Moved out to Surprise, AZ from Omaha, Nebraska about 3 months ago.I love the sunny days here but to be honest the homes are way overpriced and the quality is mediocre at best.I will try to buy something that's worth it but damn the way these homes are built is weird.Small rooms but big laundry rooms and lofts.Wouldn't it be smarter to even everything out?

Depends on where you go in the valley. Positive to AZ over NE is that 8 or 9 times out of 10, the house is going to be newer. Being newer means less likely to have to replace shit or have shit break down/leak. Or you can buy land and build yourself, have more control over the quality. I did this myself in 2016, there is PLENTY of land to be bought and built on, especially in north valley...

If someone has the means to rip out that carpet and dated tile, replace it with a nice hardwood or the beachy style lighter colored wood flooring, get rid of that room divider downstairs & just open it all up, upgrade kitchen a little, landscape the yard…it’s a decent sized house, could be great. That loft area is awesome! And yes, a backyard that size is non existent in new construction anymore!

The nice neighborhoods are right up next to the not so good neighborhoods it leaks over! I had a stolen vehicle abandoned in middle of street right in front of my home door open an everything! I called police they didn’t tell me they were at that moment looking for the guy that moment my kids were playing in backyard… I didn’t know what was going on till police walked up on the vehicle guns in hand and I talked to police did I know some guy was on the run in our neighborhood! I never experienced anything like that I just thought someone broke down and was worried someone would hit it coming around the corner! Feel like they should of told me to stay inside or something I was shocked when I saw police walking down my street toward the truck with guns pointed at it!

Yes but in all reality..You prob don't have the 20 percent D.P needed to compete in this market to buy the crib. It's a different market now than before. First time home buyer loan won't cut it sorry to say. I know me and my fiancee just bought a huge crib in Gilbert and it was off the market in 1 day with 10 people making offers..those with FHA loans didn't stand a chance compared to those and US with the standard conventional loan of 20 percent

I think that would depend a lot on the circumstances. Like being a woman and knowing about all the sex trafficking in AZ might cause concern for some. Or being unfamiliar with an area. There is crime in every city, but AZ doesn’t have any extremely bad crime areas. Like, you won’t get car jacked at a gas station for example. However, some tweeker might break into your car if it’s parked on the street though. I was born in Phoenix (1984) and have lived in the valley my whole life. I can honestly say that I’ve never really felt uncomfortable anywhere. The worst experiences I had were in Scottsdale when I was younger and people mistreating me because of my skin tone. Overall, everything has been great. But obviously each person is going to have a different experience.

Please beware of the HOA here. The rules are that you, your family or friends can NOT park on the street overnight. I believe the first fine is $75 and doubles from there. They want all visitors to park at Walmart. 😒 No exceptions! The HOA here is a PITA and it made me hate HOA neighborhoods. The good thing about this neighborhood is that it is in front of a park. You can hike to your heart content. Two or three exits west on I-10 is a popular outdoor, free shooting range. There are shopping and restaurants in the area. So if you can put up with the HOA BS, it's a very nice place to live. Oh yeah, for those of you who are coming from outside AZ, you are right off the desert and there are all sorts of bugs that want to try to give you pain, call an exterminator asap and have them go into the attic. 👍 Good luck!

I just have one thing to comment on. That round thing on the wall at the front door is a doorknob stopper. It stops the doorknob from hitting the walls when people just flings it open. Normally, it is put on the inside of your home. Apparently, they used some messy glue so it would stick on the outside.

$2,495 that's too much for Buckeye. No landscape. That yard would activate my allergies. Then the distance by and forth. Definitely not worth it. Sorry

Super, I thought they were termites on the front porch! That thin space in the main bedroom would be perfect for a TREADMILL!!!

I live in Canada, that house is well worth that price. You should see what you get up here for 2100 a month. A one bedroom if your lucky, very expensive here to live. I’d use that little room with the glass door as a sunroom. Put my plants in there, it has a window. Love your channel, just discovered it 👍

When I was trying to find a place in Phx. They wanted yur income to be 3 X the rent. For a senior on a fixed income impossible. Living in a hovel now but its cheap. I love my Native American neighbours they "Take Care of" the old man at the end of the street! Even took care of me last year through the covid. God bless them...

I think that room off the master was a nursery maybe? A bit sunny but probably had better blinds. About small bedrooms. We sleep there. So what. At the time that place was quality. You're right. Investment property with minimal care. That = slumlord no matter the neighborhood. No?

Master tiny room could be a sitting room….or a make up room…. Imho….the house is in fabulous condition for a rental…..I’ve seen a heck of a lot worse…given some of the blinds are wavy from the heat…..put the garbage cans in the garage

The high vaulted ceilings in those homes is very impractical for AZ Summers. Expect to pay at least $300/mth for electricity to cool all that wasted space. 9 ft ceilings are more efficient. Renting is never ideal and certainly not $2000/mth. Everything is so inflated nowadays. Something needs to change or the next generation will have to live with roommates or family. I like the separation in the dining room and the counter is great for a buffet for gatherings/parties.

The house is a great size, with ALOT of wasted space!! I'm with you that room in master needs to go, along with the loft, make those bedrooms bigger !! The livingroom needs to be bigger, that formal area is plain stupid!!

It’s crazy stupid all the building going on. All the jobs are a good drive away. So they keep building and the roads can’t handle the traffic. Sorry but that house is butt ugly

The inside of the homes are very nice and spacious but the desert looking , hot temperatures outside do not appeal to me at all. The price is set right because at least three roommates could be comfortable in there. I visited Chandler AZ a few years back and it’s not as bleak. There were all kinds of cactus plants so you had some greenery. Whoever built these homes should have planted more greenery, there’s not even grass. You do a good job Super!

I live in Buckeye.. we drive past that neighborhood when we go hiking at Skyline Regional Park. You were right about Sundance. They do have a 55+ neighborhood but Sundance has like 10 subdivisions total. They got a new one going up near Verrado and Yuma

Not for me but if you have two full-time workers, and you rent out one room (if that is allowed) it might be worth it. You can place the garbage cans on some type of boards so it can slide.

I disagree with you about open concept spaces. I think the partial wall between the living room and dining room adds architectural interest- especially here, where the open feeling is maintained because of the nature of the separator. I really like that.

I think what looks like mouse poop is actually bat poop because its in one spot from bat roosting above it. Mouse goes all over the place, where ever they are scurrying about. They dont have one place they return to.

I am old. So I liked the divider. Anyone walking into my house knows it was built in 70s but I like it and plan on living in it until I have to go into a nursing home. Glad all I have to pay is the property tax and utilities.
