Ha! I had not realised what I had been doing all along. With a new sketch book I skip the first page and then begin! In the back of my head I think it should be for something special - which is not what I am about to do so I flip the page 😂. I saw in one of your sketchbook Sharon your had done a lovely double page landscape on the inside cover and first page. It made a really great beginning and I think I shall do the same, wait until I have something that fits that place and go back and do it - in all my sketchbooks! Just recently found your channel and vey much enjoying it thank you.

Awww, poor Tully was not impressed when you told him to sit (at about 4.00 min) - but he's still an almighty cutie! That chap you quoted in your first comment seems to have similar views to my own regarding the first page of a sketchbook :-) I really feel for Irene, whose comment you mention later in the video - and i think many of us will identify with the overall sentiments she expresses. But I have to say, I thought your encouraging advice to her was spot on (listen to what the lady say,s Irene - she knows of what she is talking!). Also thanks for showing the creation of the Hobbit door, which got a nice positive response when you posted it on Instagram. All the best, Brian.

The best sketchbooks I had were some cheaper ones where I didn't care one bit if I used them just for errors on each page and had such fun drawing in them. The good thing about having a ton of sketchbooks is that even if one gets messy, the others are still there.

Aside from taking the video down and re-editing and reuploading, reposting, doing the thumbnail again etc etc, it stays. It has been almost a week no spammers so I’m good. Could it be any worse? Well except for the fact that people keep writing about it in the comments and I keep removing said comments so it doesn’t draw more attention!? I may just shut comments off completely because I can see this happening for years.

@@SharonCullenArt I think you answered someone else under my comment 😉. But I think you can edit the video while its online and and put a comment on the section, which bothers you and hide it that way. I'm not sure if it's possible nowadays but it used to be the case. You can check it out.

I have painted the first page (and often the facing inside cover) with just a repeating pattern of small leaves, flowers, etc, to resemble the end papers of good books.

First page fear is a real thing lol. Some people skip the first page and start on the 2 or 3rd instead, and some start in the back and work their way forward. It's funny!
