It's unfortunate to see tactics that aim to discredit a winning player for the benefit of a weaker team. Comparing the ban on his e-cigarette to a verified mobile phone without a SIM card is absurd. This not only questions the Indian team's performance but also challenges the integrity of FIDE's administration. He must be sued for defamation case. He is unable to digest his team's defeat which straight away questions his coaching. Kramnik has lost my respect after this shameful act.

I don't know why people are hating on Kramnik for questioning the use of phone. That's called right to information, and there's nothing wrong in it. If ChessBase India is not officially related to Indian players, how does questioning them affect team India in any way? Also, even though phone was found to be free of any suspicious use, they still should not allow it. Phones are very smart devices with tons of features that could be exploited and used for cheating by some evil genius. There's always a risk, especially as these gadgets are getting smarter every day. Any device that has slots for SIM cards, bluetooth, WiFi support, internet features, ringtones, vibrations, proximity sensors, signal emitters, etc shouldn't be allowed in playing arena. Only professional video cameras should be used.

You're right. Kramnik used to top ranked player and is a smart person. He even clarified that he's not against team India, but against the use of phones on any table in tournament. But people still trolling him. He's also one of the most experienced person still active in Chess, so he knows better about cheating possibilities than many others. Could be that he's gone sceptical due to old age. Also, I think people are hugely underestimating the misuse of gadgets.
