I honestly believe it's the second best movie in the franchise after the 5th one. It has a straight-forward well executed plot. The toned down cinematography is a nice break from the vibrant visuals of 2 and 3, and is not seen again after 6. The acting is among the best in the series and never feels overdone or underdone. Not to mention, it basically has the best race in the franchise.

To bring back the cast of the first film for the 4th was a major shock to the system. 'New model, Original parts', the tagline alone was too good. This was the grittiest of the series. Serious drama, good action and great driving. The 'Los Bandoleros' short film by Diesel was good for expanding the story. When it comes down to it, the bond of Dom, Letty, Brian & Mia was the core of the Fast saga at this point in time.

Just came back from the Dominican and it’s a tragically beautiful place. So much poverty but so much untouched beautiful land. I don’t think I’ll go back though. As a woman there, I didn’t feel safe on some of the excursions I took. Not even on the resort at some points :( if you do go there, tip the staff well. Those people desperately need the money and work extremely hard for it ❤️
@JordanJMyers3 жыл бұрын
I felt the same in Jamaica. Inside the resort its beautiful, nice and amazing. Leave those walls and its so poor and sad. Troops with machine guns. At night ppl on the beach trying to sell you drugs or trading for food. The resort knows about it because they tell you watch going on the beach at night. Everyone was super nice and happy though.
@Jasmine_U_B3 жыл бұрын
@@JordanJMyers yeah it’s really tragic honestly. The people there are so desperate for money to support their families that they resort to harassing people on the beach. It was the same way for us. Vin Diesel net worth says it all. - $75 million 2012 - $100-145 million 2015 - $225 million 2021 Vin Diesel net worth spiked since Paul Walker's death in 2013, no wonder they've been milking this franchise so long. 4:54 Guy in the beginning with the monologue was Puerto Rican rapper Tegui Calderón (playing as "Lego Tego"). He's been known in Peurto Rico since the '90s but gained popularity in the U.S. around the time 50 Cent and G-Unit came out (around that era; early 2000s, although this film came out in 2009 so he was kinda known in the Hip Hop & Reggaeton community) if I remember correctly. I know that the 'Fast' franchise is now known as wild action and comedic and that's how people view the series now but early on it was a bit serious as action/drama/crime (with still ridiculous moments). I remember liking the opening monologue back then (and still do) and even though I've never been a big car culture person (besides growing up experiencing Texas 'slab & swangas' culture aesthetic) I did like the broadening/inclusion of other racing cultures along with Asian-specifically Japanese-like we've been seeing. As someone who has seen Fast Five and up, I feel like I'm getting just enough of the movies I haven't seen and still get the feel that I've seen the entire movie. I don't really take these movies super seriously. Just a fun movie series to watch.

I'm shocked that so many fast movies have prologues that I've never heard of before.
