I discovered this a while ago. That by holding your breath you can de - age or prolong your lifespan. It’s so strange/ I used to since grade 3 when we moved to a new place closing yourself in the bathroom and would play this game sometimes for hours Would inhale and kept my breath for as long as possible Had a watch sometimes I hold it more than 4 minutes I don’t know y I was doing that. One time I was counting ( often ) in my head and I went to almost 1000 and almost died. Just wanted to stop but couldn’t catch the breath Was clogged in panic / such scary experience Finally I did it Was breathing so fast promising myself that I will never do that Children have crazy ideas Guess what- I started doing this but never kept it for such a long time 🙈

Also, ultimately what matters for the illusion of "age" is your presence , not the breath , the mind follows the breath that's why it is not beneficial to breathe fast and shallow , but if you can stay present in the now no matter what , it wont matter how you breathe,your presence in the now is what determines how much time you are creating in your experience,though presence usually also slows your breathing automatically

Thank you for the videos! Question: If elongating the breath can lengthen lifespan, then does the fire breath shorten lifespan by increasing the number of breaths per minute?
@TheSchoolofBreath5 ай бұрын
Yes, it does. This is why we recommend 3 to 5 minutes max. However, doing the breath of fire or bhasrika pranayama relaxes and rewires your nervous system resulting in slow, long deep breaths throughout the day which more than compensates for the short breath. It's like giving a kick start to your car for smooth performance. Please keep us updated on your weekly results to see if the breathing has slowed down overall Hope this answers your questions. Sending much love and blessings. Cheers Abhi

I also notice while meditating I do notice I stop breathing kinda like when I fall asleep I find myself not breathing. Can you give some insight into this? I felt I wasn't breathing deep enough especially when I was stressed. I would do a double sigh which I don't notice but others do and I've gotten in trouble by customers complaining.

@TheSchoolofBreath6 ай бұрын
Yes, very important to age gracefully both mentally and physically. Therefore, it's important to create a daily practice of pranayama. For example, alternate nostril breathing helps upgrade your memory and Brahmari pranayama has profound impact on mental disorders. Sending blessings Abhi ❤️

Why does holding my root chakra give me anxiety sometimes ? Unpleasant
@jzkramer6 ай бұрын
The unpalatable truth is that in this material plane we cannot extend our life beyond the years that God allots us at birth. Ask any Guru who has attained Nirvilkalpa Samadhi if this is true. We can clear karma, improve vitality, and gain wisdom, which are the reasons why we should practice Kriya.

Then how do we explain athletes eg milka singh
@TheSchoolofBreath6 ай бұрын
Rigorous exercises like running and swimming etc increase our heart rate and breathing frequency, which initially stimulates the sympathetic nervous system - the part responsible for our 'fight or flight' response. However, this is followed by a significant activation of the parasympathetic nervous system, our body's 'rest and digest' state, once the exercise is complete. This results in an overall reduction in stress levels, improved mood, and a slower, more relaxed breathing pattern. Blessings 🙏 Abhi

What about runners 1:58
@TheSchoolofBreath2 ай бұрын
Runners don't particularly live longer. If they're doing sprints, they might be consuming a lot of rats in that 10 minutes. However, this would bring about a lot of benefits in their slow breathing throughout the whole day, which will more than compensate for that 10 minutes . For marathon runners The average age from a survey done on 200 people was approximately 70 years. It would be fascinating to do our research on a select group. However, these surveys take lifetimes. Cheers Abhi ❤️🙏

So practicing Kapalbhati lets me die earlier? I practice Kapalbhati everyday.... Hm. Adding to this, my spirit tells me that the moment of my physical passage is written in my book fo Karma.
@TheSchoolofBreath6 ай бұрын
Kapalbhati pranayama, when performed for about 5 minutes daily, can be incredibly rejuvenating for both the mind and body. Let me elaborate on why this duration is recommended and how it ties into the broader philosophy of yoga and our life's journey.. Yogic texts and masters advise a practice duration of 3 to 6 minutes for Kapalbhati. This guideline is rooted in the technique's dynamic nature-akin to the initial surge of energy required to start an engine, where more fuel is consumed. Kapalbhati pranayama acts as a catalyst, invigorating the body by enhancing oxygen flow and expelling toxins with vigor. However, the practice of kapalbhathi has a calming effect on the mind and body and subsequently, leads to a naturally slower and deeper breathing pattern throughout the day. (which more that overcompensates for the faster breathing during the practice). We also agree that your physical passage is dependent on your karma and this is why everyone has been given limited breaths depending on your karma. Hope this explains it. Much love and blessings Cheers Abhi
