rather inventive and quick thinking like on his feet much like banner. so he is an intelligent brute so to speak. regardless i like the idea that its really him just an altered him rather than a complete other being like scene in thor ragnorak.

It's so DULL, though. For me, it's down there with 'Iron Man 2', 'Thor 2', 'Ant-Man', & 'Doctor Strange' as one of the worst films of the MCU. It ain't bad, but it's really weak.
@Gyvulys6 жыл бұрын
+Guy R Personally, I think, that the "dull" part was the second half of the movie - when all the action started. The first half - Bruce moving from place to place, trying to gain control, experimenting, meeting the girl (forgot her name) - it actually was very interesting to me, more interesting than most today's superhero movies. Only similar experience I can think off is the first half of "Batman Begins".
@guyr36186 жыл бұрын
I agree that the first half of TIH is better than the second, but I still wouldn't call that half "good". The first half tries to be character-driven, but the problem is that the characters in it are just not deep and interesting enough to make that section engaging. I can think of PLENTY of superhero movies that did that kind of thing better - 'Batman Begins', as you said, but also 'Superman the movie', and 'Spider-Man 2', and 'Iron Man', and 'Thor'... And most of the MCU films since.
@LuxBellator926 жыл бұрын
This is actually one of my favourite films from the MCU overall. I don't understand why it garners so much hate. It's one of the more comic book accurate portrayals of a comic book character. It nails the duality and opposing nature of Bruce and Hulk, but also of how the two come to understand they need one another more than they first thought. Abomination is also one of the more terrifying villains the MCU has produced. He genuinely gives the Hulk a run for his money, and actually feels like he could have posed a greater threat to Earth overall if the Hulk hadn't been able to stop him. His power and own savagery is immense. That Blonsky/Abomination has never been used anywhere else in the MCU is criminal, in my opinion.

Really fits the tone of the movie, what with Bruce trying to regain control, trying to do the right thing while running awag from others. It gives me a bit of a Batman Begins vibe to it. I like Mark Ruffalo's Hulk, too. I think his Hulk really suits the tone of MCU/Avengers as a whole. I can't imagine Mark Ruffalo being in this movie (can't see him as a serious and brooding Bruce) just like how I can't see Norton's Hulk fitting into the MCU or being in Thor: Ragnarok (funny and fun Hulk).

For Age of Ultron at least I think most of the dislike isn't so much that people think it was a bad movie, just that it didn't meet the sky high expectations as the second Avengers movie. As for the first Captain America i think its just a weird blend of superhero movie and period piece, which isn't necessarily bad but is kind of off putting while not being so amazing as to get praise for being "different." To be fair though, I think most of the reaction I've heard to this movie is just that it seems to completely overlooked in the mcu universe rather than people not liking it. Sort of like, most people don't even know its part of the mcu so the automatic reaction is just, "oh didn't know about that one, must have been bad."
@EZ-IZZY19956 жыл бұрын
Neil Briggs The problem with the first Avenger is how rose colored it makes the 40s look as well as the inconsistent technology. The best part of that movie is the ending when Steves decisions are shown to have consequences. If it were just a tiny bit grittier like Saving Pvt. Ryan or even Band of Brothers, it could have been really really good.

While Ruffalo does a fine job as Banner and Hulk, I always loved Nortons version of both. The Hulk in this one is more of a force of nature, brutal and dangerous in his attempts to escape(him swatting away the bullets like flies as he runs is one of my favourite shots)and the whole campus fight is insanely crazy with how much destruction he causes and how easily he takes down the military. A deleted has Bruce talk to Betty about how it feels to be the Hulk. Its not that the lightning sounds like gunfire, but he's so sensitive to sound that it hurts him. Its like someone poured a liter of acid into his brain. Visuals and sounds are way more intense. Thats partially why the Stark sonic cannons were so damaging. Another fun thing I noticed, Bruce's mind does poke through in some moments(him using the metal pieces as a shield so he can take down the sonic cannons, him using a thunderclap to put out the fire and strategically beating Abomination by trapping him in the fissure and staying out of his reach to take him down.) Also, double the amount of wins on "Hulk smash!"please.

Hulks actually alot smarter then most versions give him credit for apparently he's either as smart or can tap into Bruce's intelligence he's just either over stimulated or doesn't want to So the way he fights Brute force initially then crude weaponry is simply him figuring things out

The thing I like most with the new version of the hulk is his stance and the way he moves or whatever. In earlier versions he was basically just a super big and super strong green human. Now you can clearly see in some (just a few really) scenes that his movements resembles those of a gorilla. Makes him look and feel more menacing and brutal to me... and also less human.

Thoroughly underrated. I don't really see any major flaws. I can understand Norton and the Studio parting ways over creative differences, but I don't actually see any downfall in the work that was put out here. I would go so far as to say it's great, as you can take it apart and put it back together and there aren't any extra pieces. I also like how it ties in with the Captain America Trilogy. Bruce was never working on a radiation protection like he was told, but a Super Soldier Serum, instead of Vita Rays, he got Gamma Rays, and since it was imperfect, he got an imperfect result. Which is why Blonsky basically became a Super Soldier after being injected with the same stuff. Also why when he got infused with the full treatment, he became twisted and ugly, just like Red Skull. The serum always brings out what's really in you.

3:08 Someone probably mentioned this already because this is a 2018 video, but regardless. Banner was at Favela da Rocinha, Rio de Janeiro (aka the only city aside Amazon that exists in Brazil, according to Hollywood), not at Boa Vista, Roraima, which is ~3500 Km in a straight line from his actual position. This makes 4800 not the number of leaps but roughly the miles traveled. So the math is: 4800 miles = 9600 leaps = 96000 seconds = 26,6 hours. Basically, double the distance, double the time, a fraction of incredible than "he crossed 7 countries jumping for 13 hours straight!".

yes yes yes! i think this movie gets unfairly maligned, it sold me into the franchise way more than the first iron man did (no offense to the first iron man of course, im just a banner fan at heart). possibly one of my favorite scenes that you didnt mention is of course the most heartbreaking: bruce's suicide attempt. it's mentioned in the first avengers movie in an incredibly moving way and yet that still does not do the scene justice. the score, the timing, the framing, oh boy does it hit hard, it's definitely one of the hardest hitting emotional scenes in the whole mcu for me
@poweredbymoonlight9869 Жыл бұрын
One of the deleted scenes to this movie had that suicidal scene Ruffalo's Bruce mentioned. It was ment to be an alternate opening scene but they cut it because they thought it would be a too shocking scene for people to take in. That was an immediate nod to that scene. He describes that scene from his perspective.

Honestly, all three hulk iterations had genuine strengths. Ang Lee’s was the least commercially successful, and I understand why, but there were so many fun and artistic choices, and it went hard and took genuine risks. I almost respect it more BECAUSE not every one of them worked. It seems like nowadays, studios really minimize risk taking. It makes for more palatable movies and I guess more money, but you end up with weaker stories. I do like this movie, even if it has some legit flaws, and I like Ang Lee’s Hulk. I think it has bigger flaws, but it has bigger risks and unique takes, and that makes me love it.
