Finally Fixing the Sunroof in my Scion tC

Today’s video is to revisit my sunroof issue on my 2009 Scion tC. I haven’t had a working sunroof for about 2 years which was when the last video was posted about the sunroof. I was able to replace the sunroof with some used rails and motor at a junkyard for about $50ish and it fixed my issue. I talk about some common issues I see with these sunroofs and how to go about those issues. I hope this video helps many of you guys.

Im not having issues with my sunroof but i do get alot of rattle when driving with it open is this normal on yours too or do you think i have to tighten some bolts up?

So those foglights are discontinued. They were made by MengMotorsports. The best you can do is buy a set used.

Awesome video, how long did it take you from start to finish? How much was the piece at the junk yard? I just got a TC and the sunroof won't open so just trying 3 get n idea from you!

Hmm since I have a roll bar in the way, it took me like 4 or 5 hours but with a normal interior, it should take you a few hours to be honest.

I believe in the junkyard it was about $100 - $150. I don't recall.

Did u ever get fixed? If so did u just replaced the sunroof motor I’m having the same issue

Is it possible just to make it a manual sunroof? So I can manually open and close it.

@@OrangeCounty92 Never tried manually winding the sunroof, probably can be done just needa tool that would work in place of the motor.

How easy is it to just take off the plastic belt?

Never actually intended to take the plastic belt only BUT I have removed a single side of the sunroof to match it with a previous other single side and from what I remember, it wasn't fun LOL
