This podcast was so good! I too fell into the pharmaceutical spiral. I was obese, insulin resistant, PCOS, elevated cholesterol and glucose levels, acne, hair thinning, swelling and inflammation, migraines, and worsening anxiety. I work in healthcare and listened to my doctors. They had me on Ozempic, metformin, propranolol, Rizatriptan, birth control pills, ADHD and depression meds etc. I just got worse. I did lose weight on Ozempic but gained most of the weight back when taken off do to GI issues. Since then I have changed my diet, eliminating as much processed and harmful ingredients as possible, lift weight and do cardio 5 days a week and I am off all medications and have almost eliminated all symptoms entirely. My labs are all within normal range again as well. We do hold the power to change our lives!

I agree with some of what you’re saying, but I disagree with a lot of it as it pertains to Ozempic. I do not think that Ozempic should be prescribed to children but for me GLP 1 have been a godsend. I’m 66 years old and it’s been such a struggle to get my weight under control and this medication has helped me so much. I do agree wholeheartedly you must change your eating habits. You must focus on protein you must train all of that I agree with but to completely slam the medication that is helping so many people is wrong, please be careful with that.

@@MaryKoger-qt7dr Medications are hurting people not helping them in 100% of the cases. Medications (I'm talking factory made synthetic pharma products) simply suppress symptoms of disease, so on the surface it seems like the person is doing better. Fast forward a few months or years and that same person is more diseased and suffering more. Not only has that person not addressed the root cause of their disease from a body-friendly natural perspective, but the toxic load from the medications have caused further disfunction in their body by slowly poisoning their blood, liver and other vital organs.

I think it’s a bit over the top to say that doctors just prescribe medication without advice about diet/exercise. I work in a medical/chiropractic clinic (my brother is the DO) and they ALWAYS tell patients what diet/exercise changes they need to adopt in order to treat their diagnosis. But patients often need help NOW which is where the medication comes in while the patients are supposed to be improving their lifestyle. When working with obese/morbidly obese patients, it can take a long time of diet/exercise to help hbp/diabetes which can be deadly and need addressed quickly. Most doctors aren’t evil and DO understand how diet/exercise works. Most doctors DO advise correctly. It’s in the patients hands to implement.

I also want to add that my brother only prescribes when absolutely needed and takes patients off of medication when it’s no longer needed… the narrative that doctors just throw meds down patients throats is simply not true.
