20 minute Yoga for back pain is a class to both stretch and strengthen the back and strengthen the abdominal muscles. This class was suggested by Pink hope. April Kuan asked for yoga for good posture...which comes from a strong back. If you have back pain, please be mindful practicing these postures. We want to be sure that it helps and doesn't hurt. If your back hurts more when you do backbends, be very gentle with the backbends here, start slowly. If your back hurts more when you fold forward, don't go past 90 degrees fording forward and use a strap for the seated postures so you can sit up tall. Also, sit on the edge of a folded up blanket or pillow. As always listen to your body and rest when needed.

When Lesley passed, I took a time away from practicing with her. It feels so incredible to be back on the mat with you again Lesley. You were an incredibly gifted teacher, you lift me up! Thank you for all you did while you were embodied, and for leaving these videos for us to remember and honor you by.

I have felt the same way!. After the news of her passing, i did try to continue practicing yoga with Lesley, but every time I opened one of her videos I just started crying.. I tried "replacing" her, but i couldnt find anyone at least remotely as good as she was.. I regret not saying the actual "thank you" to her (hitting the like button doesnt count) while she lived, but i am so grateful she had been part of my life! She passed away to soon, but oh what legacy she has left behind to shine!. She touched so many people AROUND THE WORLD!

Ah, Lesley! Thank you! I have been sick this last week and, consequently, my back is killing me from lying down all the time. Plus, it's Pms week which means I'm low motivated and it's harder to be self-positive. This was a brilliant, gentle, loving recovery video today! Much gratitude to you.

I'd really love a quickie yoga for upper back and shoulders. I'm over a keyboard almost all day and no matter what type of chair or desk set up I have pain always creeps into those areas because of it. I enjoy the quickie classes the best as I can complete them before work and they help me set positive intentions for the rest of the day. Thank you for all you do. :)

Hi Leslie, I haven't commented in a while but please know I am forever grateful for what you do here. I have been having neck and shoulder pain for the past week or so from sitting too much at my desk and stress at work and thankfully it is subsiding now from exercise and less sitting but I have also been, (carefully) practicing your different neck and back focused videos and they have been wonderful! I love that I can search your page for whatever is bothering me, from depression to hip pain and find a tool to support and care for myself.

Loved everything about this video. All the sequences really helped with my lower back pain. I did the hip stretching video beforehand and my body has never felt more relaxed. Thanks so much for providing these videos, I'm doing 1-3 daily.

Thanks Lesley! I find your slower, deep stretches so useful and they are more profound at clearing old emotional baggage than any talk type therapy! I do find that I need to do some fast dance type exercise with them as well (not at the same time lol) as that helps shift the old stagnant energy that comes up...yes I am blessed to be that sensitive although sometimes it is also a bain :) ...and all this is great for the physical health as well, fantastic! thank you

I wanted a slow and steady practice, but also one that would be good for my back. So even though I don't have any back pain at the moment, this was such a nice and soothing stretch regardless :)

Hello Madam, I am a huge fan of your yoga video. ...its just amazing...can't thank u enough...watching your video surely encouraging. ...i have been following it from past 6 Months....I really feel good about myself. ... The prayers and names of asanas are knowledgeable. ..many know the asanas but not the name of it....Thank you for explaining each and every bit in detail.....in the country where I live have no access for fitness or yoga classes....your yoga videos came as a boon..I have 2 aims in life to do all the asanas correctly along with the video and to meet u personally. ....Thank you once again....

I love this video, I have been dealing with back pain for weeks and had to pause my yoga. This is a great one to reconnect and start again!! I have been looking for a good Yoga mat for a while. i have fibro in my right shoulder. i love you have these options for pain, however i would love if you would ponder yoga for fibro. you are a wonderful instructor and i would be eternally greatful!

Hi Lesley ! I recently started a job where I have to sit at a desk for so long during the day... and I started to have lower back issues. I never thought I could feel so much pain in my lower hips/back from sitting, even though I practice yoga daily. Thanks for this video it has helped me identify where and how to stretch and create space and slowly heal my lower back. Could you do another video on yoga for the back ? Thank you !!!!

I tried it already and I felt much better after !! I will try to do more of the laying on the back with the knees at a 90 degrees angle, and malasana of course. But if you ever have time to do a video for a deeper stretch/strengthening, it would be very very much appreciated :) But in any case, thank you for your videos and advices !!!

Hi Leslie!! I’ve been following with your videos for about a year now and I’ve really enjoyed them :-) I’ve been taking your advice on staying in a yoga pose for a certain amount of time every day to really get a good stretch and relieve tension. I’ve been having neck/shoulder/upper back pain for a few months now and was wondering what yoga poses you suggest would be the best to do every day to really stretch those muscles!

Hi Lesley, I wholeheartedly thank you for putting so much information, clear instructions on all your videos. I was following beginners course on your channel and am at the 5th day at the moment. 3 days back I was helping a friend on her stall and had to lift really heavy bags n walk some distance. I do not have any existing back problems but due to lifting heavy bags I have ended up spraining my back. There is light pain. not in a specific area but whole back feels stiff. Would you recommend I do this back routine or should I just wait till back pain completely goes away goes away and then maybe start from 6th day onwards. Thank you, Tushar

Thank you for your lessons. I find them helpful and relaxing, aleso they are not the easiest neither the toughest lessons, just to the point. Could you please make a video about how to do a good yoga stretch after rock-climbing? Usually two days after a climbing session my sholder blades are really stiff and cause some headache. Also the forearms up to the shoulders are really stressed. I always try to stretch but I have not found a good stretch session which would help to seal and relax. Thank you.

Fightmaster Yoga Thank you for your comment. and compassion :D. My friends sometimes ask me to do some yoga after the climbing with them, but I don´t know what could be good. There are a lot of climbers who need yoga. It is important for the balance, strength and inner power, presence-meditation-courage-concentration and stretching, you name it. PS: After having exercised together with this video yesterday just once, the back pain (that I had had for several days) went away, something unblocked. Cool. Thank you.

I'm thinking of getting certified and so far I've found one retreat to do that in Austria... since going to the US probably isn't practical for me.

While I did enjoy this class as a back strengthener, I was really looking for a class to help relieve back pain (as a post cardio class after a lot of lower-body work) and relax the muscles. It being called a class For Back Pain, I figured that's what it was. I look forward to integrating this class into my core-focus days..but is there another one of your classes (other than the one for sciatica) for lower back pain with more stretching and relieving as opposed to strengthening that you could recommend?
