Fun fact, according to payday 2 wiki, the Microgun is actually based on the Empty Shell LLC XM556 Prototype that fires 5.56 and unlike the Microgun, its comically small. Edit:By comically small, I mean over half a meter, specifically 558 milimetres, from some images, it's roughly the size of P90 which is amazing. Double edit: I'd like to add that according to IMFDB, technically Payday 2 has more guns than it states and that's not counting the DLCs. You cna modify guns into different ones or facsimiles. For example, I learned something that made sense today. The KSP 58 is not a KSP 58, but it is in technicality. The first KSP, simply called just that was an M249, the KSP 58 is not a KSP 58, but a mishmash majorly leaning towards the M240B. Why does this make sense? Well, because apparently the M240B is the US adopted version of the KSP 58 and so in the logic of the world, it might as well be called the KSP 58 if the American gun was already called a KSP. It's an interesting compromise. I honestly am thinking of making character thematic builds one day, just wish they added more weapon slots since I like having the realistic variants of these guns.

4:56 unfortunately, equip/unequip animation of SUB-2000 doesnt really mean much other than that it got a fancy equip/unequip animation so different from other weapons. but at least SUB-2K got a pretty respectable "concealment" value that, among other things, decreases the detection radius when you play stealthily, so there is that. 10:13 - F2000 actually got a fully modelled fire selector on the model, it just that devs decided to use the longer barrel by default instead of the standard F2000 shorter barrel that is available as an attachment 14:44 - well, PAYDAY 2 shotguns, for whatever reason, deal full damage that is listed in the menu, with each pellet, but the damage from each pellet doesn't sum up. on the other hand, PAYDAY 2 shotguns got a pretty insane range before the damage will start drop off, that it doesn't even come into play on most maps.

Not Jonathan, but for Jiu Feng Pack 4 I can answer this: The Argos is based on the MP-155 Ultima (which he reviews in "EVEN MORE Tarkov Guns"), and despite his lack of knowledge on it, it is real. The PAYDAY 2 version has a fictional targeting system instead of the actual thermal sight which is modeled in Tarkov. The Wasp DS is the FMG-9 (he reviewed in one of the Siege videos), and unlike the Siege version has folding and unfolding anims-the picatinny rail is fictional. As he mentions, it was in RoboCop II! The Gecko M2 is based on the Maxim 9, and visually seems to be the closest to the source gun. It is in fact an enormous integrated suppressed pistol, but I don't know if the shotgun-tier staggering power is appropriate for what is IIRC 9mm. Whether or not they sound, perform, etc. in the way they should IRL, I can't say, that's a Jonathan thing. Weird thing that is worth noting is the Argos loads 2 rounds at a time (except for a dry reload which inserts a shell through the ejection port first), and unlike other shotguns the player flips the shotgun upside down completely to load. I believe flipping it upside down is fine but commonly done in a less tense scenario/when sitting.

I believe the Crye Precision six12 is based on the Pancor shotgun since that does have a rotary drum magazine that is behind the trigger, and it has some visual similarities, albeit it is more inspired than exactly like the silhouettes of the Pancor. If the Pancor went into full production, you could have one in the museum. Ian from forgotten weapons actually covered it and if I recall, the one he had with him was an actual Pancor that is used as a movie prop, but it isn’t really that functional anymore since all the test ones that were sent for trials for I believe it was the US military, almost all the prototypes sent in for testing and trials got destroyed or heavily damaged from testing so almost none exist really today unless someone recreates it somehow with great enough improvements to make it something to sell.

I'm surprised that they went with the 762 version of the WA-2000 instead of the 300WM. Considering it's punching power it would probably make more sense.

I would love to see him react to the weapons from Killing Floor 2 as well. Would be great because it has some rather realistic weapon feel to me.

If you consider incredibly wobbly and very loose parts on weapons realistic

I believe the inspiration for including the 7.62 Galil is one part Heat and another part The Way of the Gun. Benicio Del Toro uses the 7.62 version of the Galil in Way of the Gun, which in some ways is a "heist" movie.

You put a Borderlands 3 clip in the beginning, so have Jonathan reacts to Borderlands already.

You really gotta do a video on receiver 2, every internal and external part of the guns are modeled and animated, the pistols are really sophisticated

Gamespot/Jonathan: it's a bit of a hidden gen of a game, but could you at some point look at the guns of Generation Zero? They're a weird mix of "clearly supposed to be realistic, but also not," and there's a recently released US weapons pack that has an m14-lookalike that I think might make Jonathan raise an eyebrow. 😂

So I know he said that shoulder firing 3000 rpm is not good for the shoulder, but to be fair in payday the microgun is merely 2000rpm so it is slightly better for the shoulder.

There are so many more guns from Payday that are rarely depicted in other games. I would Love to see Jonathan go through the Swedish K, Mateba (in-game Matever) Jericho 941 (in-game Baby Deagle), Sterling SMG (in-game Patchett). Also love to see what Johnathan thinks of all the customization option on the AR-15s, AKs and MP5.

I'm surprised Jonathan didn't pick at the shotgun being able to take down fully armored SWAT operatives; is this relatively realistic or gamified like other video game shotguns? I know I've heard that shotguns don't typically fare too well against body armor somewhere.

A Kel-tec! I own several of their odd offerings including the Sub2000 that you showcased. I love love all of them along with their quirks. I hope that Kel-tec can send you some of their products. If you had a Sub2000 to reference, you would know that folding it with a RDS installed wouldn't work very well. It would fold in more like a wide "V" position. There are products available to get around this, but none of those were present in the game model.

The thing with Payday 2's minigun is both the 7.62 mini gun is in there as well as the Fleming firearms 556 micro gun. However, you can also hand carry and hand fire the 7.62 minigun

The sub2000 folds vertically, in a way where the top of the handguard (with the top rail) goes on top of the stock. Meaning you can fold it with a magazine in it, even a high capacity one (although it would be impractical and harder to hide). But you can't fold it with an optic on top like they do in the game. Though I think the optic they use can also flip to the side, but you don't see them folding the optic before and after folding the carbine. The new S&W folding carbine does fold horizontally, making it easier to mount whatever you want on the rails (you just lose some real estate on the left side of the handguard).
