Want to thank you for purchasing that building. My biological family is from Kentucky, most currently live in Ashland and Greenup (I think). I was told a story about how my great grandfather owned a mountain in Kentucky, our family had built homes there for generations. Somewhere in time a big money man offered the family enough money to move. Sad to think that people who know nothing about the community are buying buildings and destroying lives in the process. So thank you for keeping your building alive and a part of the community. My family and I appreciate you. ❤

I had a dog that we were convinced had allergies for a very long time. And all the tests came back negative. The vet started doing blood work for auto-immune disease. But in the meantime, started treating him for anxiety... All of his rashes, hives, bumps and his chewing his feet and his tail until it bled (He'd almost chewed all the hair off of his tail at the base) all but completely stopped! You might think about asking the vet about trying him on a low-level anxiety medication of some sort. In the meanwhile, I'd also have him tested for doggy auto immune issues. Poor Tater!

Same. My father had a dog with the same symptoms, he did have an auto immune disorder plus he was treated for anxiety. It helped a lot!

I lived in a small town where the city bought every single building that went up for sale, and never did anything with them. Eventually the area was full of vacant, neglected buildings. Much like the man in your town, Alexandria. BTW, I love the painting!

People gifted in art, specifically painting and drawing don't know how much a gift of something like that painting means to us. I'm no longer friends with a guy from highschool that made me a realistic drawing of my dog and now that Bowser is no longer wirh us, it is one of my most valued possessions. Like if my house caught on fire, id grab my cat and my bowser painting lol. I wish i could draw and paint, all my friends would have portraits of their pets. Best gift ever!

As someone who lives in a 130 year old house, I love the character of an old building. We bought from a terrible landlord that didn't tell the tenants he sold the house until what seemed to be our closing date. I'm glad the tenants didn't completely wreck the place, since we didn't get keys until days after we closed. 🤦

It's awesome to learn the such a thing exists, a cat 😸 ophthalmologist ! I wonder if they are able to help dogs too? I'm going to Google that as soon as I finish writing this. It's beautiful to know that humans capable of doing such things, it makes me dream of a perfect world where , the human race could stop destroying themselves and the planet and live in peace and harmony with everyone and with all living creatures. @@SanniSandyBunny2000I’m sure there are eye drs for dogs (can’t spell it rn!lol).. when I had my dogs hip replacement surgery, I saw there was a dog eye specialist in that same animal hospital! My own regular vet is an animal acupuncturist!!

@@kristentrep5038 yes, I looked it up, there really are, all sorts of special vet/ doctors for animals, cats and dogs and others too. It was just something that I had previously never heard of or thought about. I imagine a cat or dog would not be able to wear "glasses" like humans do, but they probably do help them with all sorts of illnesses.

Just a suggestion but I’d check to see where the closest Veterinary school is for Tater. I used to live in N CA and ended up taking my dog to Davis Vet School. It’s not expensive and you have a whole tribe of Vets figuring out what going on. Congrats on buying the building!! Can’t wait to watch the renovations.

My original landlord "retired" and sold my house as well as many of my neighbors and the new owners are not nearly as kind it has been difficult, so I'm glad (in your case) someone who cares about the integrity of the building and the community own it now.

I wonder if the second apartment up there could become employee housing! If you could hire a helping hand for the store, an editor, a crafter for handmade products, etc! Something on contract where they get cheap rent if they work for the shop, and that gives you security for your tenant. Ive always wanted to own that type of building, where my own home is on top, and I can run my business underneath!

That painting is incredible! Tammy is so talented! My cat, Sir Barry Thomas Bean A Lot (Bean), has a cough, it's horrible to listen to but thankfully benign. Bean also has alot of balding, especially around his head but also on his back,the vet said it could possibly be alopecia but since he is otherwise healthy and really, really hates the vet, that we didn't need to do any further testing. I'm glad that Tater is less itchy, I hope he can find lasting relief. Congratulations on buying the stores!! I'd love to see the entire renovation process! Thanks for sharing with us! You look gorgeous as always.

That's incredibly exciting and you should be really proud of yourself! I'm excited for you and I'd so be down to see the journey of it! I'm so sorry to hear that the former owner passed, I remember you talking about him helping during the flood and he seemed like a genuinely lovely person. It makes me sad people took advantage of his kindness but I'm also glad he had y'all as tenants to pass on this building that clearly meant a lot to him knowing you would take the care of it that it deserves. I think if fate exists this would be a case of it. I'm really happy so many wonderful things are happening for you after the stresses of house hunting and little baby Tater's health issues. You were due for a win and definitely deserving of one. We have one of those people in our city that likes to buy every property in our historic downtown and they're also the worst so on a personal level I'm incredibly glad y'all got the building and will cherish it. I'm so glad y'all have some answers for Tater! I had a Boston with some hair loss issues that got those bumps on his back and I recommend trying different lotions, creams, and topicals of some sort. Mine liked coconut oil. Also LOVE the painting! It's beyond perfect! It's so beautifully done and I love that it has the Christmas tree in it! What a kind and lovely gift! My dog had skin issues and epilepsy for the first seven years of his life. All the tests showed nothing. I had a wonderful vet at the time that worked with me to try him out on each different and unique type of protein in dog foods which apparently is the only way to tell which proteins they can handle. We went all the way to one of the rarest proteins, Kangaroo by Zignature (highly respected brand) and ALL of it STOPPED. We were amazed!!! His hair grew back, his scratching stopped, his epilepsy stopped. This sounds like an ad but I feel like it saved his life so I wanted to share.

Pet dermatologist are amazing!! My little dog had such bad skin problems she lost all her fur her skin would flake off yet she was gooey on her sin and was so itchy and smelly. It was years of vet visits then after 2 Derm visits they brought back her quality of life so much. 10000% recommend.

Many different scents and chemicals can affect dogs. So be careful with any candles, essential oils, detergents and cleaning chemicals that Tater can come in contact with. Hope you find a solution for him and give you peace of mind. Congratulations on purchase! 🎉

Vet med professional here - I also have a dilute dog! Blue Great Dane 🙃 she deals with all of the same issues, but she does have an allergy to fish. But even staying away from fish for 3-4 years she still has skin issues. There definitely *can* be a correlation for cytopoint and seizures but I highly recommend keeping a log of dates of injections and any potential seizure symptoms. It makes it way easier to see any correlation. And I HIGHLY recommend Nashville Veterinary Specialists or Animal Dermatology Clinic in KY for anything skin/allergy/alopecia! We’ve referred our clients to both many times and have heard nothing but positive experiences :)

Yay!!!!!!! I’m so excited for you. It sounds like a lot of work, but it’s the kind of work that I find satisfying and worth it. When bought our house, we stripped it to its bones. It needed so much work. Every inside exterior wall was pryed off with crowbars and then we insulated and vapor barriered it. There was so much water damage, no insulation and had been empty for quite a while. Everything had to be taken out and replaced, including the entire kitchen (cabinets, sink, counters, appliances), bathroom completely gutted, and just everything else you can imagine. Thankfully we got the house at a bank foreclosure, so we had the extra money to do all the demolition and renovations ourselves. Absolutely worth it, broken finger and all. It gives you a fresh start and you can make it like you want it to be. I love the idea of an airbnb. I’d stay there. I know you probably already knoe all of this, but look around at places like ebay and Amazon for fun accents. We got accent tiles with Gustav Klimpt paintings on them from ebay. Those are one of my favorite pieces. Find pieces and ideas that you like and then goggle the heck out of them and I’m sure you can find them for good prices. Our fun accent tiles were $300 cheaper when we bought them through Amazon than through Lowe’s or Home Depot. Yay!!! I can’t wait to see what you do. I’m proud of you and your family for working so hard on this. It’s easy to give up. And “Fancy Pants”, I about died laughing. I use those exact words to describe some people or things.

Yes filming studio! All your packages go there, build it to organize everything! I know you need help with all of that! Get a good system set up before you move in so you can donate things quicker! Sell excess things in your store and then stay in your home until you find the perfect home and rent out the home you live! lol I planned it all out for you! You’re going to kill it! Absolutely record the work. I recently helped my (ungrateful) sister get back her property from her daughter who was ruining it and had it written up. We both live over 1k from this property and were there for almost 6 months fixing it. The judge gave her 30 days to get out and she damaged it even more. It took 6 months and it turned out so beautiful. I showed family and friends before photos, progress, and after photos and vids. They were on the edge of their seats when "We are working on this today and will show you how far we got". When it felt like no real progress was being made and I was sorting the photos it showed me: Yes, it IS happening and dang I did a good job! So yes, please record what you are about to tackle. Your fans, including me, would love to see the work in progress. It can serve as a record to show you "yes it is happening, dang we did good!" , and if needed if there are any legal, building code issues, tax deductions or audit ; it will be evidence. Also it will become another piece of the history of the building that can be passed on to the next owner decades from now :) Wishing you a ton of luck in this chapter of your life!
