Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

I understand why the Cottonwood had to go, but it would be mildly interesting to learn how big it would have eventually gotten with so much water available. One near where I grew up was measured at 70 feet. Amazingly for all the cottonwood seeds that came from it, I never remember seeing any new Cottonwood trees grow. The early pioneers were drawn to the huge cottonwood trees as they arrived in the Midwest prairies - a place to water their horses and rest in the shade.

The bigger they get the more lightning likes them. We had one well over 120 feet tall and had an eyewitness who claimed (RIP) it was a mere sapling when he debated hand sawing it down pre1910. Massive excavator project when it got fatally struck. 8 foot wide limbs 40 feet high. When the 2/3 of the tree hit the ground the operator said the trampoline effect jumped the 40k lb excavator off the ground. A lot of regret no one got pictures of it going down. I somewhere have pictures where it made a 1000 bu cart and 300 hp tractor look comically small. I have never seen another tree in the Midwest close to how big this fenceline weed got.

Only two kinds of people don't get chainsaws stuck, people who don't use saws and lairs. But most of us that use saws don't tell 257K subscribers we did it. FYI the price for a tooth under the pillow is $5, it was 25 cents when i was growing up. Increase in price due to inflation or Chinese tariffs. Enjoy you channel.

Is that Jim’s ditch? That was really flowing water. Nice fix & nice. way to deal with it. If you fill it in that will be a lot of dirt. Keep up the good work.

In my fathers' day, they would terrace the field down to the tracks to help prevent erosion and to maintain soil moisture. Today they will probably use a land plane.
