The Hat Man is always described the same way: tall, dark, and thoroughly terrifying. Said by some to be a species of shadow person, this paranormal entity is most often encountered at night, haunting the state between sleeping and waking, sometimes even causing sleep paralysis. Despite their being thousands of online testimonies describing encounters with the Hat Man, there is no clear consensus or explanation as to what this chilling shadow being is... and, more importantly, what he wants. Some people describe him as a demon, some a ghostly interdimensional being, others an alien. In this documentary, we explore not merely spooky Hat Man stories, but also look at historical examples that may indicate an ancient origin for this nightmarish shadow man.

My sister was very sick but needed to take her nursing finals. She was taking a lot of cold medicine in the week before while studying. She said she began seeing a tall man with a hat. This was in 1977. Way before the internet. I mentioned it to her lately and she says she doesn't recall it. Probably for the best! But I feel my family of origin has bad mojo (for lack of a better word) attached to it. I always felt as long as I was in close contact with my family nothing would ever work out for me. So I moved away.

No worries I find myself doing the same from time to time as well. I think it makes your presence more human & relatable & make no attention to such. I think of Dr. Seuss who wrote Those who mind don’t matter & those who don’t mind matter. I might have mistakenly quoted that backwards but none the less you must understand I do believe it’s fairly simple message to convey & understand in this context as well as in a more generalized manner too. ❤😊

I lived in El Paso Texas growing up, and despite not being a first hand encounter my neighbor did see the hat man one night in his backyard. This happened in the mid 90's before widespread use of the internet so none of us knew who the Hat Man was. My friend had gotten up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. As he was peeing he looked out the window in the bathroom into the backyard and saw a figure entirely made of shadow wearing a top hat and what looked like a cape standing in the middle of the light shining from the bathroom. When noticed the figure turned around and slowly walked to the back yard wall, which it about 10 feel tall and made or concrete and stone. The figure stopped upon reaching the wall and then took a step onto it and walked up the wall like it was just the ground disappearing at the top. That is what my friend told me. After that none of the children in the neighborhood felt safe in his backyard after dark. Some even refusing to go back there at all after that.

One of my best friends had this figure haunt her as a child. She lived in the US, but as you said, it doesn’t seem to be bound to any specific area. Something I’ve found, through listening to others’ stories, is that many of the children who have this being visit them are also abused children. This phenomena can’t be dismissed as a media induced illusion when so many of the children concerned simply weren’t exposed to the media kids deal with nowadays. My friend, for example, grew up in a rural area with no TV permitted. Such explanations are way too simplistic. The problem with arch skeptics is that they have their own confirmation bias, ruling out a multitude of possibilities because these ideas don’t fit in with their rigid definition of reality. The thing is, whatever these phenomena are, l doubt very much that they care about rational explanations or fitting in to the accepted boundaries and rules we apply to reality. They simply are. Really well presented Laura, there are so many aspects to these experiences that absolutely fascinate me….the nature of consciousness itself is one. I feel the more we can discuss phenomena such as this, the greater our knowledge and ability to hopefully empower ourselves in situations where we feel frightened and helpless.

I’ve noticed the trend of abused children seeing him too, glad someone else sees it. And this is exactly my problem with the skeptics who insist they don’t believe in anything because they are “scientific”- if you think scientifically, you should be keeping an open mind. Science will tell you there is so much we don’t know, and that the surest way to not find out is to have your mind made up beforehand. Dismissing any and all evidence presented is not scientific, it’s biased. That evidence may or may not be worth something, but if you never look then you’ll never know. Just saying “that couldn’t possibly be real” is not truly scientific. Science breaks its own rules and rewrites its own conclusions and admits that there are things it doesn’t know.

My father, in the early 80s, had some encounters with the "hatman". These experiences assumed the characteristics of a true haunting, affecting his emotional balance and vitality. It all started when he moved to a house that had just been built for him and my mother. As usual, that phenomenon is a multi-faceted one, hard to explain, but not so rare as we would like to imagine. Thank you for one more perfect narrative!

I was living in another city at that time. My mother told me that, as things were getting out of control, she one day confronted the entity herself, during an "attack". Somehow that produces the immediate desired effect. But not too long after that, the house presented a structural strain that cracked its very foundations. Part of the yard drifted away from the rest of the building. They ended up selling the house and moved twice after all that. But my father has never again complained of the apparition.

He's definitely evil. He came to me once, 20 years ago when i was at my lowest. I was working shifts, sleep deprived and miserable in a dead end job. I'd just finished a 6-2 morning shift and basically passed out from exhaustion. It was a dream, but it felt real. The dream itself lasted for months, in one go, it just didn't end. In the dream the hat man (tall, thin, tall hat, dark, trench coat) tried different ways to get me to give my soul to him. He tried all sorts of clever tricks to get me to submit, but at the end of each one i still had to make the decision and each time i was strong, even at my weakest, and didn't give in. Eventually, after months of trying and tricking, he realised he'd never beat me. Then i woke up. It took me minutes to realise what was happening, where i was, that i was 'back'. Then i tried to make sense of the time, eventually it came back to me and i worked it out. I'd been asleep for only 3 minutes. You're not even supposed to dream in the first hour or so of sleep. It was both terrifying and empowering. And very difficult to make sense of as a lifelong sceptic. Don't trust him. Don't mess with him.

Time stretching or condensing is a very common theme in old accounts of fairies. A person will go into a fairy encounter thinking it lasted three minutes and then wake up and three years have passed, or in some stories, an entire lifetime has elapsed and it only felt like a day in fairy world. For what it is worth, I had a dream where a lifetime seemed to go by and when I woke up, it had only been a few hours. In that peculiar dimension, time is different. Another element is the theme of vampires needing an invitation to get in -- I think that exists for a reason. I think you dodged a (metaphorical) bullet by passing on that thing's "bargain" for your soul. John Michael Greer's book Monsters discusses these matters in some detail.

I began seeing the Hat man in my teenage years when my family added a new room onto the house. I moved my room in there and it began shortly after. He would walk by the door and I would see his silhouette as he passed by. Sometimes stopping to glance in the room, and sometimes he’d walk right by. I might see him a few times a month, always at night. After a while he began to not just pass by the room, but by leaning his head into the room to look at me. I could see red eyes but no real facial features. Just the black hat, red eyes, and a void where the face should be. This went on through most of my high school years and on very few occasions he did come in the room and look around. I of course was horrified every time but he never seemed to come near me. Just looked from a distance. I joined the Navy and never saw him again, always thinking it was some strange thing that I imagined. Fast forward some 20 years later and my sister and I began to talk over about our old house we grew up in. She told me about one time she saw a man in a black hat. At the time she was sleeping in the same room I had been in when I was young. She saw him once in the hallway and then he went away, but later that night she woke up and he was hovering above her and screamed at her. Then he disappeared. I instantly got chills the minute she mentioned the Hat man. The reason my sister was sleeping in that room was because I was home with my fiancé and we were sleeping in her room because it had a larger bed. My theory is he knew I was home and expected me there and was angry when he found out it was my sister. Neither of us have seen him since or been back to the old childhood home.

Okay. I am a 63 year old man, having been born in 1960. I HAVE SEEN THE HAT MAN around 1965 or so. He is just as described, being a blacker black than Tartarus. He peeked around a corner at me, and he was a perfect silhouette, complete with a Fedora with the classic wide-brim. He made no noise, and he just poked his head around the corner, and immediately withdrew. The thing is, my dad was out of town for work, due back late that night. And at the time, businessmen still wore hats of that type, though it was going out of style for good, as a common practice. But the date of my sighting will demonstrate that Freddy had nothing to do with it, except by way of drawing inspiration from the Hatman, not vice-versa. So, to answer the question, THIS THING FRIGHTENED THE HELL OUT OF ME! The thought that it was just my dad lasted a microsecond. Something just plainly said THAT'S NOT DAD! and nothing I can write here can come even close to explaining the WRONGNESS exuded by the being in that instant. I only saw him once, and no more. As to why it should be so unaccountably (if judged by actual results of encountering it) frightening, I can't say anything other than "It's just the nature of the beast".

I’m 62. I saw a shadow of a man at a young age. Like 4-5 yrs old. We didn’t watch scary movies especially in 1965/66. There was nothing spooky in our lives to give me an imagination to envision this thing. It was not a pitch black shadow either. The lights were all on. It was daytime. The shadow was a grayish color. He walked right across the wall. He had a normal fedora type hat on (not like a wide brimmed or a top hat) and a trenchcoat and was carrying a briefcase. I saw the side view of him. It didn’t look at me or seem to notice me. I saw no face or eyes or anything. Had no reason to see this. Was nothing I ever heard of or thought of! I stood there and watched it walk past, across the wall right in front of me. I watched for a long time I think because I was just trying to figure out what I was seeing and why. He walked the whole length of the wall and then I quick closed the door. I don’t know if I even told anyone. Then a year or two later we moved to a new house and I saw it there. Just one time. Did the same exact thing. Then that was that. Never saw it again. But never forgot it either. Over time I would see other things. Usually I questioned myself and blew it off. I’ve seen a full apparition of a lady. It was in the early morning. 5/6am. I was a teen. I’ve seen other things since then too. My daughter has seen some crazy stuff!!

I am someone who has experienced him as well. I was going through absolute hell at the time. He visited me during this time... which was just a few years ago. It would take too long to describe my scenario but just imagine your life falling apart in the most abysmally heartwrenching way to constant near physical death for a time. I do have ptsd from this time as well. He started coming to me when I was at my absolute worst. He was exactly as described. For me, it was almost like a blacked out - cartoon of michael jackson mixed with freddy kruger and some johnny depp in there too Just think of the most spooky that could be. I was actually able to see his face slightly which appeared covered in dark oil or something. Could hardly make out any features due to him basically being a completely weird shadow. In my experiences... he did move. He actually crept up my stairs into my hall and slowly made his way into my room. For some reason I could see this, despite being asleep. He first only came to me. Frightened the hell out of me. The second time there seemed to be more than one and it was a very scary experience. It felt as though they were trying to pull my soul down to hell. I could feel this existential slip. There was telepathy and possibly telekinesis involved too. The third and last time requires some explanation. I felt I was maybe able to fight off the hat men the second time. I am a musician. I did sit in my basement as a kid and try to "sell my soul to the devil" to make a great album or something. Obviously i wasn't religious, I just did it in jest really. Well, I ended up writing a few great albums... though nothing happened with them of course. One of my favorite songs, "the comfort of you" is perhaps my best. It is epic and super dark and existential. It is like, astoundingly wrought and raw and dark and emotional. Like... every ounce of my soul and all it's pain. The third time he came... he sat in my basement. He appeared so aggressively. I was in my bed upstairs and again... for some reason I could see him. He was in a basement that doesn't exist. It had the most evil massive pipe organ. The moment he appeared felt like a stab in the soul while I was asleep and suddenly my attention was completely sucked towards him in this basement that wasn't real but it was below me. He started playing the most disgusting and evil and frightening versions of my song... it would be literally "the Hell version". It was so evil. And in his playing... it was mocking. I can't explain how I know.. but it was a very demonic and mocking feeling and i slowly realized he found his way to steal my soul. He played that version of that song and it was sucking my soul from me. It was the saddest fucking thing I have ever known in this life. And I have known the saddest to know. This was something else. I was done. It was all done. And my fucking song, man. By my own song. Just soul wrenching. Obviously I am pretty ok. Like I said, i went through a very hard time so I wouldn't really know if that has been the cause for change or not. But I can assure you I haven't felt the same since around that time. I'm obviously hoping (and pretty much believing) it was just crazy dreams and I'll be able to recover the rest of the way, but I'd at least suggest for now... if you are encountering this entity... be smart. I have a feeling he comes for people really... really not enjoying life.

I know first hand what it is like to deal with these things. My childhood was also plagued by trauma and the soon-to-follow paranormal vultures. Personally, I found Eastern spiritual practices to be far more effective than the Western ones available to me throughout my life. There are several Vajrayana Buddhist protective deities that also immediately banish these inter-dimensional beings and practices you can learn to banish them, yourself. In case Jesus has His hands full and can't show up for whatever reason, there are others who can also help in a spiritual emergency. Some don't even care what religion you are, they will do what they can to help regardless of your devotion to them. There are 6 main classes of sentient beings, of which some are non-corporeal and others semi-corporeal. Our ancestors knew about these beings and how to protect ourselves and others from the nasty ones. There are powerful visualizations that help you create & maintain psychic shields which protect you from the energetic manipulation these beings employ. Strong mind, strong will, strong shields. When shielded, you can then think more clearly and are able to take additional steps to bannish them from your presence, seal & protect your physical location, etc. So, if Western religion isn't entirely your cup of tea, you can also seek the assistance of a Tibetan Buddhist Karma Kagyu Rinpoche and/or a Padma Nyingma Rinpoche to assist in dealing with these beings, performing the removal rituals, etc. You study enough tribal lore from around the world, you realize there are certain "cryptids/phenomena" that are described, almost verbatim, across the world and across all of time. They have different names but describe the same creatures. There is no way it's "internet hysteria" when it's been going on for thousands of years before the internet was created. We have ancient Vedic texts describing multitudes of paranormal beings that people all over the world are still dealing with daily. They are real, and our ancestors had methods of protection. Relying on stronger beings/people who have stabilized their minds and do not fall victim to psychic attack and manipulation can be helpful until you are strong enough to hold your own. With practice, you will be. Regardless of your karmic hooks with these beings, you can banish them from your life safely, and purify that connection so it is no longer dangerous to you. Ultimately, whether you choose to rely on the help of ascended masters or learn the spiritual kung fu yourself, there are ways to contend with these guys from a place of centered-strength and practiced calm. "Practiced " being key: you do have to train yourself to be calm and centered when dealing with these things. Fear and rage feed them. Joyful compassion weakens them. It's why they stalk people who are scared and hurting. They are basically energy vampires, and humans in pain are like vibrational dinner bells rung on the astral plane, drawing these things in like parasitic sharks. Ultimately, they have no power over you except what you surrender to them. So never surrender. Despair lures surrender in, so do not despair. Find a source of light and joy within yourself and feed and nurture it until it can burn brightly on its own, unattended. One day it will be the light in the dark for others to find their way. That's how you pay it forward. May you be protected always, find the safest solutions to all your dilemmas, and may all beings benefit from their connection with you.

I had a similar experience as your organ experience, as I had a hideous organ/tornado siren sound accompany one specific recurring sleep paralysis experience I had several times, and I happened to describe in my comment ,too. So I'll share my comment here below: As usual, Sleep Paralysis. I've experienced this phenomenon several times, mostly as a young child feom ages approximately 3-12. However, ive continued to experience varying types of sleep paralysis and seen various different entities from the shadow/hat man to the old hat to dracula to killer clowns. Several times I remember having sleep paralysis where I would find myself randomly standing out in the middle of the street and dozens or hundreds of people were standing out there too, and all of a sudden a loud hideous organ sound, or almost the sound of the worst tornado siren imaginable began, and as it did, all those people surrounding me in the street turned and began staring at me with awful pitch black eyes, and it struck such fear in me I thought my heart would explode. And I had that specific "dream" several times. It was horrifying. I should also say the experiences from around 12 or my teen years until now (age 37) became fewer and fewer each year. Having said that, i believe it's a natural phenomenon known as sleep paralysis, especially considering nearly everyone experiences it. However, it's definitely not simply some phenomenon thst was created by internet lore, because I began experiencing it myself, as did many others, long before the internet was a thing, and certainly long before I ever used a computer, and LONG, long before ever even knew what an internet foeum was, or knew that 1000s of others were experiencing it. Other than the fact that i had spoken to many friends of mine who had had similar experiences to me. But again, this was after many years of experiences by both myself and the friends i spoke with.

I saw the Hat Man when I was younger. I wasn't scared of him at all. After staring at him for a few seconds, I just turned over and went back to sleep. My brothers wife saw him years later. She didn't know at the time that I had seen him years prior. Personal things did happen to me after I saw him, and did for my brothers wife. I always wonder if he was some kind of warning of things to come.

Seen the hat man peer around the corner of the door to mine and my girlfriends bedroom when she was pregnant. I just remember the blackest of black shapes just from the shoulders up peering around the door frame but I felt completely calm and not like either of us were in any danger, then it just slipped away after about 10 seconds.

Everyone will tell you they are evil. Fierce maybe. Long story warning, read at your own risk. The one time they felt evil the whole family had an experience. We lived in the middle of nowhere in a small trailer park. It was a clear summer night and me and my sister were getting ready for bed brushing our teeth. I was about 7 years old. It was at dusk. We were in the hallway when everything got still. Like extremely still and we could hear static popping in the air. Not a cloud in sight. We heard a boom so loud it shook everything around us. It got dark almost instantly. My mom freaked out and got us. We all thought someone's propane container exploded or something. Still to this day it was the loudest boom I've ever heard. The whole trailer park was outside trying to figure it out. Me and my sister noticed a gap in time. It was light out and after the boom it was dark. No one else said anything. We were kids so no one was listening to us. My dad beat the living hell out of all of us so we were in constant hiding. He hadn't found us yet. That night I fell asleep on the couch. I woke up to a cold black shadow person carrying me to bed. I remember being inches from the ceiling and feeling no footsteps, just gliding. It set me down as gently as possible and as soon as I hit the bed I fell asleep. I told my mom the next morning and she said the same thing happened to her. She was having tooth problems and we were POOR!! She pulled her own tooth and passed out in the bathroom because the pain was so bad. She said it carried her to bed. Me and my sister loved living out there in the country. Our lives were beautiful but we always had the threat of our dad kidnapping us and killing our mother. He had kidnapped me twice at that point and "accidentally" through me in the swimming pool where I almost drowned. I blacked out underwater where I saw angels with no faces swim up and save me. My aunt barely saved my life. CPR the whole 9 yards. Bad dude to put it lightly. He was trying to destroy my mom by killing me. Sick drunk. After this experience things happen, strange things. Fast forward to Christmas of 1988. Everything was beautiful. My mom had a good job, I had established some very good friends. Life was good. I remember falling asleep and falling into sleep paralysis. This happened a lot. Sometimes everything would go red and a loud buzzing was heard in my head other times shadow people would be standing at the end of my bed, sometimes with the hat man. This night was different. I woke up to the same bang and saw my sister's transparent body float through the ceiling. I heard a LARGE present walking down the hallway. Massive shadow person was trying to beat down my mom's door. Then I floated out of my body. The next morning I got up and told my mom. She went ghost white and had the exact experience but was trying to hold the door closed while it tried to beat her door down. She woke up next to the door. My brother had sleep paralysis for the first time and said a yellow skinned gnome was setting on his chest and he couldn't breathe. He heard the door being beat down and was paralyzed with fear. The yellow demon told my brother that a snake would kill my dad in good time. But they are there to feed now. May older sister had a dream that someone was trying to kill her with her doing the same thing but they got in. She said it was ten little creatures with what looked like vacuum hoses all around their bodies and so kind of respirators. She said they took her through the roof into a ship that looked like a can that had been stepped on. We all had the same experience but with a little different perspective. My psychopath dad sent us Christmas presents in the mail that year so we knew the day after that shared nightmare he found our beloved home. We had to change our names and move to the ghetto ghetto in the west side of Denver. It was hell. *Conclusion, I know good and evil are human ideas and good might come in many forms. I also know love is the most beautiful and important emotion we share and it can be used for evil just as well as good. I have no idea what these things are but since then I can feel ghostly entries, I've been abducted by "aliens" many times. I was recruited into an occult society when I was 8 because of these "gifts". The extremely stressful environment growing up opened something up in me. I've scared lots of people. In fifty grade I heard something in my head over and over in what sounded like Italian. My art teacher at the time was Italian so I asked him what it meant. He looked at me absolutely terrified. He refused to respond and then looked at me with hate and suspicion. I got called into the office where the principal ask me over and over how I knew to say that. I told her. She refused to say anything more. I finally saw the art teacher again and he was scared of me. I didn't ask him anything. At the end of the class he told me I was a very talented artist and he told me with tears running down his face that was the last thing his father said to him before he died. He said it means to never bend to anyone's will but God's and your own. Listen to your heart He simplified. He was in a fraternity that recognized these things and thought it was some kind of joke from those guys. He made me promise over and over no one told me to say that. I learned to keep A LOT of things to myself after that. We're all done hiding now. There are things none of us can explain.

Dear Luke, thank you for sharing your story. I believe you. You have survived hell and seen things others can’t comprehend. The beings who kept you from drowning and the ones who transported your family astrally as well as the hatman. For whatever reason, you were born or were gifted with abilities. The alien beings are very curious about this. They study people who meet their criteria, sometimes for life. I’m not sure if the ones who tried to keep you from drowning are the same kind of beings. You have a purpose to fulfill. The shadowed hatman is not the same thing as the other beings. They watch, stalk and terrorize their chosen prey. I believe that they feed off the fear we generate. They also feed off anger. They are considered to be a type of demonic entity. Occasionally they abduct people, mostly children. I urge you to take precautions against them- sage, cleanse, bless your home and yourself. Once you can no longer feel the negative energy, place salt across your doorsills, and every window in your home. This will only work if you are ready to firmly cast all evil out. It won’t work on aliens as they are corporeal beings. Periodically, smudge your home and cleanse yourself with the sage, or sage and cedar if it’s stubborn about leaving. I say out loud, only love, light and peace may dwell here, all negative energy must leave and not come back. I repeat that as I go room to room, corners, and anyplace where I feel it can hide. While I can’t offer you a cure all, I am hopeful that you can create a safe haven inside your home. As for your other gifts, they may fade in time if the hatman was causing the phenomenon. I have successfully managed to banish them from my home. Wishing you love and light, Brenda ❤

I saw the hat man. I was about 30 years old. He was sitting at the bottom of my bed. It was about 2am or so. I felt a presence, woke up, and there he was. Somehow, I knew it was spiritual and not an intruder. I saw his sidebsilhouette. He turned to face me but I couldn't see his face. I thought it was because of the light from the tv glowing behind him. The weird thing about it was that he was trying to convince me that he was related to me in some way and that the ppl on the tv were communicating with me for him. I closed my eyes real tight and prayed the Lord's prayer, in the name of Jesus and he went away! That was about 15 years ago. Haven't seen him since. 🤔

Well I can testify that a hatless shadow is just as terrifying as one donning headwear. It's the dense darkness that's frightening. As for the negative feeling the hatman brings, I never thought of movie influences. I think it's more subliminal since I was raised to believe "a gentleman takes his hat off." In the old westerns the "bad guy" would often leave his hat on. That's pretty powerful. Additionally, we often focus on the negative more than the positive.. who's to say it's not a guardian of some sort absorbing the darkness for us? Yes, I like this thought.😊 Thanks, Laura ❤

I had a quick encounter with a hatless shadow like humaniod in form being. Was night time, and I exited the front door of our family cabin rather quickly. The auto light kicked on due to the motion sensor, and all of sudden there was the shadow figure who "turned its head around" for me to see its 2 tiny white pinpoints where the eyes would be. I was startled by it, but not scared, and I got the impression it was startled by my hastened presence as well. it darted off into the yard and vanished. idk if it had good, evil or even neutral intentions. and I didnt sense anything so.....????

I saw the hat man for years in my early - mid teens. Most people attribute it to sleep paralysis but I was never asleep when I saw him. I was wide awake. I even pointed him out to a friend that stayed over... they did not stay over again. So I know he's real. Mine wore a fedora and I didn't see eyes on him. But I was never sure if he was in front or behind the curtains because he always stood by the window. I didn't know til a couple of years ago that other people had seen him.

Your expierence is the closest one I have encountered to mine. Me and my sister have both seen him in very much the same way (only a shadow with no eyes). I remember asking her if she could see him too, to which she said she did. I know for a fact we were wide awake, as we both recalled the expierence the morning after. I never felt he was malicious though. In fact his presence was quite calming. Me and my sister both believed for many many years it was our granddad paying us a visit, since he used to wear a similar fedora, and our mom told us it must have been our granddad when we shared our expierence with her. Imagine my surprise when I read about the hat man many years later! I did end up showing it to me sister, and she confirmed it was the man we saw all those year ago.

I always thought the idea of the hatman was ridiculous and laughable until it happened to me. Ive had severe sleep paralysis my whole life (even my first memory is of sleep paralysis) but only had the hat man once and it was beyond chilling. I was paralysised in bed and he was standing behind the head of my bed (as a child I used to sleep with my bed sideways against the wall with nothing behind the head end of my bed and in this dream it was just like my childhood room) and he was leaning over me, smiling. His face somehow didnt have any features but he had this massive grin. His skin had a strange texture and was semi translucent. His hat was like a bowler hat or a fedora, not a particular wide brim. He was shadowy apart from his pale skin. I couldnt shake the fear once I woke up and thinking of it now still makes me uncomfortable. Strangely Ive also had one sleep paralyisis experience with the 'hag' who was also smiling and stranding over me in a similar way.

When I was 14 I woke up in the middle of the night and there was a Shadow being standing next to my bed. I freaked out and ran out of the room down to my parents bedroom, I couldn't sleep for 3 weeks afterwards. The thing of it is, is that it wasn't sleep paralysis as I could move. I didn't even notice it right away, it wasn't until I looked over at my nightstand that I saw it. It was tall. We had 9 foot ceilings in our house and it was easily as tall as that. I don't know what it was, or why it was in my room, but it terrified me beyond description. And it wasn't until later in my life that I came to understood it as a shadow being, and that many people have seen the same thing. Wether or not it was just a hallucination, I can tell you that the fear I experienced was 100% real.

I had a story about a shadow being very similar to yours, played out almost the same way, I believe I was 14 too, and kind of like you I didn't notice it when I woke up, but had a sudden urge to look at my nightstand in the corner of my room, there, I saw it. As soon as I looked at it, I screamed in absolute terror and fear and ran to my parents in the living room. I don't know what shadow figure you saw, but I saw the one that is considered a "Demon" shadow person, but an extremely uncommon one, glowing yellow eyes and teeth, but it was just as tall as the ceiling, like you described, so this just reinforces my belief that it wasn't a hallucination, since we both had similar experiences play out in similar circumstances.

My oldest daughter was at least 16 and she shared her room with her younger brother and sister. In the middle of the night I felt someone in the apartment there was no air but I was breathing. I grabbed my ball bat and walked to my door which is right across from my childrens room. A white ghostly woman with a 1950's poodle skirt and top on with black polkadots, no feet she was looking in the room I asked what do you want she just turned her head and looked at me. No eyes and a screaming mouth with no sound. I ran past her and a tall man dark suit tall hat stood at the end of my oldest daughters bed. I walked up to him to swing my bat and he was gone. I'm still in awe over it and yes I have looked it up

I wouldn't believe in the Hat Man if i hadn't seen him with my own eyes. The person who was with me at the time could see him too. He was standing in a dark doorway, as big as the doorway, but he was so pitch black that he stood out in the darkness. If anyone remembers what The Undertaker's (from WWE) hat looked like when he first debuted, that's what the Hat Man's hat looked like to me. I was terrified of this one house in Raleigh, NC Saw shadows constantly, felt like voices were in my head and kept telling myself it was in my head. One day I did see the hat man at the edge of my bed holding a brief case and didn't leave like most ghosts do so I had to conquer my fear and get up and run out. It was fairly illuminated so seeing the most pitch black void in your room was obvious. I thought it was all bs I made up although I knew it wasn't. Years later my sister was telling me she saw the hat man too in that house as well as other experiences. Was not a fun house to be in. Had a freaky crawlspace that I felt like I was going to die in everytime I went into it. 😅

I was haunted by this figure as a young child. I became terrified of my own room and of going to sleep because of it. I spent many nights frozen in absolute terror closing my eyes praying for him to go away and to be able to sleep. Most nights when I did get sleep, I would have horrific nightmares. On nights I could find myself able to move, I would run to my parents room only to spend the night next to them, horrified, being watching from the foot of their bed. On nights they didn’t let me in, I would be horrified to watch the figure above me over the couch, or standing just outside our large window looking in on me. Sometimes I would see shadows in mirrors when I was completely awake in the middle of the day. It was absolutely terrifying. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

I was 8 years old in 1971 and had just got into bed, turned the light off and just before I closed my eyes my attention was drawn to this same man standing by the wall near the foot of my bed. Silhouetted, but I could make out buttons on his trench coat and what looked like a top hat upon his head. What did stand out most though, was that stare. We locked eyes for, probably seconds, but felt longer because I will never forget that stare, it was not friendly. My reaction, as my heart beat like a drum in my chest, was to pull the blankets over my head and pretend that he wasn't there. I obviously fell asleep, regardless of my fear, as the next thing I remember was waking up the next morning. I swapped bedrooms with my brother and he had the same experience. Thankfully we both only saw him the one time but I will always remember that stare. I'll be 61 in nine days time and the memory is as fresh now as when it happened. Then I see this post !!. I haven't even finished watching the video yet, lol and of course I'll resume after I finish typing, I just had to get this down first. Now I will continue. This is very interesting, about halfway through the video I remembered something from my childhood. I had a dream where I was playing outside on the verandah when my ball went rolling down the steps to the drive-way. When I went down to go get it I only got down a couple steps before I almost ran into, what I can only describe as a mix of Slenderman & The Hat Man (as he had no face). I remember screaming at the top of my lungs before waking up in my bed freaking tf out

I too have witnessed the Hat Man as a teenager years ago. But in my case, I saw him in the window of my bedroom with the curtains drawn, as they were white. My parents were next door in the bathroom, talking and laughing, whilst he came to the window. He must have been very tall, since there’s a basement underneath with windows coming out of the ground. And him stretching over the middle of the window. He had a top hat on, and a trench coat or something similar. I was so scared, even though he didn’t do anything, he just stood there. So I yelled “get out of here in Jesus Christ’s name!”, and as I said that he was gone. It shook me to my core and I could never forget what I saw that night. I felt like he was some kind of evil entity. There was however a feeling I got once I saw an episode of The Haunting Hill House on Netflix, where there was a hat man following on of the children. I can’t remember who it was, but I think it was the son. And it made me remember the Top Hat man I saw. It was chilling to say the least. I might add my witnessing happened before internet and mobile phones.

I have many experiences with this entity. I was able to "shake myself out" of a sleep paralysis one night and snap photos of him standing in my room by my bedroom door. So seriously screw all these skeptics that say this is just part of the sleep paralysis and is only a night hallucination. You can't photograph hallucinations 😒🙄 EDIT - I've tried *multiple times* to post a link to imgur and other photo sharing sites and each time the comment has been removed. I'm sorry. Yell at youtube.

My wife in the day time saw the hat man in the kitchen. I'd never heard of him before this only shadow people who I assumed were tricks of the eye. He didn't hang around for me to see but we did have him appear after some other visitations in the house. She was pretty shaken up at the time.

@@matttriano She says he wasn't super tall but maybe close to 6 foot and slim. She couldn't see any eyes. He appeared as a solid dark shadow with Fedora style hat. He observed her for about 30 seconds. She says she didn't feel any negative energy. He was approximately 2.8 meters from her. I was in the lounge with my head in the laptop but given his position if I had looked up I would have been able to see him as he appeared just inside the doorway to the kitchen from the lounge. My wife said she felt frozen while he observed. I hope that helps.

I seen him when I was about 5. I woke up at around 4-5 am and he was standing by my bed. his demonic energy is no joke. He had a top hat and his neck was curved to the side at a weird angle. My family took this seriously and they had a priest come out, I didn't see him ever again. I didn't know anything about the Hatman or Slenderman. I called him the "shadow man" because I couldn't see his facial features. It wasn't until recently that I realized others have seen the same exact thing.

Both me and my father saw the Hatman several nights in a row. I was about 12 (this was several years before "Nightmare on Elm Street). It was winter and cold enough that I was sleeping in the living room instead of my poorly heated upstairs bedroom. My dad had diabetes and was very ill and sleeping just down the hall. For 2 nights in a row, I woke to a shadow in a top hat and trenchcoat walking out of the kitchen, past the living room, heading into the hallway where my parents' rooms were (they had separate bedrooms because of his health). Then my dad had a heart attack and they brought him back in the hospital. I spent that night in his room, only to wake to the top hatted shadow pointing at me and shaking it's head. A few days later, I overheard my parents talking. Mom was saying she was worried what he had seen had caused his heart attack. Turns out, my dad woke up 2 nights in a row to a top hatted shadow pointing at him and disappearing at the same time I was waking up to watch it move through the house. Never saw anything like it again (thank goodness!). My dad lived for several years more, passing when I was almost 18. I've seen other shadows over the years, but none so clearly defined that it looked solid like he does. I honestly thought he was a flesh and blood person when I saw him. Had me worrying that we were getting robbed or worse.

Me and my sister have seen the hat man many years ago. We know he was real because we could both see him. He was just a shadow though, no red eyes at all. He was pitch black so he stood out clearly even in the dark. We never got a bad or malicious feeling from him though, in fact he gave off quite a calming aura. We told our mom about the expierence the next morning and my mom said it might have been our granddad paying us a visit, since he used to wear a similar hat too. We have believed this to be the case for many years, until one day I stumbled upon an article about the Hat Man and sure enough...there he was! The very same man me and my sister saw. I showed it to her and she confirmed it was indeed the man we mistook for our granddad all those years ago.

Visiting my mum in hospital four weeks ago I asked if she slept well in the shared ward, "very well" she replied, except for the previous night when she was a little troubled by a dark figure wearing a large hat at the end of the bed, she didn't mention glowing eyes just a motionless silhouette! She was definitely not given to such subjects and was not on any medication. She passed away one week later.

I used to see the hat man most nights as a child at night, at a time when I didn't even know what Nightmare on Elm Street was. Things escalated into my teens, to a point it appeared in broad daylight while we were watching an episode of Casualty. However, this one had a wizard's hat, tall and pointy. It was standing at the top of the flight of stairs, one hand on the banister. Anyone who tries to write off this phenomenon should consider themselves lucky. It's no joke.

Aho from France. I am a Finnish native and I saw this top hat man appearing with some 19th century people who had passed away in a old and abandoned Train Station where we were spending the night with my best friend and her boyfriend. We were both 12 years old, he was 15 but didn't see the top hat man. In that same building I often saw strange lightbeings floting inside, in front of the windows when the place was empty, and once I was outside of the place, an owl flew over me, brushed my hair slightly, like for getting my intention-just before I saw 4 light figures inside the place. I've seen strange lights at the Finnish skies often, in my visit there in 2010 I saw a bright ball of light that "crashed" into the woods, it did not make any impact sound- Now here in France I've seen UFO's and UAP's too. In 2012 me and 2 other people saw a triangle shaped craft hovering above the treeline, it was silent. I've been really open up to sensing and seeing energies since I was a child, that's why I practise Shamanism today, and sometimes I get visitations from interdimensional beings in a trance state or astral projecting or while I sleep. In the 90's nobody speaked about this tall shadow figure with a top hat. In 2020, while a Psychic medium who was initiating me into Lahochi healing, during the seance from distance, I saw this top hat man again, while going through my past lives.

When I was 15 years old, I came home from a grocery shopping trip with my grandma and her best friend, we lived out in the desert in California practically in the middle of nowhere. So shopping trips were once every week or two. When I came into the kitchen from outside there was a man standing in my kitchen with top hat on and what looked like funeral attire. His face was featureless and it was like he was standing in shadow. In the middle of the day. I screamed and ran outside. My grandma's friend had a gun in her car, we went back inside and searched the entire house and didn't find anything out of the ordinary.

As usual, Sleep Paralysis.

They were all just silhouettes and I couldn’t make out any features, but the closer they got to me, the more the air felt static. I was utterly terrified and it was only until I googled sleep paralysis the next day that I saw all these forums about this Hat Man and his accomplices. I am almost certain it was just the result of sleep paralysis hallucination and that I must have read about this guy somewhere and stored that somewhere in my subconscious, but it didn’t make it any less scary!

I had a encounter with the Hat man when I was a very small child. Myself and my 3 siblings have all seen him. I was 4 years old (it would have been 1988) I came out of my bedroom to go to wake up my parents and I seen him standing inside my front door hallway. I screamed and my 3 other siblings came out of their bedrooms and also seen him as well. We all ran to my parents bedroom screaming and told them what we saw. We described him as a tall man wearing a long coat and a top hat. My mom at first didn’t believe us but later that day she also saw him in our downstairs laundry room. He hung around for a day or two. After that the memory of that experience has become a core memory for me. For years my siblings and I have never known who the hat man was until I found out about him a few years ago.

In the middle of the night he woke up and looked around noticing everyone had gone to bed. The room was dark but there was light from the outside and he seen what looked like a the shadow of a man in a top hat and great coat (which looks like a half cape) on the wall as if someone was walking by the living room window. But when he looked out the window....nobody was around. And this is Plainfield Michigan....very rural with thick forests and large corn fields. He had a fedora type hat on (not a top hat) and a trenchcoat and was carrying a briefcase. I saw the side view of him. I didn’t see a face or eyes. He wasn’t especially tall either and I seem to recall him being a little hunched over. Just a little though. It never looked at me or anything. I felt like it didn’t even know I was there! My daughter has seen some crazy stuff. But all apparitions and real sightings etc are demonic. Even aliens are either fallen angels or of the demonic realm. They could have actual beings but they’re of Satan, like the Nephilim were. Not beings that developed on far away planets. They’re also in the oceans. The fact of the matter is ghosts of people do not haunt the living. They’re not allowed to and God says necromancy is a sin. An abomination actually. The spirits people do encounter are demons. Demons are the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim. After they all died in the flood they had no where to go (so-to-speak) and God left them in the earth and they torment humans and animals just like they did when they were alive. Anyway it’s evil demonic beings. Always. And you don’t have to do any of the investigating at night. It makes no difference. You also can’t command them to do or not do anything. They will do what they want and what they are allowed to do (by God) and the only time they have to obey a human is when that person is walking in the authority of Jesus Christ and they command it in the Name of Jesus. They must obey then. But don’t go around flaunting the Lords name if you aren’t a real believer cuz then they will attack you!! Demonic activity IS real. And any activity can lead to true danger if you’re not aware of what you’re dealing with. We are not supposed to provoke or converse with demons. First of all because they’re liars. And they’re knowledgeable and have existed for centuries in that spirit realm. They know all about the people in your family or the family who once inhabited a home they’re still existing in. They have to have a legal right to be attached to some place or some thing or even a person. That legal right is thru sin that is not confessed and repented for, generational ties (still sin being the foundation of the generational curse) and so on. Objects of the occult or other “religions”, trauma can open a door, opening a door to the spirit realm by trying to contact them (mediums, Ouija boards etc) can cause them to inhabit you or the area around you, drug use, alcohol abuse, etc. the list is endless it seems. The only way to be protected is thru the blood of Christ. However you can’t just claim His protection if you aren’t truly saved. The demons know this and will attack you for it. There’s a Scripture about it here: Acts 19:11-20 or www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Acts%2019%3A11-20&version=NKJV So these demons pretend to be a family member or loved one who has passed on. They know the secrets and they’re called familiar spirits. They’ll lie to people thru real mediums. By this I mean mediums who really have a gifting but are using it in the wrong way. They hear from spirits alright but they don’t know the truth of the matter which is that they are demons pretending to be the person the medium is trying to “contact.” Also there’s no doing the work of a medium for God cuz God says NO don’t do it, it is an abomination to me! I had all these gifts since I was very young. I knew Jesus but I didn’t know the Word and my folks believed in God but they didn’t read the Bible or go to church etc. so I grew up in and out of church and both Catholic and Methodist. Also I grew up to believe in psychics and that type of ability and because I had that capability it’s exactly what I started doing with it. But when I was 25 I was told that witchcraft (even white or nature witchcraft) was a sin and abomination to God, which I didn’t know but soon as someone told me I quit it. All of it. Even the gifts that came naturally I stopped it all. Buried it. Cuz I had a love for the Father and I did not want to do anything against Him. I just didn’t know these things. So years went by and I didn’t do anything anymore. I used to “know” things before they happened. Stuff like that. I buried all of it. Then at age 37ish I surrendered my life to the Lord. I asked to be saved and born again many times. Perhaps I was. But the CHANGE came for me when I surrendered my life, my will to His. I believe I was baptized in the Holy Spirit that night. I was alone, praying in my room at nighttime and had a life changing event. After that I became hungry for Gods Word. I read it all the time. I found new friends in the Lord who could mentor me (well He brought them into my life) and I soaked up everything I could learn about the Lord and Scripture etc. After a few years my gifts were resurfacing but I was learning how to use them by the Holy Spirit and thru the Holy Spirit. Eventually I was able to do deliverance on people, see demons, see angels, see spirits of _____ {fill in the blank} on people and know what they were struggling with etc. I would be able to pray thru a bldg or home and discern the entities within it, then we cast them out or would bind them til they could be cast out. It took learning, listening to The Holy Spirit, discernment, obedience and more (real closeness and relationship with the Father thru Christ) to do those things. It didn’t happen overnight. I didn’t expect it to happen. I didn’t even know about it. I didn’t repent and relent my life so I could become a demon hunter! It’s just the outcome of my walk and my giftings. Not everyone can do it. Everyone born again can however exhibit the authority of Christ to get rid of a demon/dark entity. As long as you’re really saved, and sometimes it works even if you aren’t but that’s because you’re being protected. But be careful. If a demon gets cast out of a person or place it will come back to see if the space is empty. If it is it will return with seven demons worse than itself. That’s in a person, when the person is set free and does nothing to maintain his freedom by filling the empty space with the knowledge and wisdom of God, with the fruit of the Holy Spirit. So nothing to mess with in ignorance. The tricks the mediums use and priests etc are forms of witchcraft themselves and do not work on keeping demons out. Sage, crucifixes holy water, etc. are also just ritualistic actions. We have used oil we’ve prayed over and ask God to anoint. But it’s not done ritualistically and nor do we believe in the power of anything over the Name of Jesus. So it’s important to be in a real relationship with the Savior. I’ve often wondered about doing videos on this. (I don’t like being on either end of a camera tho!) Even of praying thru the bldgs. The things I saw in a local church would blow your mind. Blew mine. But I also saw these things by the spirit. They didn’t manifest themselves. Probably because of the power of Jesus with us. But I still thought I was way off. Just thought I must be imagining things. Saw a round circle of people walking around on the outside of the church, and I connected it to the KKayK and a year later an article came out in a newspaper that was about the KKayKs involvement in the area including the churches! It was confirmation for me and those I shared it with. We never did anything about it since we didn’t know. But then a year later we find out it’s true so I spoke with a historian and some other prominent people in our city and found out some wild stuff. This one family still had the “costumes” in their attic! This is a northern central NY area too. Not the south! Not anywhere you’d suspect that kind of stuff to be taking place. Well that’s my testimony and a little bit about a vast subject: the demonic spirit realm. Hope it helps someone. God bless. “Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life, no one comes to the Father except through Him.” John 14:6 ✝️ Amen

Apparently there was a Tik Tok trend, challenging fools to take enough to reach a state of delirium called "Eiriel". Inevitably its said to lead to an interaction with the Hat Man, but also is an extremely dangerous thing to do! I have my own experience with the Hat Man which is probably why I clicked on the video. The concept of a possible extraterrestrial being brings to mind a Star Trek (original) episode called Wolf In The Fold. This story reminded me of that from my youth.

There is criteria for sleep paralysis (like the length of time it can last, the physical symptoms, etc.) that does not fit for all related stories. So while I think that sometimes sleep paralysis is just that, I don’t believe that anything that happens while someone is asleep is automatically explainable in that way. I’m interested to hear another opinion though.

@@elleumm Well it makes me say it from my personal experience ... if it was just a condition as the ''experts'' are telling then i wouldn't got rid of that the way it did .... this condition is Demonic in nature and it doesn't matter if you believe in the existence of those or not ... the reality remains as it is, so humans always try to explain things throught their logic thinking they know everything and understand everything, well no expert can know better than you what you, yourself experienced and under which condition, so that's why i totally disagree with the guy above me who wrote that answer and my proof is my own experience and not what the others who most of the times don't even have experiences of their own are saying ...

When i was a kid, i seen him in Costa Rica while visiting my grandparents. I was in bed sleeping with my mom when i woke up and seen something come out of the closet! I couldnt move , even though i could feel my mom next to me i couldnt wake her up , i couldnt move , i couldnt talk and it moved back and forth at the end of the bed . Looking at me the whole time. All i could do is close my eyes and feel scared. It felt like it was there for ever , i just remembered waking up and it was day time and i jumped out of bed and told my mom. Thank God that was the only time i seen him and i hope never to see it again!

It's very strange, as a very young child I used to have a recurring nightmare. I was no older than five years old and I used to see a man wearing a suit and tie, but he had no head! When I saw the the suited figure in the Anonymous symbol, it bought back my childhood memories.

Hello Laura. My experience of the 'hat man', around 8 years ago, was initially jarring as he appeared in shadow at the bottom of my bed. However, he wasn't malevolent - that is, I know he wasn't there to harm me and looking back at my experience, I felt kind of 'warm' toward him and as time went on, I even felt a sense of protection which I still feel today. It makes me feel a little sad that so many others had terrible experiences of him and I only wish that he would make amends with those people somehow, because I truly believe that if these individuals wished to harm us, they would have.

He reminds me of the film “Monsters Inc.” when they are able to derive pure energy from the children’s fear of them when they enter their closets and scare them. But once they are shown that they can derive far, far, more energy from their laughter than fear changes their entire game plan. Great movie back when Pixar was always a guaranteed success film. Highly recommended!!

I saw a "hat man" in Mary Kings Close underground in Edinburgh. I didn't find out until later that it was a ghost called the watcher. It was a multisensory experience. I saw in the darkness the blackest shadow of a man wearing a frocked jacket, calf high boots and a fedora style hat. He crept towards me and he felt full of amused malice, the closer he got the more his face became clear but only in my mind, I could still only see his shadow. I screamed and pulled another stranger on the tour in front of me (I know) then the lights flipped back on and he was no longer a presence. Just one of many paranormal incidents I've experienced.

My girlfriend has been seeing spirits for most her life. It started getting worse when they would talk through her. One night when we pulled in to rest stop she kept looking at a bench. I finally got out of her that there was a spirit with a top hat sitting on it. She described a beaver skin , turn of the sentry to the 50s type hat. She never saw it again. Thank you kindly , Kevin

Watching videos about this being is only something i can do in certain mindsets, mostly because I've seen this shadow or thing throughout my life, its never a good feeling when i catch him somewhere. But i would say the most terrifying moment was the 1st time i watched a video about him, not knowing that i would come 'face to face' with the fact that it wasnt just a scary figment of my imagination... That other people have seen him, have their own experiences, which just makes everything about my own personal once more real. But i do love your videos so much Laura, so i just saved it to freak myself out a bit today, haha ❤

Here’s something that I have kept to myself, with the exception of a few family members. I have seen the Hatman several times in my 66 years, but for me he doesn’t represent evil, instead, I see him as a physical representation of Odin! My reasoning, for this is because he wears a Big Brim Hat, and a Dark Cloak, along with a Walking Stick or a Spear in his hand (it’s hard to tell in the dark). The first time I saw him, I was about five or six years old, and I thought there was actually two other people standing behind him, but it turned out to be the silhouette of two Ravens, one on each shoulder! He never said a word, but would point with his Walking Stick/Spear at me as if to say: I am watching you! Most of the time I would not be able to move Physically, with the exception of my eyes. There has been, however, a couple of times where he would wave for me to come with him, and I actually did, but it was only so he could show me the Night Sky by pointing to the North Sky, and when I turned to ask a question, I found myself alone outside in the Dark, not too far from the house, but far enough so I could see the most of the sky. When I spoke to family members, they all assumed I was Sleepwalking, and Dreaming at the same time. I’ll say this much, it has always felt real, and I never felt afraid not once! As time has gone by, I’ve gotten older and grey, but the tall Hatman a.k.a. Odin, has never aged from what I can see, because it’s hard to tell in the Dark. The visitations got less, and less as I got older, but I still have this feeling that he’s out there still watching!

All my life I thought we were the only ones who experienced the hat man. Of course We didn't call him hat man. Actually we called him Thomas because he told me telepathically once that was his name. This was in the late 80s early 90s. It wasn't until about 15 years ago that I saw a video on KZbin talking about him. I couldn't believe it ,all my life I thought we(my family and friends that slept over) were the only ones who had experienced his presence. He use to scare me and my sister so bad. He would show up at the bedroom door and just watch us. Sometimes he even had other little shadow creatures with him that would scurry around the edges of the room. After a while he would come in the room and stand in the middle of the room between me and my sisters beds. Then one time I was sleeping on the couch and I just turned off the TV to go 2 sleep. Then my dog started barking , and I was just going to ignore the dog in hopes he'd stop barking soon because I didn't want to get up and open the back door for him to go to the bathroom. That's why I assumed he was barking. So I just tried to go to sleep ,but then Mr Thomas popped his head over the couch so he was looking me right in the face. That is when he said to me clear as if a real person was in my face talking ti me, he said "Get the Damn dog!" It scared me so bad I wouldn't dare move. Then he disappeared. My dog settled and laid down. Another time I had a guy I snuck into the house and he was sleeping in my closet. I started to fall asleep, I had one of those dreams where you're half asleep half awake and I felt this energy come storming into the room. I couldn't see it,but I felt it. It felt so negative . I called out to the guy sleeping in my closet and told him I just had a creepy dream ,he said "Oh my God I just had a scary dream too. I told him tell me his first. He said; A shadow man that was wearing like a cowboy hat or something like that, came into the room and opened up the closet door ,pointed to the window and said " u gotta go!" And behind him was a lady with a light blue gown on & a little girl. The little girl ran into your bathroom and the lady looked at me ,put her finger to her mouth to say shhh and she followed the little girl into the bathroom. When I told him how I didn't see anyone come in the room but I felt someone come in the room ,we put 2 and 2 together. We were so freaked out we ended up leaving and sleeping in the guys car that night . About 3 or 4 days later after I had not been home for a few days,My mom saw me sleeping on the couch and she woke me up. She told me" oh my god Kathy I thought u came home yesterday I was talking to my friend - side note my mom's deaf and deaf people had video chat well before smart phones. So she was video chatting her friend she said when suddenly she got pushed in her chair and as someone ran past her, she thought it was me and she turned fo yell at me but as she turned to look she saw a lady , with a little girl run into my bed room . I asked her to describe what the lady looked like. She described the same exact lady my friend saw. There was some details she mentioned that my friend didn't so I called and asked my friend to describe the lady again. Sure enough , it no doubt was the same lady with a child. It got to a point where I was getting tired of Mr. Thomas or hatman scaring me almost every week. That when he showed up again Instead of getting scared I got angry. I told him Go Away! And he did. I didn't see him for months when he showed up again. I screamed Stop scaring me and leave me alone. After that, I never saw him again. Because of that , I sometimes wonder if maybe it wasn't evil that maybe he was just someone from a different dimension studying humans. Just watching people. Because I do feel that me eventually getting the courage to stand up to him, did help me stand up for myself in other situations it Helped me face other fears I had. He never hurt us, he just scared us really bad. I feel once I told him to go away and the fact he did then waited month to show up again, then when I yelled at him to stop scaring me and leave me alone,he disappeared and hasn't shown himself to me since, makes me feel that fear may have not been its intention. The fact he respected my wishes , is not something I think evil would do. So I sometimes wonder

I saw him too. When I was 11 years old. He only came when I was alone and never said a word. He just stood there, either laughing or or just staring at me. It lasted a few months. As soon as I asked what he wanted, I never saw him again.
