What's the best way to time a split screen interaction? Say you want to have a conversation with yourself without doing jump cuts, how would you time it out if you don't have a _stand in_ to help out?
@VFXProductionsRT4 жыл бұрын
what if you try with also recording the audio on your phone of the first take, then play it back during the second take to know the timing? I think I've seen that audio recording/playback technique multiple times in behind the scenes of cloning shots before

The title part can also be done by placing a video inside of iut instead of a test? At the moment I can't get a video edited inside a clip right because of the camera movements... Tripot shots are easey because the world does not move but hand held video's are hard now because I want the inserted clip locked at a point in a room just as there was a tv or something.
@stuff_i_liked18154 жыл бұрын
Hmmm I’m curious to see what split screening for pacing would look like. How would you edit that together to change pacing?
@VFXProductionsRT4 жыл бұрын
so for instance if you have one character speak, then a pause, then the other character speaks...in post you might decide to get rid of the pause or even have the dialogue overlap like they are interrupting. So using split screen you can move the second characters part to come in earlier by moving it in the timeline. We've done it a few times in Film Riot shorts.
@stuff_i_liked18154 жыл бұрын
VFX Productions but if you change the shot... Let’s say OTS on Guy 1 - talks and leaves a long pause then you switch to OTS on Guy 2 you can cut that pause out in the edit. I’m wondering if you stayed on Guy 1 or you did it as a 2 shot would you still have a way to edit pacing in the same manner? I keep seeing it in my head and can’t see it working. Let’s say in the background someone was walking. Once you split and edit them that person would walk halfway ( behind Guy 1 ) then would t show up behind Guy 2 at the correct time cuz of the shift in the clip no?
@VFXProductionsRT4 жыл бұрын
@@stuff_i_liked1815 You're right that it can't always be done especially if something in the background is changing. And you could cut to a different setup to cut out gaps too, it's really about having another option to possibly use in post and it isn't too uncommon. And another example for something we did was a shot (with no alternate setups or shots to cut to in the edit) with a character speaking then once they finish another character in the background walks and the camera pans with them. We then changed it in post for the character to walk/camera to pan while the main character is still speaking for it to flow more naturally.

not really much to it, follow the steps they gave for the white eyes, instead of the emboss and shadow effects, add either a tint effect or a colorizer effect and pick the color you want, then add glow to it several times with varying brightness and feather.. then if you want flares, you can add lens flare effect. The steps are basically the same just add those effects and play with the numbers until you're happy with the results. Generally you want lower brightness for lower feather and brighter with more feather.. depending on how big of a glow area you want.
