Many thanks for the upload. This looks to be a great knife that is large enough to baton and for general all round use in camp building, and seems to be pretty well finished. I will when I have time go to their site and check, but can you tell me is the stacked leather handle and whatever else is in it to make the two matching patterned areas, is just plain hide burnished to a nice polish, or has it got a Polyurethane coating? one go about taking care, the do’s and do-not’s of what can be used on the leather. For instance I have eczema so there will always be a greasy oily grip if I had this, is that good or bad? Take care. mrbluenun

Hey Bob, I've never used or held any Fallkniven knives before, but I was thinking of buying maybe the NL Odin or the Thor. I like both of these large knives but do you think one of them is particularly better than the other for outdoors use? Also, do you know much about Mercworx knives (the Sniper and the Equatorian model in particular)? And if so, what do you think of them? They're around the same $400-$500 price mark as the Fallknivens but I can't seem to find much info out there about them.

No special care needed for the handle. As for the blade, just dry it after use and don't store in the sheath wet. Medicated cream won't hurt the knife any, but if you always have greasy cream on your hands it would make the knife slippery. Then again, it would probably have that effect on any knife.
