Evos and NSXs always did well in these battles. I'm a Subaru guy and it has always been painful to see WRXs and STIs understeering to the back of the pack on almost every episode. This show really taught you about what each car could do. I love it.

2年くらい前、近所の旧車扱う車屋にたまたま最終型4万キロの白FDが400万で入庫してて、そこのオーナーさんに話聞きに行ったら、『売ってもいいけど、7はもう骨董品だから勿体なくて乗れんくなるけんねえ。おすすめはできないかなぁ(苦笑)』って言われて現実を知らされたなぁ。今も置いてあるけど、絶対もっと値段いってるわ笑

Anybody know what Tsuchiya was saying about his tires in the stock FD? They seemed pretty rubbish.

They were RE-01s which aren't standard tires from factory while all the other cars had the factory tires which I assume had better grip levels despite that the RE-01s are meant to be gripper like Advan Neovas during that era. I'd assume because the RE-01s are summer performance tire and wouldn't suit well with a stock car without fine tuning beforehand.

The tires seemed to be terrible on the FD. It would do much better with a tire upgraded and some suspension adjustments.
