Funny thing…this basement is COMPLETELY different than the one in the episode where they bought the house, including the disappearance of the huge boulder that was there and couldn’t be removed! They even talked about how he wouldn’t be able to have a pool table!

If you watch the ep titled something like "My house is your house"...where Rob has to clear up a few things with his tax man and why he pays Jerry Helper $37.50 a year it's explained this issue. When Rob and Laura were looking for a house and they found the one they wanted but Millie and Jerry took it when they thought Rob and Laura didn't want it. Rob and Laura got mad about it but they all made up and decided to go look for another house but neither party wanted to split the $200 Jerry put down for the house so they call the realtor who tells them that the model house next door was for sale. They decide to let Jerry have the model house because it was $200 cheaper. Jerry's house is the one who got the rock because as Rob explained it, water ran down that rock and flooded both basements so they each paid the $37.50 per year to clear the water and seal the outside of the houses. Sorry if I didn't explain that better but watch that episode but that's why there's no big rock in Rob's basement...he took the cheaper house that didn't have the rock because of Jerry paying that $200 in cash and couldn't cancel the check to get out of it.

That $300 bet back in 1962 is worth about $2,970.00 today. And the $900 that Buddy's brother would have won is worth about $8,882.00. No wonder they were so upset! 👀

I was thinking about the worth of the money back then too…peoples’ wages were much less, too. The episode which shows them buying their house showed the price for 1 story and 3 bedrooms at $27,7 which would have been expensive for the times, too. They also have 2 cars, so he must have been earning a lot.

Kind of irrelevant as to why they’re so unhappy…it was a lot of money then it’s a lot of money now.. inflation is one of those things where people can be like omg everything cost so much!! But the modern day living we’re in is one of the few examples where goods themselves are actually higher than they’ve ever been..if we had a financial system that worked chronologically..a gallon of gas would be 1.75 and a loaf of bread 50-70 cents..unfortunately it these days inflation is about quadruple to the the actual minimum wage. Side note: Our global debt is beyond a countable figure which wasn’t a thing in the times of this show..

@@coleparker Nope. Rob got 1st choice, so he gave the cheaper (non-rock house to Jerry & Millie. Also - remember that Rob had to pay Jerry a monthly sum cuz Rob's rock channeled water into Jerry's foundation so Jerry had to have it sealed every month and they split that cost.

@@elishevatimber6540 I respectfully disagree. The rock house was cheaper, you are right, Rob did pay for the damage done by the Rock. Also, if the Rock was there, Rob and Laura could not have put a pool table in their basement.

In the last game with Blackie I'm pretty sure Rob sinks the 8 ball on the break (as well as another striped ball )...after Blackie makes the 8 ball during the first game on the break and he says "Hey! I got one in!...and Rob says "Yeah unfortunately it was the 8 ball" ...meaning Blackie lost the first game by doing that....later in the game after Blackie starts to sink balls you can clearly see the 8 ball is still on the table...after the camera cuts away.

The balls on the pool table are set up wrong. The 8 ball goes in the middle of the rack, not on the corner, so it would be virtually impossible to make the 8 ball on the break, especially with a soft break.
