I live in the Midwest. In my location is near to impossible to find the ingredients, so substitution is a must, my late father, who was born in Villaviciosa would dish approve me calling what I cooked last night Fabada Asturiana; but I am telling you, even without the right ingredients it smells very close to it. Just stored some for the week and reserve a portion for lunch or dinner today. I would let you know, when I eat it what exactly my substitution list was. Thanks for sharing. Gracias ho!

Made this for the family, it was as delicious as I'd hoped! Thank you for the English language video, as my Spanish is not quite strong enough to follow a Spanish-language one!

Perfect recipe. Thank you. I use canned beens which I added to the end and some veggie stock cubes + bay leaves. Good stuff 👍.

Hi Victor, I bought a vacuum packed "fabada kit" on a recent visit to Asturias but did not know the recipe. You have provided the answer! Muchas gracias. I tried the dish in a refugio high in the Picos next to the Naranja de Bulnes and it was so delicious I bought my "kit" to remind me of my holiday in that beautiful place.

@Robtube, I did the same thing! Bought 3 kits (2 as gifts). ;)

If you make it and don't eat all of them, the next day (or couple of days) you can add potatoes and cabbage to the stew, it's another asturian dish called Pote Asturiano.

Where can we source the faba beans? Is it seasonal (because it is difficult to find)?

Are you using faba beans or great northern beans?
@spanishcooking94933 жыл бұрын
Hi! I would go for great northern beans. Hope you try this out!

@@spanishcooking9493 I tried my best to find fava beans but what I got were some haba beans that fell apart.... I got some fresh faba beans and I'm hoping these will work better.
@spanishcooking94933 жыл бұрын
@@mro3072 I'm not familiar with the distinction in English, but I looked on the internet and I think faba beans are not what you need. I would go for white frijoles or great northern beans. Something that is dry and needs soaking.

He's imitating American accent to be understood. American accent does that. They raise the tone at the end of some sentences even if they're not questions.
