Thanks Nick, I have replaced water chambers multiple times and this current chamber leaks. You isolated the trouble for me so now I know it is a bad chamber design causing the leaking and not the Airsense 10 machine itself. Good day mate and thank you again!

I brought my AS10 in Sept 2016 and still using the same chamber. I use Coles demineralised water and clean it weekly. Never had deposits on the plate and never had a leak. I had a loan unit when first diagnosed and it's chamber was cracked as it had been run to dry it after it was cleaned without water in it by the technician. Rule of thumb, never let them run dry.

Hi Nick, just a tip that can be helpful when filling the water tank an AS 10. If you fill the water tank through the large hole on the end, and fill it until the water reaches the top of that hole, this is the same amount of water as filling the water tank to the full line with the lid open. I then turn the tank with the holes facing down to let out any excess water. Then give it a quick wipe with a towel. This has worked for me for the last 4-5 years. If you're pouring distilled water from a bottle that may be awkward. I use tap water out of the faucet with no problems, just a little vinegar rinse now and then.

Being a bit proactive. When I first heard about this I brushed on a thin layer of UV resin on the seam and put it under a UV light for awhile. The seam is now like it's coated with a very thin plastic. Hard stuff too. I use this process as the clearcoat on the outside of fishing lures I make. It is about 18 months old but they said only a 12 month warranty on the reservoir and heater hose so you need to buy a new new one for $100. So no luck in getting Resmed to replace the reservoir :(

Hi Mark, unfortunately that's an all too common story! Yes, i understand no product is made to last forever (i believe they only have a 3 month warranty which is ridiculous) but surely they can design a part that does not leak water and potentially ruin your expensive machine. $100 is also a joke! About $30 in the U.S. AirSense 11 not available in AU yet and i don't think it will be until late 2022 or potentially early 2023. Cheers

I ran across a issue on Dream Station humidity chamber the swivel connection on top can be easily broken if the tubing isn't pulled straight off. And to repair it you made need to cut the wire for the heating hose connection. Its a simple fit just some super glue and a piece of transparent tape. Also there is gasket inside tank housing they may work its self off. I only noticed this because the machine was getting louder. I've since have ordered a 18 inch hose and hose to hose connectors. But I've also have taken a hose fitting that O2 hose can placed, blocked off that hole and placed a bit of olive oil on that fitting when i got placed back on to chamber so it can be easily removed and not get stuck. I choose olive oil because its food safe and.. The only bad issue is the super glue fumes may linger a few minutes. But wasn't a big deal to me. I worked at a rubber manifesting plant where if mold joints a would come apart just a little. Super glue was applied and excess was burned off using a electric soldering pen. And wasn't required to wear a mask.... Also on my old gray ResMed the tanks would only last about five years. But that also depend on the heat setting you preferred. The higher the temp the plastic would come loose around the medal plate over time... But way no recall on low level of melting plastic on the humidity tank.

Good tips Nick. My chamber sprung a leak during 2020. Bought a new chamber the next day. I did keep the faulty device so I shall contact ResMed. I hadn’t thought about doing that. I’ll give the vinegar a go for the current container. Once or twice a year I 1/3 fill my kettle and slop in vinegar and boil the kettle. After the boil, I fill to the top with hot tap water and leave it in overnight. Clears up the window of the kettle. Rinse well. Only a third fill the kettle as the water and vinegar bubbles up and if filled more then tends to escape through the spout.

When I press top and bottom together whistle goes away. wrt chamber leaking - I was advised by resmed Newcastle they are an item that needs to be replaced every 12 months ! Theres also a fairly bad logic fault in units, if humidity dropps off (i.e. no water in chamber, heater does NOT turn off at all, and will get roasting hot) As airsense10 does regulate humidity from sensor in delivery pipe , it could also know when to turn off heater below chamber -

So, I just got mine, and didn't realize that the humidifier came in 3 pieces instead of 2. I used it the first day, and while it it wasn't the most comfortable thing, it did what it needed to. I go to clean it like the company told me to the next day, let it air dry, fill it and then I go to put it in. When I use it "high leak detected, check water tub." The error message took less than 2 seconds to come up. It was Saturday when it happened. The place I got it from wouldn't be open till Monday. A replacement tub is 30 dollars, and I didn't know if Medicaid would replace it since it seemed like I was the one to break it. I was so angry. I told everyone. Lo and behold, I find this video after several failed attempts to find any info in the forums. I see that the humidifier tub has 3 pieces, and immediately go to check where I dry my dishes. Nothing. I inform everyone, and look again. It has stains on it, but it's on the kitchen table. I have never been happier. I reassemble the humidifier, put it in, and it works. Thank you for the informative video!

Thanks for your videos! I am troubleshooting an AirSense 10 that is drying out my mouth incredibly! It has also caused other health issues. In comparing an AirSense 11 to my 10, the gaskets where the cannister attaches are different. The 10 has the sealers attached inside the machine at the ports and the cannister had no sealing component. On the 11, one port has a sealer and the other doesn't. I am thinking that there must be issues with the 10 on that one port, therefore the 11 design is such that when you get your cannister recorder, it comes with a sealer. I'm wondering if there is a way to replace the sealers at the ports on the inside of the 10? Or I can CAREFULLY pull of the sealer on that one port and purchase a new cannister that comes with the sealer. I may not be making any sense at all! Sorry for the long explanation!

Got a question someone here could hopefully answer. My resmed airsense 10 recently stopped transferring data to my air. It no longer shows having reception bars, use wise it is not very old. I was curious who pays for the mobile service? Is it paid by your provider or is it included with the machine? I am in-between providers and am wondering if they could have disconnected my service.

I am wondering why at top of machine when everything turned off a green light appears and only thing I can turn it off is unplugging whole machine. It never used to do this. Do you have any thoughts about why this happens. Thank you.

Searched for distilled water in the major supermarkets without success. Then found out they sell demineralised water (found in the cleaning products aisles in 2 or 5 litre containers - not expensive) which doesn't leave any scale residue in the tank.

This can be caused by using a dishwasher to clean it

A leaking water chamber is the exact reason why I am planning on not using my humidifier except if I get sick AND even then I will NOT be using the heat setting and will only let it be used as a pass over humidifier.

I told them today that it sucks. I had to order a new one and it only cost $14.09 usd with taxes and shipping from the company. Still looking into purchasing a new machine but it will have to wait until that 10% goes into effect.

I recently started receiving the water tub with the full metal bottoms, instead of the round bottom, for the Airsense 10. For some reason the new model leaks air, not water, for me. I cannot get it to seal, and there is nothing that Resmed or my equipment people are able to do about it. Have you ever come across this issue?
@maloneandsloan2137 Жыл бұрын
Hi, did you ever solve this problem with your CPAP water chamber? I have had the square bottom ones and just got a new CPAP machine (my other was 5 years old) and they sent me a water chamber with a round bottom which I’ve never seen before. When I put it in my new machine is scratched the inside on the bottom pretty badly! The fit didn’t seem right but it appears to be the correct chamber.
@chrisc839810 ай бұрын
I have had a number of these chambers, and they all start leaking after a few cleanings. This almost seems to be by design - the engineers couldn't be this incompetent. They should have recalled these and replaced them with a better design. The older design did not have this problem.

Nice, just needed this to decide not buying AS10. This mat is not cheap by the way. On American Amazon it is 40 buks with a protective cover together. Just the mat is not available. The same mat and dust cover is 25 Euro on German Amazon.

@CPAPReviews3 жыл бұрын
G'day Jeff, yeah i've seen a lot of people talking about this actually. How incredibly wasteful it is to throw out perfectly fine water chambers every 3 months. It's a bit of a joke really and is all to do with corporate greed (like most thing). Some sales exec at ResMed would have come up with some BS replacement schedule and then done some BS deal with the health insurers in the back room. Down here in Australia that faulty tub will set you back around $100 haha. They love us! Cheers brother. Nicko

@@CPAPReviews Holy S#!7BALLS! When I got my S-10 new I paid about $35 USD for a second chamber. Sounds like Resmed not only have Aussies over a barrel, but bent over that barrel too!

@@CPAPReviews I just now thought of a possible explanation for the discrepancy in price. Here in the USA I have Medicare Health Coverage. Thinking about it, I'm guessing the price I paid wasn't the full price, but my portion of the cost, i.e. my copay. Medicare picked up the additional balance. So I guess, indirectly, I'm bent over that barrel too.

Don't know if someone else posted this, but get the dishwasher safe chamber. Model 37479. It's better made and I've never had one leak. Just wash normally in sink. Standard chambers are junk and Resmed should really compensate.

That dishwasher safe chamber is made of polycarbonate plastic and I'm not too sure if it contains BPA since this material is typically made with it.

I have the AirSense 11 and the tanks leaks unfortunately. I got it in November. The company I use for supplies made me pay out of pocket for a new tank because it hasn’t been 6 months yet. My question though is will the water leak do any sort of electrical damage to the hot plate or the machine itself. That’s honestly my main concern.
