Maybe a few feeders really are attracted to obese people but the hard core ones...from the studies I've read, it's more about control and power. Some feeders who were interviewed admitted they fantasize about S&M. The film clip of feeding a woman through a funnel is dehumanizing. The feeder dehumanizes the feedee and what power! "Look how I can not only change this person's physical shape, I can make them totally dependent and crush their self-esteem." There's nothing ok about feederism. It's abuse.

My late mother's second husband (my ex-stepfather) is a feeder/fat admirer and introduced me to this world as young as 8 years old. I remember these magazine covers vividly as they were in my actual hands. I ended up working for people directly related to NAAFA/Dimensions as soon as I turned 18 (I am 35) as a web model. I used to get upset at my mother for saying I was involved in a cult. Maybe she wasn't too far off... because here I am, decades later, feeling exteme guilt for wanting to get healthier and also losing the only "communities" I ever knew. There's so much more nuance here that maybe one day I'll feel safe expressing but until then, anyone reading this in a similar situation, you aren't alone. 💗

I think that liking heavier people is completely fine, like someone having preference for blondes,short hair, or blue eyes. @mangana2152 жыл бұрын
@Reinhard von Lohengramm would that be considered a fetish or a preference? I don't know how to explain it in English. I mean I have a preference for tall people, that doesn't mean that I will switch from one to other the second I see someone tall. It just means that in a crowd of people my eyes will go first to those who fit my usual preference. A fetish I feel would be something you need to do in order for the relationship to work, be it emotionally or sexual, and needs the consent and understanding of all the involved parties. To me, preference would be an internal thing, while a fetish would be expressed externally
@sakitoby15812 жыл бұрын
@@mangana215 I think a preference is pretty much as you described, where your eye tends to go initially. I have a preference for tall men. That said, if I met someone wonderful who wasn't tall, his height would not be a stopping point for me; I would regard him as a whole person, all his good qualities. I think a fetish is when you obsess or won't consider the whole person, only preferring the aspect that is fetishized. That's not healthy or good. Nobody wants to be be the focus of a fetish. I certainly don't. Preferences are fine. We all like some flavors more than others, but we must treat people as people, and not just one aspect of their looks or whatever it is. I knew an American guy who ONLY dated Asian women. He didn't care what Asian country, any would do, but he would not date American women. I thought that was weird. Asians are lovely, but why would you limit yourself, thereby possibly missing out on someone terrific? We all have "a type" perhaps but why think inside that box only??

@Adrianaisjawsome2 жыл бұрын
Here’s the thing: having a fat body is not healthy but it is not someone’s personality therefore people with fat bodies should not be ostracized. Sometimes being big cannot be easily resolved (health issues,etc.) and being treated as less than doesn’t help. So when I heard about “fat acceptance” I assumed it was about treating people with respect. There’s nothing inherently wrong with being happy with yourself and accepting yourself as you are wether you’re overweight or have a cleft lip or brown eyes or whatever but you shouldn’t be in denial about things like your weight causing you harm. I have a fat body but I am beautiful. I am funny and interesting. That’s what makes me myself. Not the fat on my body. If I lose 100 lbs I’m still going to be funny and creative and eccentric. I know that having the fat on my body has lead to my overall health being not the best. Losing weight will help with my overall health, but it won’t change my self worth. I am worth more than a physical body. That’s what I feel the fat acceptance movement should’ve been about the whole time. Learning to respect yourself and others. Not denying your health. Does that make sense?

"it's more healthy to be overweight" feels like a butchered granule of truth. Like it sounds like someone took a more complete statement and butchered it to mislead people. Growing up I was often told, "It's more healthy to be overweight *than underweight."* Meaning not that it's *good* to be overweight, but when compared to being underweight it may be the lesser of two evils. I feel it's more of a piece of advice useful for people who aren't very far from a healthy BMI who struggle with possible body image issues and under eat, as I often did in my youth. When faced with the paranoid intrusive thought "am I eating too much / too often?" it's a piece of advice that helped me silence my own anxiety and get some sorely needed nutrients rather than continually starve myself either intentionally or merely because my autism makes it hard to know why I am literally physically feeling (such as hunger, fullness, the need to pee.. etc). To give a little context/perspective, it wasn't uncommon for me to just randomly forget to eat for 24+ hours straight, so I don't mean like *oh I skipped a meal every once in a while,* this was something that could happen multiple times a week. I'd forget to eat then wonder why my limbs weren't retaining body heat properly and I felt so sleepy, and honestly just chalked it up to bad circulation or something. But generic advice isn't one size fits all and I fully understand, or *believe* rather, that many people *wouldn't* benefit from the advice that may have saved my life from time to time.

The problem isn’t weight loss it’s keeping it off in a way that is healthy, that doesn’t create disordered eating or eating disorders, and realizing and learning that it’s ok to eat “fun” foods on occasion in moderation as part of a normal healthy lifestyle as that’s healthy for both the body and mind. Doing anything to extreme is not healthy for neither body nor mind. Using food as the main way to cope and soothe is not healthy but eating food to cope and soothe on occasion is perfectly normal and fine. But one has to learn how to do this and practice as a part of a long-term lifestyle.

As a recovery addict I've felt the judgment from doctors who always thought I was seeking drugs whenever I came to them with a problem when I told them I was in recovery in the first place so I could avoid getting prescribed addictive drugs now I don't tell doctors anymore because I'm sick of not being taken seriously whenever there is something wrong. I now don't have to deal with that where an over weight person cannot hide the fact they are overweight and it's for sure a nightmare when your already sick you already feel like shit for whatever reason and on top of that you go to the doctor for help and you just get dismissed. Your 100% right that dose suck even though I'm thin I see what my overweight mother has to deal with every single time she gets sick she disentangle want to get help so she suffers and I see her everyday struggles onto of everything else us humans deal with.

Honestly the fetish history is not surprising and I see a lot of fat acceptance/liberation types leaning back into this just without using the terminology. I see very prominent fat activist types on tiktok preaching this "you must like me more than you like thin women or else you are fatphobic" rhetoric constantly and their comments will be flooded with men responding with "I love you are all of your fat. I will feed you whatever you want whenever you want." And these women encourage those men fetishizing them by saying that is how not fatphobic men should respond. This then gets pushed onto teen girls that follow them and they fall prey to predatory fetishists and feeders without even knowing that's what they are. I was in the body positive movement in my late teens right as it hit its peak on Tumblr. I remember how anti fetishization everyone was about obese women. I remember people calling out influencers that had feeder or chaser boyfriends/husbands and the cycles of abuse they were stuck in. But as quickly as that came onto the scene it was pushed out by other people claiming being anti fetishization of fat women's bodies was being fatphobic and taking away the sexuality of sexual nature of fat women. As someone in the kink and sex Positive community, feederism is a touchy subject because unlike most fetishes or kinks the effects are long lasting, hard to reverse, and can easily lead to someone's early death. I don't think it should be automatically demonized because there are irresponsible and unethical people that exist within that space but I think a conversation about how that space is currently with consent and education is extremely necessary.
@gothghost7491 Жыл бұрын
One of my biggest problems with feederism is the issue of consent in the relationship. Some of these feeders don't advertize their intentions, and manipulate their partners into gaining the weight. And even if you have a couple with both consenting parties, there is no failsafe for the feedee. In BDSM and most otger kinks there is a propper way to keep it from going to far for both parties. But in feederism, there is no safe word to make it all stop and take a break. It creates a senario where a person is trapped and helpless with no way out. This is why I don't consider feederism a kink at all, it's abuse. It goes far beyond just liking bigger women.

I understand that being significantly overweight can negatively affect people’s perceptions of you and also possibly be the reason why some are discriminated against, but comparing it to Africans/ African Americans struggles to be accepted in society is WILDDDD!🤦🏾♀️ Also, I swear body positivity was originally intended for physical disabilities (missing limbs & prosthetics, burn survivors, down syndrome etc)? Like it was to uplift them and help the general public and themselves acknowledge that despite their disabilities they are capable and shouldn’t let it stop them from doing great things! It evolving is good, because in a sense we should all try to be more positive and confident in how we look. But shoving fat acceptance and ‘fat is healthy’ with misinformation and blame is not okay.

We are censored so much nowadays that people can't even say shit! Yes you can be overweight and healthy. I do think so. But I highly doubt if you are 400 lbs you are healthy
@erlandaislund45943 ай бұрын
And it is all a matter of time. You are 400lbs and in your low 20s. You can be perfectly healthy. Becose the body is young anf strong and can compensate the aditional stress. But every day someone carries that extra amount of weight around, it takes a toll on the body. There are a lot of reasons, people gain weight. But the truth is: i have worked as a paramedic and i have met a lit of elderly people and people with health issues. And i never met a person over 50, who was morbidly obese their entire live. All obese people over 50 have gained their weight after something else effected their health and/or their mobillity.

Why don’t they just go with the idea that Obesity is a real disease and that’s exactly why it needs treatment? There’s nothing wrong with having an illness But there is treatment now that works. There are lots of interventions that help. And just because it’s partially due to things not in our control, doesn’t mean it’s hopeless to stage what we can. It’s an individual thing, but saying a person should try is dangerous. Where are they getting the data that being extremely obese isn’t linked to bad health? If they’re still young and keep eating like that they’ll gain more every year until they wake up a 40 and are in 29 medications, have joint replacements and can’t move around freely. Young people go on tik tok and think these people are telling them the truth. You don’t see 45 year old very obese people saying their lives and health are great!

Interestingly, kindergartners don’t feel attraction. They get crushes based on admiration that they assume is attraction because it’s something people always talk about. I think as you get older and start to be attracted to people, you will remember what you had a crush on as a kid and it will subconsciously influence that. Like, there are no “gay kids” but some kids will have crushes on people of the same sex because a crush is just looking up to someone and thinking they’re pretty to look at. When they become an adult, that crush may or may not influence who they are attracted to as adults. It often doesn’t, which is why a lot of gay guys had crushes on girls as a kid. A childhood crush is not attraction, so he actually didn’t like fat women in kindergarten the way he liked them as an adult- But since there is a cause and effect, I wouldn’t be surprised if he knew a cool older kid who was overweight, maybe a babysitter or something.
