Good Afternoon Sam and Becks….my lifetime in construction and I still get blown away by how a couple of hairy arsed chippies 😆 can create, craft and sculpt a timber roof structure onto an out of shape old stone building and make it look so good. My eyes immediately go to all them timber lines….so straight and true. That’s all credit to yours and Dave’s construction skills Sam. You guys have done an amazing job getting them joists on and looking as good as it does. My sincere respects 👍 …Dave.

@@1MrMoor The expression "Hairy arsed chippies" has to be Australian...😀😃😄😁😆

@@lockman1951 😆😆 it’s typical English construction worker lingo….. Arse is very much an English word. Coming from way back …Ass was seen as a swear word back then, not to be used in public and so arse was the acceptable alternative.

I think the barn would be a great kitchen with double doors out to your planned courtyard with an outdoor dinning area. Where the chimney is could be a dinning room leading to a sitting room and behind that your intended bedroom. You are doing great work. Bec you are an amazing person with your stamina and perseverance and calm nature. I admire all your efforts.

My father connected with the relatives in Canada but passed before going to Ireland. My daughter and I traveled to Ireland to see my mom's side in County Cork family. Fantastic job lads and Bec. Maith sibh!! Ironically, the roof, is about the only straight bit on that building. Seriously, well done, a lot of prep went into that, for it to go up so quickly and that'll help spur you on, to get the rest of the build done, it's always heartening to see progress. Sam, It amazes me, how much more work you get done, with an extra pair of knowledgeable hands - a big shoutout to Dave. So, with any luck, it won't be too long before you're dried in - Sam and Co., you're making some significant progress. Keep up the good work - Slan.

Truly marvelous work guys. The roof is looking spectacular. My first comment but I started watching the channel a while ago at the point you bought the property.... then I binge watched them all until a week ago. Then I went back to the beginning of your journey of leaving the home and travelling. I'm making my way through those and now have to be satisfied with a new one each time you post. You all should be so proud of what you've accomplished. Such hard workers. I have a ginger cat like your boys.... how do you tell them apart - probably easy when they're side by side. You've done wonders with Toby. He did look like he was in foal initially, but probably had a belly full of worms. He is living the life now. I am in Australia and am really enjoying your channel. Take care all. Cheers Carol

Best of luck to you both.

You can speed up the interior pointing job by using a 'Refillable', or empty caulk tube. Fill them with mortar and force it into the smallest of joins. Smoothing it with a gloved finger should be the only real manual work involved...The old Grand Dame of Irish Cottages is getting the full 'Spa' treatment, and she'll come out looking like her much younger Sister, once again to be filled with laughter and love. She'll again feel the joy of children and family giving her life once more. Once again she'll be the true 'Bean an tí' of the 'Cnoic na hÉireann'. Sorry if I mangled that, haven't spoken the Gàidhlig for fifty years... 🍺😄
