Do you have links to the cam on the carburetor and other connections right there mine was broke when I got it and it’s hard to see what’s missing or how it went originally

Hello, I have a problem, after changing the water pump of my engine (Evinrude 8cv 2 stroke year 1987) I put the base back in place and the forward/reverse selector does absolutely nothing, still on neutral point... I tried rotating the driveshaft several times to different positions, but the selector still does not work. What is my problem, if you can help me as you have done several times before. Thank you. Jeans .

You have to remove the lower unit and inspect the connector shafts

@@BoatMotors Hello, thank you, I checked all that this morning and I had engaged the selector rod incorrectly, it's good, it works!!! Thanks to your videos, I tinker with my engine and I find myself repairing it. Gearbox oil seals + oil change with new oil, water pump, cylinder head gasket, thermostat + gasket, cleaning the carburetor + gaskets inside the carburetor, cleaning the spark plugs, it started on the third run, it runs like clockwork Switzerland...LOL . If I find a 15 HP Evinrude carburetor I would put it in place of the 8 HP one. It's perfect, I can't wait to try it with my Skiff SK14 that I built last winter. This will change me from the Honda BF 5 HP 4 stroke, it will fly over the Mediterranean Sea!!! Thank you very much for your advice and videos Boat Motors. Sincerely .

Hey thanks for all your videos, time and knowledge! I just got my first outboard a few months ago. '81 Evinrude 4.5 and I love it. I fixed the rewind starter, checked compression, replaced water pump, oil change, new spark plugs and just about done with the carburetor and have used many many of your videos for reference. Hey quick question, what are you using for solution in the ultrasonic cleaner? I went and got the same one you use and my results aren't quite as clean so I was wondering what you use. Thanks!

How important is the piece you put in at 12:21? I seem to be missing that
@BoatMotors4 ай бұрын
This is the air jet screen. The motor will work without the screen. It is good to have it.

@@BoatMotors thank you previous owner lost it. I was looking online and could not find any new ones. Any idea where to look.
@@BoatMotors oh they are all individually numbered parts i see. Mine is an 88 8hp Evinrude and it looks similar to yours in the video but I'm not sure if it's the exact one or not. Thanks

@@SkinE-Vadee-Veechee Do you have the choke installed in the carburetor or it is connected with fuel line on the left side?
@SkinE-Vadee-Veechee Жыл бұрын
@@BoatMotors It's installed into the carburetor on the bottom left side and the very back of the choke.
@SkinE-Vadee-Veechee Жыл бұрын
@@BoatMotors so just the carburetor is connected to the choke. The fuel line is connected to the pump. I replaced the fuel pump and the water pump as well as the spark plugs. It's a bit of a task to get it to run at all but if I use a drill on the flywheel it will start and run for a bit with a little throttle twist. It won't really idol and it looks wet around the gaskets of the carb. Maybe the float is stuck or it needs completely replaced but I've narrowed it down to a fuel issue I think.

What is the small rectangle with curved edges rubber piece the is placed in the bottom of the fuel bowl? What is its function? How does the shift linkage connect to the power head? Thanks

This is a gasket. Without the gasket the motor will work really bad
