200 speed cruiser is like frigate, really easy to kite everything when you move 2x the speed of enemy

Agressive officers are, well more agressive problem is ai uses prox charges as pd weapon and doesnt spam them enough

@@Kuba_K exactly. The game I'm playing now I got the IV Oddessy, and I covered it in burst pd. 0.6 Flux per damage. The cryosleeper guardian didn't stand a chance... snuck behind him and ripped his engine out with those suckers. I don't even waste my time with shields against trash fleets or remnants, just plow into them with the plasma jets and watch the lightshow.

@@bigbrainenergyguy tried it, ai just misses half of shots, and it attacks missiles and fighters, still can take out simulation aurora and 2 enforcers reliably though

Ove to see if this build can still be made viable in the current build. The s-mod penalty seems to hurt a bit but then again: you don't necessarily have worry too much about the DPS on Proximity Launchers as it is.

PCLs are comparable to heavy blasters because they have the same fire rate and base damage (albeit a different damage type, but still 2 heavy blasters worth of shield dps) not to mention they delete fighter wings faster than omen spam edit: forgot that the missile skill increases fire rate and damage so they can be even better

Proximity Charge is anti everything in its blast radius. [Redacted] Bomber use it as anti-ship weapon It is quite slow so you wouldn't get best result with 1 or 2 launchers, you need something like this, 4 med missile slots, to properly use it.

I quite like the build. I myself havent played much with the charge launcher but doesnt ECCM package also affect the bombs? wouldnt that be a good mod for it?

You can just put Burst Pd to deal with with those pesky Frigate and fighters. Drop automated repair as you get elite skill for repair and drop cap by 4. You get powerful close range burst damage to deal with anything.

nah, prox charges will deal with them fine, i need automated repair unit, because as soon as you lose engines/weapons it is really easy to get encircled, so for solo fight it is important

Is that a Kingfisher in your fleet? I'm surprised you're choosing a Falcon over it as your flagship, the Kingfisher can fill a similar fleet role (fast and aggressive close-combat cruiser) but it doesn't die instantly from overextending. The one thing I hate about the Kingfisher is where the missile mounts are. Though side-mounted autofiring reapers actually are viable if you like flying into the middle of enemy formations.

Ai handles that one neatly, especially with tachyon lance and needlers combo. I would argue Falcon is a little tankier cause firepower doesnt depend on flux level.

Seems odd... maybe a little unbalanced. An anti-fighter missile doing that much damage to any ship class Frigate and up? I would never have even considered this.

@@Kuba_K But the damage should be proportional to the weapon type. It's like using hand grenades on a tank vs an RPG. I guess this is true of all point defense weapons in this game. They all have this problem. Makes me wonder if they will be better balanced in future patches.

It's likely intentional, it used to be just anti fighter mines, but last patch significantly buffed mines speed and health with notes suggesting it's meant to be offensive oriented
