The reason Greasus is scary: by Ogre terms, he's a goddamn genius. And he doesn't care about fighting dirty. As long as he wins, he doesn't care how he does it. Hell, some of his updated lore makes it even more obvious that he is scarily smart. He apparently is buddy buddy with Mr. Iron Dragon now, and the two apparently bother over having "strained" relations with their fathers. He negotiated it so that his tribe would stop attacking the occasional Cathayan Caravan IF they got a cut from EVERY Cathayan Caravan. They also talk about how they very much wanted him to be a bit of a Mafia type of character. That plus his insane economic bonuses make it so that if I do play an Ogre Kingdoms campaign, I'll probably try him first (even if Gorgers are still one of my favorite Ogre Kingdoms units).

I think that they picked lore of Beasts, Fire, and Great Maw because those are the ones that make the most sense for the race to have.

One minor thing about the 25% trade bonus is it applies on the *base* income of tariffs only. You can see this right now in warhammer 2 if you pick Alberic as he has the same exact faction effect. To be a real faction perk it probably needs to be 300-500% minimum or you know, apply to the resource part. semi related rant most of the faction effects are uninspired trash and I was hoping for something more on the plate than -recruitment cost on 4?5? factions after 5 years.

37:36 I think CA confirmed that they redid the starting armies for LLs after this article was posted. Now I think Greasus starts with 2 ironguts, one stonehorn and some gnoblars. I think. And if you remember how weak Kairos's army was now he starts with a burning chariot and a Soulgrinder

Been eyeing Ogre Kingdoms from a distance (don't want to be eaten). While I feel solid on my two main starting factions, the Ogre Kingdoms could mess with this plan. The Mercenary Contracts would need a major improvement. Those rewards are not enough. If doing contracts for certain factions is a solid way to build alliances would be awesome as a diplomatic player.

If the factions they have you attack, they too are at war would give away for the AI to coordinate with you fighting enemies. It is a neat idea if they get the rewards right.

Wecome back Sotek! Don't worry about the stomach ulcer, I also sufferrd from it for 3 horrible years. But once I visited a good doctor and started my treatment it completely went away after 4 months and it has not came back ever since. :)

Here's my interpretation on why Greasus is in his cart now: The Gnoblars that normally carried him just kept getting squished before he could get anywhere, so they made him a cart and have gnoblars throwing the gold coins off of that and moving him about that way

The camp mechanic sounds amazing. I was really worried about Ogres having an annoying horde mechanic, but the camp system has me really wanting me to play them now. I actually kind of wish all factions that are/were more on the side of being a horde faction would use this mechanic. Also UNBREAKABLE GNOBLARS???? HOLY SHIT. I am going to have to do a Ogres campaign a lot sooner than I thought I was going to.

I really don't like the walmart scooter and I don't really agree with your argument for why we can't get him carried by Gnoblars. I used to agree with the assessment that animating and rigging the gnoblars would be near impossible. That is until the Nurgle trailer dropped and they showed Kugath being carried by a small horde of nurglings. The stuff like the endless wave of dead gnoblars, throwing gold, etc would naturally be near impossible to rig and animate, but after seeing Kugath's model i see no reason why they could have just made a model where he is simply carried by several goblars. The cart makes Greasus into a joke and takes any aura of power he might have. Kurgath looks like a badass that have an aura of authority and power.

By the way, ever since your interview with Andy Hall, the idea that the Emperor of Cathay might have caused the comet that swept through Mordheim hasn't left my mind. His disappearance in 1999 IC and his modus operandi with the ogres dovetail...perhaps he was trying to eliminate the Everchosen at the time and Be'Lakor took advantage.🐉☄😈

I'm conflicted on the Ogre camps, it sounds just like a horde camp, but it can't move.....Plus the fact it raids is gonna attract enemies to it constantly, so I'll pretty much have to keep an army there to defend it. So if I have to constantly defend it why not just attach it to the army and let it move?

I think it’s more like a major settlement that you can choose where to put down. I imagine it will have its own garrison that can be upgraded.
