A Plant City man on death row is the first ever to demand the electric chair, and a rarely used loophole in the law may grant Wayne Doty his wish.

“Its my crime its my life” Thats a true narcissist. Even after taking someones life he still thinks people should cater to exactly what he wants because he thinks he’s entitled to it. Here’s the thing. I’ve always seen the death sentence as an easy way out. I feel the worst punishment would be growing old in a prison, knowing that no matter what you do, no matter who you beg, you will never get out. Watching day by day go by waiting until you’re old enough to die. The death penalty just hastens that process. Sounds awful.
@sparkplug10183 жыл бұрын
Thats true. But the thing about the death penalty is, you get to live in hope that maybe that appeal will work. Maybe the next one, or the one after that will work. And then when you've finally exhausted your appeals, you know you're going to die, but when? Could they schedule it for next week? Next month? A year, 2 maybe even 5 years from now? Then as they're leading the POS to the chamber, and putting the needles in (or strapping them in) theres still that last glimmer of hope the execution might be stayed. And all that hope is dashed as they feel the drugs start to take effect. And all that knowing the victims and your family is watching. So they either get a physical punishment (life in prison) or a mental punishment (the death penalty)
@ZacksRockingLifestyle2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think we should use “awful” punishments. Our standard is “cruel and unusual punishments” are unlawful, but what happens when we make cruelty usual?
@junoknobloch38302 жыл бұрын

Fair point. But I believe that the victim didn't get to pick how he was brutally killed. I don't think he is the one who should be talking about how people have the right to pick their death.

I feel like the victims family should be able to request what they want to happen to the person.
@GutRot11132 жыл бұрын
His answer to that last question highlights exactly what I was thinking through this whole video. This guy isn't picking the chair because he's scared of needles, he's doing it to try and delay his own death. It would be poetic irony if they did give him the chair though, because then he'd learn very quickly that it's not an instant painless exit from this world.
