I basically live in my truck as well and I have a TK APU. Although expensive up front I think it's saved me from excessive DPF cleaning which adds up quickly.

Once a month spread sheet will make your life alittle easier. Your explanation on your ongoing loads once week is also a good idea.

You should add out of pocket expenses example if you were down week and half for repairs did you have hotel expenses do you pay a weekly fee for an accountant to keep up with your taxes, office supplies, phone bill, Internet bill...etc are all business expenses.

EOBR Airtime = electronic onboard recorders (EOBRs) = Qualcomm Omnitrac (Whichever one you use)
@looking4wifeАй бұрын
The answer to your question what is the EOBR airtime? that is your ELD electronic logging device which stands for electronic on board recorder usage time.

The freedom of choice with your loads at Landstar seems awesome. I've only been driving solo for two months with Knight. Already displeased with my dispatcher assigning me wack loads.

Don’t quit dude, I’ve been here for 5 months already, pay sucks bad, everything else has been alright for me, but the experience we’re getting will open so many doors, just stay safe keep that record clean and leave as soon as we can

That’s a good lane. Have family along that route too but I’m very far from owning a truck but it’s cool to see how landstar works. Once a month on the settlement might be easier on you. Keep up the good work!

Landstar does post your settlement every week, you just have to know where to find it. I can show you where it is if you need me to
@rodtimmer24566 ай бұрын
It’s all posted weekly. You will see multiple sheets. You’ll get you contractor settlement and card activity sheets. All of these are listed under the money tab then direct documents. I’d suggest setting up your settlement card up for fuel and inky use that card. It will reduce your paperwork load. Also if you wanted you can build up a balance on there from your settlements and never need to do a trip advance. The EOBR airtime is a monthly charge that covers the data needed for you elog.

Looks like a good run for you. Basically a load down one week and a load back the next week? It would be nice to see the loads by week featuring the line haul fuel surcharge. The EOM spreadsheet can do all the small stuff. That APU was probably pretty pricy, but should save fuel and save wear on your emission systems.

My vote: Monthly update on the spreadsheet. Load planning/choosing every week.

I like weekly. Easier to see what market is doing etc but u could provide that without doing spreadsheet weekly. I don't trust loves to do anything but a tire lol. I barely trust ta for a pm. Not to mention the wait time to even get in the shop. Then once youer in the shop they just goof around vs working. 0 rush

Ya there is a weekly settlement... Its just not on the settlement page... for some reason that I will never understand. I found it now though.

Another thing, the 'southern' route to Austin from Reno is not good. It's all two lane to Vegas. Once you are about 40-60 miles southeast of Vegas you enter AZ and the roads are TERRIBLE all the way to Pheonix, and most of those miles are a terribly rough 2 lane road as well. Btw, I might be stealing your idea! If I were to run that, without a doubt I will be running through SLC. Well, maybe I would take the southern route for a change, but I'm pretty darned sure that route sucks for time.

It staggers me just how bad truck mechanics in the US are, it seems you can get a job as a mechanic with absolutely no ability. Yes to the APU, idling wrecks engines and is one of the reasons for emissions related problems. Never idle.
