I used to have anger problems and social anxiety, and silently staring at someone, wanting to act violently, _imagining_ yourself acting violently - throwing a nearby desk at them, stabbing them in the eye with the pencil in your hand, etc., while they, in real time, were being stupid/yelling at you/whatever is what I imagine the second one is portraying. That’s only what *I* imagine, though, and that’s only one way to portray what the second one could mean 🤷‍♀️
