I resonate with you when you said we create these arbitrary rules/ goals for ourselves and feel guilty when we don’t achieve them. I used to write daily to-do lists, and feel guilty if I didn’t complete them all in one day. I was sick of feeling like a failure, and beating myself up, so I decided to do a weekly to-do list, rather than daily. That way, I’m giving myself room for “life” and keeping myself accountable. I think any small changes you can make in your habits, patterns, and routines, can bring drastic results in an unexpected way. Thank you got sharing your thoughts ♥️

It's so silly how we do that right? Maybe we're socially conditioned make rules and follow them? I don't know. Giving ourselves room for life is the most important thing. This should be taught in schools :) I wish I had known earlier. Thanks sis ❤

I used to do this as well. Shifting from a daily to a weekly todo has been a gamechanger. I also like to do top three priorities for the week, when I’ve finished them I feel great.

Sophie, I can relate to your sharing. I had an extremely busy summer at work and created so much stress that I developed panic attacks. This was a real eye-opener for me as my mind and body was saying to slow down and be more mindful. Being a perfectionist like you, I am finding it has created tension in my actions because I wasn't going with the flow. And please don't worry about your editing. I wish I had not allowed them to effect my life. Remember we are spiritual beings having a human experience. Put out positive and you will get positive. Find JOY in every day. Your message is always incredibly valid and whether or not your editing meets your standards, (it certainly meets ours!) the message is always so worthwhile and thought through. I do really appreciate that your videos are always calm and quiet- consistent so I can watch a playlist without nasty shocks. The 5 minute strategy is good against perfectionism, too- and it gets the important things done. And it’s so important to stop chasing dreams, sacrificing the present constantly, giving everything to a future possibility. It’s not worth it. (Even when you achieve it) Another thought-provoking and timely video, thank you Sophie.

@@mietonen maybe I wasn’t clear-it was late! I mean that sacrificing the present in the pursuit of the future is not worth it. *Thank you for this beautiful video Sophie.* It made me breathe a little deeper, feel a little calmer, and gain a little more perspective (not gonna lie, I did tear up a bit at one point too). A couple were out of town, a few were preoccupied with personal stuff, and the rest had other shifts to work. There was one particular guy we thought we could count on, but no. It was a TIRING night for me and my colleague, and you know what? We deserved it. We were too hard on the said caterer for some mistakes he made, and we should've handled it better.

I get preyed upon by contractor scams because I have no husband. I tried to have a nice yard. My whole lot is stricken with blight. I LOVE gardening! I get to watch all of my trees, shrubs, lawn, and bulbs slowly die. 😔 I cannot even enjoy gardening. Everything I want to plant will just die. The overwhelm is incredible. No family support. Hi Sophie, you do have a very nice community of subscribers. I agree, I’m 52 and I try to remember that people don’t give us near the thought we think they are. So if we do make a mistake, it’s very likely they didn’t even notice, and even if they did, how much of their time do we think they’re spending thinking about it/us?? We often give ourselves way too much credit. Great topic today. Watching from Michigan 🦌🎄 .
