Great video and commentary! Thanks for sharing. Quick comment, but I fully agree that this situation does not call for a gun being drawn, even though I realize that is not the point of the exercise. If anything, a blade would be better, or even pepper spray if the situation does not call for lethal force. Also, a lot of times, while still being in the verbal phase of the fight, one could and should try to get their hands on and covertly palm, say, the pepper spray. Again, I realize this is not the point of the exercise, but it is worth pointing out just the same.

So, statistically, that is rare in real life. I believe most bad guys either bring only one gun, or perhaps even no gun (with the gun being fake, though we never assume anything is fake). But even if that is true. (For example, right now, I do personally carry two pistols.) Well, the basic principals still apply here. Also, either the bad guy is going to use only one hand, and shoot and retain his pistol badly. Or, they will commit to both hands to retain and shoot just one pistol at a time. For those who watch way too many Hollywood movies, and dream of using two pistols at the same time, with one in each hand, keep in mind that both pistols will now be used and retained poorly. With a bad guy like that, he is actually giving you some kind of tactical advantage, especially in a close quarter situation where guns are not ideal in the first place. I would be a lot more worried about a bad guy who carries two blades in this situation, especially if they know what they are doing.

I train at Redbeard Combatives and we've been finding that the more weapons you have, the more weapons you have to defend. Like David pointed out, it's not always that easy to get your gun out and on target. It's actually pretty hard to do that in a way that you can defend legally after the fact! So if you end up entangled where you are trying to get 1 pistol out, you also now have to defend the 2nd pistol. I'm just a blue belt so take me with a grain of salt, but we've found it to not be a straight up benefit to conceal more weapons. In fact, sometimes in force-on-force we'll toss one gun out of the fight (depending on surroundings) to reduce the variables.

Would be cool if we could get a Breakdown of a real fight he was a part of. This was obiously staged.

Staged only to the sense of we know what our objectives are but 100% improvised otherwise
