This is big business this is either at insurance scam by the builder or this is a local businessman does not want that building to open as it will hinder his rental units so it’s all big business and they will blame it on the homeless as a usual scapegoat

I used to be a construction worker in the Bay Area and I can think of a dozen different scenarios why this happened but having 100 guys on the job at that time and to say it might’ve been a homeless person I think that’s a pretty far stretch.

Cordless tool batteries overcharged? Many larger tools (Power miter, table, etc) are now cordless and there may not have been corded power/electricity throughout the construction site. There may have been a designated area for charging of the batteries. That's where I would start.

My guess, a plumber torched it while soldering copper fittings for the buildings water lines. And he's probably half way to Mexico.

Not so fun fact: Due to California being a 'refuge state' that guarantees financial aid to asylum seekers, all these State funded high density 'affordable housing' projects will be allocated to those people too Thats why they don't provide parking stalls. - 15 min. cities.
