A wedding ceremony won't change the heart of a man. If his idea of relationship in life is the routine 2X a week dinner, tv/movie, sex ... a wedding band will not change him. He is showing you who he is. There's nothing magical about a wedding band, whether you a "wife" or not.

I’m struggling with a man who love bombed me and is a covert narcissist…. We got married quickly. He’s Emotionally abusive but still has so many good parts about him that make it hard to know if we only fight toxically when I get defensive and thus in my masculine energy. I am trying to practice this without “fawning” which is challenging to know the difference in the intensity of the marriage, but your channel is helpful in knowing the ways that I can even subtly create healthy boundaries that make me feel like I respect myself while being confused and frustrated in the moment.

If he’s a covert narc and emotionally abusive I would ask myself why I am okay staying with this. Of course he has so many good qualities if he’s a narcissist. That’s a large part of the personality disorder.

Get a lawyer and get a divorce, and get into weekly therapy. You need serious professional help and watching KZbin videos isn’t going to help you. That man isn’t going to change and it’s only going to get worse.

How do you handle anger and resentment because he blames everything on you and says you want everything your way when everything is really only his way and you’re tired of feeling taken for granted, unappreciated and disrespected and he continues creating more distance?

Give him the distance he craves. Focus on quantum dating and possibly finding a mate who actually cares about your needs.

Just walked away from the man I love He was becoming distant he was not respecting me or my boundaries He was constantly snapping at me I was moving house and travelling He didn’t offer to help once So I decided this was not the man I wanted to be with Every time we would argue or we would have the discussion he would say he is not good at relationships But he would still be in a relationship with me When I decided to walk away he got very angry and said I’ve been telling you I’m not good at relationships And that I was doing this to stroke my ego He said I constantly bring drama ( me reacting at his disrespect) He said I’m mentally draining He was very horrible He has stop talking to me But he will come back he always comes back So we shall see I’m on vacation so I’m away for 3 weeks This is good for us to have a break but I really don’t want a relationship with someone who doesn’t want to be a protector or provider or lead the family So I think I will just walk away for good

Hey Adrienne, thank you so much! I needed this... What would you recommend to your younger subcribers? I'm now in my first relationship and my partner and me are fighting a lot recently. And some things are making me feel unsafe (e.g. him not having a stable income yet etc.) I love him but I need to feel safety... Should I also walk away?

You do realize that telling women to "pull away" and to not engage until he acts "right" is a form of manipulation correct?
@AdrienneEverheart
@AdrienneEverheart Жыл бұрын
Do you realize I didn’t say that? This is about getting space instead of getting abused or misused.

I think a lot of women need to hear this advice from Adrienne. When men are domineering and not meeting their partner's needs, pulling away from someone is not manipulative it's having autonomy and refusing to be submissive. Some women in abusive relationships could actually get physically or emotionally abused by taking this advice. In a healthy relationship a man would simply have to accept that the female was disengaging herself from him due to his lack of commitment and compassion. What is manipulative is a man holding a woman hostage in an unsatisfying uncomitted relationship.
@joekerr4018

@Adrienne Everheart you did say to pull away and he'll chase her. That IS a form of manipulation if she expects him to chase her every time she feels some sort of way
