To me it says a lot that TK chose to fire him, and talk publicly about it, right before these shows. TK has bent backwards to keep quiet and keep Punk. For me that says that whatever events actually happened had to be bad. Think of how harmful making the move is to the company. Harms two Chicago shows, may tank a PPV, and risks a show that was built for him to anchor it. That says a lot about whatever happened to me but I doubt we will ever truly know. But it seems like this was the only move with all the issues that keep occurring since he came back. Really sucks how this thing went with how positive it began

CM Punk was always going to be a volatile person in the organization. I think Tony Khan believed that they could work together, and for a while it appeared to be the case. However, CM punk is not a good culture fit for AEW. He may not be a good culture fit for any major wrestling company. Perhaps he should have been wrestling the last 7 years, and learn to work with all these younger, up and coming talents. But his temperament, apparent anger management issues, and inability to process setbacks, at least publicly, just cost him his best job of the last 5 years.

The saddest part about all this is that there are still fans that are in denial about this whole situation. 2 years ago it was the greatest return in the history of wrestling probably when he showed up in AEW.
