He watched a construction worker drown in concrete cause he couldnt pull him out, when they explains this. Like Marcus makes it a goal to try and get everyone out alive cause of Dom's older brothers death. He blames every single one on himself. Its fucked.....

Bens reaction to Tai's death is a good yet sad symbol of his lingering innocence to the sights of war. Seeing someone whom he had fought side-by-side with, Tai being this badass and wise person, broken mentally beyond belief to the point where he can no longer bare the pain and proceeds to end his own life. Right in front of you. Having that perception of him being this unstoppable force, shattering and coming face-to-face with the sad realization that no one truly is unkillable, is difficult. Of course, he'd be in shock. I know a lot of us would be too.

I think people forget how honestly bad the Gears 1 writing was. It laid the groundwork for the series but I think that you can't ignore that the first had so many problems. Adressing what most people say with the remaster, you don't need a filter, certain things that characters did, or say that " the voice acting is bad" when it's the same from the original. The remaster did it's job well for what it was given and the same dread still exists, as RAAM is terrifying still and I much liked this design than that metal mohawk (No insult to the original design however). It definitely gave off that sense of destroyed beauty

Not locusts. Skorge personally tortured him. The locusts weren't enough to break him so Skorge stepped in n broke him by using his staff n cutting him all over his body as well as beating him to a pulp. Once the pain was too great tai just couldn't take it anymore n lost hope of some1 saving him by then the damage was done n Skorge knew so he just had him locked up n left on his pet n had the riftworm follow him(btw dizzy escaped cause tai told him to leave him. Seconds of fighting Skorge bested tai by whipping his lancer of his hands n kicked him to the ground n pinned him so that he can be captured by his troops)

What makes it harder is you can tell Dom was trying so hard to stay strong after losing Maria, but his willingness to sacrifice himself to save Marcus and the others isn't what people could see as suicide; it was the ultimate kind of sacrifice to protect what people he still loved and had in his life, even if it cost him his. And his legacy lives on with JD, given JD's full name is James Dominic Fenix.

Every character besides Reyana was good. Reyana was mediocore and not really emotional. The only thing important about her is that she's (apparently) the daughter of Queen Myrahh. With Tai, we only meet him on one mission, yes. But with Tai, he stays behind to fight Skorge. We don't know if he's dead or alive, but Carmine says that he is really tough so we think he lives. And he did. We find him in a locust holding cell, and find that he's been through hell. Marcus gives him a shotgun and we think he's gonna help us. Then we hear a shotgun being pumped and the next thing we know, Tai, a tough COG, one who's seen some shit, just suicides. Reyana, she cares for her people and she has a daughter....then she gets captured and we never see her again until the very end of the game. That's not a character. She's a plot device.

Damn I feel so bad every time I see Minh’s death like it’s up there with Dom’s imo. Such a good soldier but Raam had it out for him and stuck him like a pig in the end. Maybe his death wasn’t super impacting on the player in 06 Gears since he was only a teammate for a few chapters but after the Gears 3 dlc and knowing the character already, his death is just that much more impactful in the gow 1 remake. Especially with the way they redid the cutscene it’s brutal to watch

my opinion on all the deaths (chronological order): Alicia Valera: very sad, especially considering she was close with Kim, Barrick and Jace but i feel her death was necessary to motivate Jace into becoming a good Gear. Anthony Carmine: fairly sad but difficult to judge as we can't tell how long he served before he died Lt Kim: now that we know his history with Valera and RAAM...i feel this was a very instrumental and interesting death...originally it felt kind of meaningless and only served to put the focus on marcus. Tai Kaliso: i literally wanted to stop playing Gears when this happened, he was such a decent guy...but i learned to deal with it. Ben Carmine: This was unfortunate...but i kind of saw it coming. Maria: If you don't get why Tai killed himself...i think by the time you see this you will...so sad. Prescott: to be honest this just felt necessary...i was't overly sad about it. Sofia Hendrik: as a person who has never understood the big deal about people who go AWOL...this one pissed me off. Dom Santiago: I was always concerned why not many major characters were dying in Gears 3...and i had a nasty feeling one of the four main ones was dying...to be honest this was kind of predictable too. Adam Fenix: this felt like the final di$3 move IMO...but it certainly was sad. Anya Fenix: by this point i was like...why...just...why...hasn't Marcus suffered enough?
