They're threatened. Simple as that. You're the most relevant critic in music and you did all by yourself no corporate backing or anything. They have to feel some type of way.
@DannyJudasDev7 жыл бұрын
Wikipedia is 'threatened' by new media. They want to be a legitimate and credible source, new media is not treated as such. They try to associate specifically with hard publications because they feel that it legitimizes them. When Wikipedia users use other pieces of new media as a source, it distances them from hard publications. Thus they are 'threatened'. Now, why a site everyone has already written off has 'not terribly credible' is so worried about these appearances, I have no idea.

Notability =/= professionalism. I'm all for Fantano being considered a professional critic here, but that's just not a good argument. Countless popular conspiracy theorists and lunatics have a Wikipedia page, after all. Having notability just doesn't make you a good source.

Justin Reid That's where I think the big distinction is between the moderators and actual, normal people. It's not like Wikipedia is printed and has to be selective with who they include for cost reasons. Just because Anthony gives irregular scores, that doesn't mean he's not reviewing the music. He gives irregular scores because his opinion is more complicated than 1-10. Giving music a number sacrifices the opinion for simplicity, and, in doing so, leads to unfair comparisons. I mean, you can literally read these comments for examples of that (damn vs Wikipedia). Most people couldn't honestly say he's not a music reviewer. They're just refusing his page because he's not their specific definition of what a music reviewer should be. Wikipedia mods are just being overly pedantic in their futile quest to be seen as some kind of legitimate source.

So in order to be respected he must enjoy an album as much as the average critic cited on Wikipedia?
I don't see how being comedic at times is a criteria for not being included in Wikipedia articles. I edited the Boyhood article's part on negative reaction to include Red Letter Media's critique they had in that one bit in their half in the bag Oscars episode where they go "IT TOOK TWELVE YEARS TO MAKE" and deliver criticism through a humorous skit, as well as a phrase mentioning the whole episode dedicated to the movie. I just checked, and it's been there for weeks, with only that last phrase being removed, for reasons of inadequate elaboration or something, I guess? So the fact that once in a blue moon you put on a sweater and a fake moustache should not be a valid reason to exclude you from Wikipedia.
