Bizarre set of parameters to test city cars. I would have thought manoeuvrability, visibility and ride comfort over rough surfaces would be key criteria. Also, eliminating cars based on a subjective views in a single category seems flawed thinking. Surely scoring all the cars in all the categories would produce a fairer result. I suspect one of the reasons the Zoe has been such a good seller is that not only is it a decent car but its always offered a reasonable range, making it an easy car to live with. (BTW, the range you quote for the Fiat is wrong). The Honda is undoubtedly a good car but for someone with limited access to overnight charging (which is common in cities), it’s poor range could be a major PITA as well as making it virtually unusable for even the shortest weekend trips outside of the city. And then there is the price…..
@fabienlagoueyte98752 жыл бұрын
The Zoe also has a major advantage for city use (at least if you live in France), if you are reliant on public AC chargers which I think might be the case for a lot of people, it litteraly stomps the other four cars on charge speed thanks to its 22kW AC capability.

@IanMcc10002 жыл бұрын
@@riccardomarinoni6733 Plenty of cars have a larger battery than the stated usable amount. Battery degradation is related to the amount of DC fast charging more than anything else, extremes of temperature notwithstanding. The Honda e will rarely be charged at a DC fast charger, because owners will be mostly charging at home. This is true of most EV owners at the moment, but this will change when EVs are the only cars for sale. If looked after, the degradation on newer EV batteries tails off at about 80-85% so most. This percentage is reached quicker with DC charging. All of the current generation cars have good battery management systems to prevent/minimize degradation and it looks like many of these cars will see out well over 200k miles.

Interesting, the Honda e is certainly impressive, although, what is most important in a modern EV is firstly range, secondly range and thirdly range. Picking a car that the also offers a lot of space can‘t hurt either, plus it should also be easy to operate as well for all the basics, e.g. the AC. If I had to dig deeply into confusing and lagging touchscreen menu structures to control and set climate control, it is a no go for me. Among all tested cars, the Renault covers all these basics well. The Fiat also, spacewise not so, but everyone has different needs, in my opinion, the Renault, among those cars, is offering the best overall package and besides of the missing ACC, feature wise it ticks everything I would wish to have in an EV. Spaceship style cockpits are certainly fun to have and look at but what is really important here is having great range in summer and winter time.

For 90% of drivers it's never an issue. For the rest it may be an issue once a year. The test is wrong regarding the needed parameters welcomed in cars with such purposes, and it feels biased from the beggining. I lost the intetest in watching it until the end because of that.

Car journalists don't crash test cars. Manufacturers do

Nice to see but for me range is the standard to go for so the Zoe or Peugeot for me. Honda, mini and 500 - just to limited in spite of the gadgets. And the lowest range won - really! Was this sponsored by Honda?

Rubbish choice, Zoe 50 Best Choice as it will take my Take apart electric mobility scooter, with good range so don't have to charge it so often

Pug is winner but Corsa e is same car just cheaper! No one is buying the Honda.

Poor test , just as not everyone works in an office, people don't drive on test tracks everyday. If you are testing a city car test it in the city . No way should the least practical car of the two finalists have won with it's pathetic range and load capacity. City car or not I don't want to be charging it up every five minutes.

Typical motoring journalists. Small expensive car with a crap range but it’s the winner cause it’s the most fun to drive in the way a typical journalist drives

These duмваsses eliminated both the Zoe and the 500 from the first test and kept the Honda and the Mini which have laughable range and excessive price. Definitely not a paid advertisement 🙄

I'm sorry but there is an error with the Peugeot 208, the real battery is not 56, 50kwh (45 utilizables). In this test there are many errors, I understand that you like the Peugeot for its aesthetics, but giving false data is not good. For the price they all have, the best is clearly the Zoe, it has also been on the market for years and is proven to work. The Honda's battery is ridiculous and the interior doesn't matter, for that price it should have a minimum of 50Kwh
@atreyuidaho2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the range of the 208 would not be good if the battery were 56 kwh, but it’s 46, so it’s fine! The Zoe has 52 kwh, so logically it has better range! The winner is the e-208 👍
@adrianromero922 жыл бұрын
@@atreyuidaho Winner why? Regarding battery, consumption and autonomy, the Zoe is better, another thing is that you like the design of the Peugeot more.
@adrianromero922 жыл бұрын
@@atreyuidaho In Carwow with the Peugeot, battery of 50 (real 45) a range of 161 miles With the Zoe with the 52 battery (real 50) in the same test they achieved a range of 229 miles. The winner is the Renault Zoe

@@adrianromero92 i like everything more with the 208, the ride, the comfort, the fast charging capacity. What’s the point of a better range if charging is a hassle?
@adrianromero922 жыл бұрын
@@atreyuidaho According to official data, the Peugeot can charge at 100Kw(DC) and the Zoe at 50kw(DC) The Peugeot needs a little more than half an hour to reach 80% and the Renault 1 hour and 5 minutes. Also I doubt that the 100kw are constant. On a 22kw(AC) charger the Peugeot needs 4 hours 3 minutes and the Renault 3 hours 15 minutes. Counting that the Zoe has at least 30km more autonomy, I don't see it so bad either.

I'm sorry, but deciding which CITY car is the best by testing which drives better on a TRACK is stupid. Almost as if you were looking for an excuse to drive on the track. Not often that I give a thumb down on your videos, but you deserved to get one this time.
@grahamcullimore66602 жыл бұрын
I stopped watching once it was clear that your first priority for a city car used to eliminate the first two was how they drove on a road that is about as far away from city driving as you can possibly get. All your credibility gone, I'm afraid.

Essentially honda ... Make it have a longer range like 200 WLTP and it'll sell if it's not much more expensive and bring the current version down in price as a base model
