Tokyo Drift is the only one of the movies to actually focus on street racing, so it really does baffle me that so many people hate on it, and complain that the movies aren't about street racing anymore. The first 2 have street racing in them, but they're not the focus of the story. The first one was about Paul Walker trying to figure out who's stealing electronics, and the second one was about him trying to take down a drug lord. Both had street racing as back-drops, but they weren't the focus of the stories.... Tokyo Drift actually is ABOUT street racing; the main character has to actually race to solve his problem..... Personally, I'm glad the series ditched street racing, because it was too niche of a genre. By going the action route, you attract a bigger audience. Also, how the fuck many movies can you have that focus on street racing? 3 movies in, you know they can supe up cars and win races. There's no tension in it. As ridiculous as it is, it's waaaaay more interesting to see the characters (and cars?) put in death-defying situations, rather than just a race to see who's faster haha. Has the series gotten *too* ridiculous? Yeah, probably. But you gotta give props to the franchise being self-aware enough to know they're crazy. This shit was never high art, and they know it.

Fast and Furious 1, 2, 3 and 4 featured the Street Racing element, which I loved and the storylines we're much better. Fast 5, 6, and 7 were Heist films, and the 8th and 9th are Spy Caper movies. After the 5th, they each have one Racing scene to let everyone know that they didn't forget about where the franchise came from.

Not exactly with f&f the first one is street racing and organised crime I guess the 2nd is kinda street racing but mostly an undercover cop story 3rd street racing dethroning the king of Tokyo 4th more cops more plot points racing and stuff weird film that doesn’t matter 5th they go Rio and rob a vault and drive through the street whilst the fbi or CIA are after them but they want money to disappear 6th the CIA or fbi recruit the team to take down some guy in England turns out he’s a criminal Dom’s gf from the 1st and 4th film is alive and with the criminals so family is love family is life 7th is practically the winter soldier the main guy from the 6th films brother shows up out of the blue all the time and I think he’s not all that bad after all 8 Dom turns on everyone so they chase him down and say family is love family is life and he calms down and turns baby face then John cena is here and Han returns out of the blue alive and well like letty
