@@Chuked I agree (and the Bible does too) that it's a man's duty to give his life for his family. That's the #1 duty of a husband, to provide and protect, through suffering and pain. To love unconditionally without expecting to be loved back. God > Wife > Kids > Everything else As a man, I've mostly only read about how a husband should be and not nearly enough about men v women at large. I frankly don't know if this dynamic would mean I'm inherently worth less. It feels wrong somehow. I'd have to think about it. I also have to read more from the Church about that man v woman dynamic. "There is neither man nor woman, Jew nor Gentile, you are all one in Christ Jesus." Men and women have the same capacity for intelligence, morality, art, etc. My favorite Catholic thinkers tend to be women! (Faustina, Therese, Theresa...) Our average IQ is the same, but our bodies are visibly different. Paul wrote the best rubric for marriage in Ephesians 5 (forgive my paraphrasing): "Women, submit to your husbands just as the church submits to Christ, patiently waiting for him and staying loyal to him. Men, SACRIFICE YOURSELVES for your wives just as Christ sacrificed himself for his church! Tend to them as your own body, for no one hates their own body, instead they take care of it and give it what it needs." I think trying to brand women as "subservient" and little else gives the secularists ammo to brush us off as sexists. Note how Mary, a human woman, is the QUEEN OF HEAVEN.
