I just want to say that I saw Rebels before TCW and it all did make sense. Did I know who everyone was? No, but their characters were all explained to make it easy to follow without the extra context although I do think that TCW does add to the story.

Yea he punishes them when need be but he doesn’t enjoy murdering people. I would even say he and Ezra are really similar but there methods differ. Thrawn would burn a world to save the Chiss while Ezra would search another way to save Lothal

You could even use that for the OT and PT. The PT deconstructs the Jedi and reconstructs the Sith while the OT reconstructs the Jedi and deconstructs the Sith

Somewhat. The OT was more of a thesis, where the PT was an antithesis. . Our main protagonist Luke certainly learned about the ways of the Force, the values of what a Jedi stand for, and the dangers of the Dark side. But we were never shown any evidence to indicate that Luke was aware of how flawed and hypocritical the Jedi were in the past. Not even the villains bring this up so there was never a topic of debate on whether or not the Jedi are worth returning in the first 6 films. That is until the ST came along and explored this with Luke himself with this internal struggle before redefining what it means to be a Jedi and a hero. The ST is essentially the synthesis to this nine part story.

Rebels is the Original Trilogy to The Clone Wars being the Prequel Trilogy, while both tie heavily to each other, they each have their own Story and set of Characters, but one also continues the story of the other's Characters. Both The Clone Wars and the Prequels showed the Worse of the Jedi and what they became, while both Rebels and the Original Trilogy showed the best of the Jedi and what they should be

I grew up on the prequels, watched all of clone wars and felt kinda neutral about Star Wars. I thought it was cool but I didn’t love it… until I watched Rebels. I acknowledge that CW had better arcs, but Rebels is still more special to me. Unlike the CW, we spent almost all our time with the same 6 characters and become really attached. That Death hit be harder than any other SW death and I even had it spoiled for me. I love Mando, but Sabine as Mand'alor all the way

I love Clone Wars, but I also love Rebels, it's okay to love both and it's also okay to love Rebels more than Clone Wars. I wish more people would watch it, but sometimes it gets overlooked because of the animation, but the animation doesn't bother me. The only time the animation has ever bothered me in the Star Wars animated tv shows is Star Wars Resistance, man I wish that show was better!

I love Rebels and I love Ezra. I personally wtched Rebels without even knowing abut TCW show and it was still enjoyable and understandable, I fell in love with Ahsoka and Rex as much as the rest of the ghost crew despite being ignoratn of their personal journey. So TCW i not needed to understand and enjoy Rebels, but it does add to other characters. I simply can't wait for the Ahsoka show and see what happened with Ezra and Thrawne after the jump ant the end.

I'm just hoping for the thematic sequel to Clone Wars and Rebels. The animated show was rumored to take place between 6 and 7, it would be about the search for Ezra and it would fill in the gaps between 6 and 7. It sounds like it got scrapped for the live action TV shows taking place around that time but you never know it could still happen. I still have hope

@@thegoldman25 It could be all of the continued stories of the TCW and Rebels but set in the era between 6 and 7. Honestly I could see like a Thrawn Wars type of thing going on around that time and characters from Rebels, TCW (who ever is still alive from that time like Rex and Ashoka) and maybe some of OT characters trying to stop the conflict and eventually whatever happens leads to the events of the sequel trilogy. Then it's like poetry in a way with Ezra training Jacen and Ashoka help guide Luke. It's like everything comes full circle. Obviously there would be a lot more to the show but thats what I thought the new animated show that they announced after Rebels was going to be about but it seems they scrapped whatever ideas they had and are going to do the Mando shows.

I love rebels so much, I dunno if I like it more than TCW but I love it all the same. kanan is my favorite jedi and I think he is what the jedi should have been. I even think that the world between worlds should have been the location for the final battle in the rise of skywalker as its the ultimate nostalgia and would have been a good ending to the skywalker saga.

I've made this comparison way too many times. In both cases I actually watched the sequel series )when both finished season 2) before the original, hence I'm more attached to the sequels. It's interesting because I'm also aware of the absolute hell the production was, so I see them as successes despite their differences and not as extensions of the original. This disregards how I feel about the Ahsoka series.

I actually rewatched rebels in the last two weeks. I admit, when it aired I kinda liked some of it, but mostly not. I didn't really like Ezra, he was annoying, stubborn and naive and I just disliked it. I've grown in the meantime and understand the character more. Rewatching Rebels was definitely worth it. It's such a great show and truly underestimated.
