Love that each day builds a little on what went before... still hate downward dog though, and so many of them in the last couple of days!!! It's the rush of blood to my head I think, and no respite from it in forward fold either

I'm a 65 yr old male... we retired 5 yrs ago and have always been active but because of Covid and not working, I've become rather lazy..lol. the breath cues are great on this one! matching my breathing to the poses is one part of yoga that is always a struggle for me and the constant cues were so helpful.

If it helps anyone out there doing yoga alone and if one has the equipment, I use my tv connected to the internet to follow your class and then I take my ipad and record myself and then I can review the recording to see if I'm doing anything wrong. I realized that my plank wasn't much of a plank and that my downward dog was kind of bent lol :) PS Good timing for the dog to pass by while in upward dog lol :D :D

I have been practising your videos for years and practised the 90 day challenge several times now. but not the last year having had severe pelvic girdle pain through pregnancy and still suffering somewhat at 6 months. postpartum. You recently pointed me in the direction of your yoga for sciatica video and I practised it a couple of times, just going through the motions of being back on my mat and hearing your voice has been really good. So I've set myself the challenge to complete the 30 day beginner challenge to try and get myself back into the yoga habit and hopefully start to get my body functioning normally again. Hopefully one day in the not too distant future I can get back to my usual fitness and join you on my yoga pal! Thanks for creating fantastic videos for every level. I'll keep checking in and doing a little yoga every day! Xx

I am loving this 30 days for beginners challenge. I'm not entirely a yoga newbie, but I've had very little detailed instruction on the poses. I love that you're doing that and slowly adding new things. Yoga has been making a huge difference for me physically and mentally. I always thought you could not get fit with yoga, boy was I wrong. I love this! I never felt better! This is better than going to the gym any day! My chiropractor suggested yoga for my back and I feel wonderful I am hooked! I do it every day! Thank you for this.

I started this journey a few days ago, and while I was running today in the morning, I felt a backache and I just couldn't continue running any more. I thought if I'd make the breathing exercises that I have learned from you, maybe it would help. And it did! I made the standing breathing exercises and suddenly my backache was gone!! You're like a mother on this journey to me, and I can't thank enough to you for this. Namaste!

Hi Lesley! Very fun to try yoga. I like being able to try it alone in my home and set the bar according to my own strength/flexibility without feeling mal placé and uncomfortable. I've just finished a 6k run in an exhausting pulse, and it feels so good finishing of with some yoga. I've been stiff as a refrigerator my whole life, but I can finally feel some result and how the poses now feel lighter and easier. I've been doing the 90Fix and only have a few more left to do - then I got sick with winter's germs! It has been refreshing to get back into yoga by doing this 30 day challenge. Just finished day 8 of the yoga challenge and feeling great! I always wanted to start doing yoga to help me with, not only my flexibility and strength, but with my mentality. I suffer from depression and mood swings and this has definitely helped me clear my mind and meditate. From one's mind that constantly races and overthinks, I believe yoga is giving me a sense of clarity. Thank you so much! I've even suggested this to my best friend; so I'm hoping she starts it when she has the time. I can't wait to see what else is in store during this journey! :)

Hi Lesley, thank you very much for this challenge. I have to admit, I was doing yoga regurally in a class 3 years ago, I stopped and now I am truly a beginner. Your course help me get back to basics and to keep a daily habit at home. But I have two questions, I hope you can answer them: 1. I have terrible posture, my head looks like it's falling forward while standing and while downDog It feels like it's hanging. I try to keep it up, to create a line with my spine. Will it be better from time to time, or do I have to train this thing on it's own? 2. Why do we get up in the end by pressing with the left arm up? Thank you so much

I find the transitions very challenging because of my weight hindering both how quickly I can get up and how far forward I can jump my feet when it's time to come to standing from down dog. I don't know if you've dealt with that before but if you have any advice I'm interested!

+Natasha Kingston Yes, it's difficult for a lot of people to get forward from Down dog. The best thing to do is to keep walking forward and you can progressively use fewer and fewer steps. Eventually you can try to jump forward and if you don't make it all the way, then walk the rest of the way forward. :-)

Hey Lesley! I'm not sure how to align my hips in the triangle pose. I can touch my toes if I push my hips back, should I avoid that?

+Tania Bou Samra Thank you for your question. If you hinge forward from the front hip crease you can then touch wherever you reach. Try to keep your torso above your front leg and your front hip under you. You can shift your hips back a little...just be sure you're not trying to force anything. :-)
