First time flying Spice Jet in India

Spice Jet to Jaisalmer was absolutely FULL of SURPRISES. Airports and flying don't always go to plan, today was no different.

Today we are flying with Spice Jet to Jaisalmer. It's our first time flying with an Indian carrier and on a domestic Indian flight, and well lets just say we ran into a BIG problem!
We booked our tickets through an online travel agency, The Flight Network. However, when we arrived at check-in we were informed that we needed to show them a copy of the credit card used to make the booking or else we couldn't check in. We were very confused as I had given The Flight Network my credit card details to book this flight, and p until this point we had no idea that they had used a different card….
PRO TIP: If you are using an international credit card to book domestic flights within India, make sure you take that card travelling with you. Or if like us, you have booked with a third party, make sure they can give you a copy of the card used to book the flight otherwise you WILL NOT be able to board the flight!
After almost an hour and a half going back and forth on the phone we were able to sort it out and board the flight.
A BIG THANK YOU to the staff at Spice Jet who were were friendly, helpful and accomodating while we sorted this problem out.
After arriving safely in Jaisalmer we made our way to our hotel - Zostel Hostel. Even if you don't stay there it's worth visiting it if you're in Jaisalmer. It's just a cool place to hang.

Our first impressions of Rajasthan are that this state is absolutely beautiful! We've heard of all the wonderful things to see and do as a tourist in Jaisalmer. Hopefully we'll be able to know a few of them off in the next couple of days.

Sally And Ed You should have saved your mountain trips to Shimla & Manali for late April/May when the plains are blazing hot 😀 You can still hit up places like Sikkim, Darjeeling etc which are cooler than the plains. Andaman Islands would be good in May as well. The window for most of India is Dec-March when the weather is good.

Jaisalmer is a good place but the fort is better in Jodhpur. I don’t know if Jaisalmer is underrated as most people stop there on their Rajasthan circuit. Underrated would be places like Bikaner or Bundi where most don’t go.

Spice jet is the cheapest air line in India. It is a budget airline. I would recommend Vistara to fly. Do visit Sikkim and kerela.

You should have taken the train to Jaisalmer from Delhi. The section between Jodhpur and Jaisalmer is one of the scenic train rides in India through the Thar desert. If Jodhpur is your next stop, take the train. The 6 hour train ride is well worth it. And daytime.

Whenever I see Delhi Metro, I get jealous. It literally covered the most important places in Delhi. Here in Bengaluru, our metro is just limited to 45KMS. What a shame! Bengaluru Metro badly needed some expansion in the city. Even Hyderabad expanded very fastly even though it opened late. Lately, the Mumbai Metro also expanding up to 200+ KMS, but not Bengaluru. Bengaluru traffic is horrible. Once upon a time, it used to be a pensioners paradise, now it's a sh*thole.

Though Mumbai metro is expanding, it will be, at least another two years for the second line to be operational. Till then, we have to be happy with 12 stations and 21 KMS metro 😎 of the first line.

Hello, In the same two years time, Bengaluru will become a traffic nightmare. At least, they are doing something about the traffic. It seems Bengaluru will take forever to complete the metro, especially in heavy traffic areas. Every Metro city is improving and expanding its line, whereas, Bengaluru is going nowhere. In 5 years time, another 10 metros will be added to the already existed 13 metro cities. Meanwhile, Bengaluru would be still trying to expand the metro. I am impressed with the way so many cities are adding metros to its traffic problems. City buses are not at all solution to the traffic woes, not to mention the number of cars adding to the traffic is adding salt to the injury. I don't say Delhi is free of all these issues, but if there wasn't metro with 343 Kms, then, the problem would have been even bigger for Delhi. Don't forget that Delhi is adding new routes every year to its already existed lines. So the increase in line will plummet the traffic issues every year. It wouldn't surprise me if Delhi metro crosses 500KM mark in next 3 years time. Delhi metro should be a standard for all metros in India IMO.

Latest, I visited in June 2016. The city looked too crowded, lots of traffic jam. It has totally lost its charm.

If this is an effect than software has to identify the object present in the photo....only then it will measure the depth and instruct those fonts to sit in between the objects. Well Indian creditcard have additional OTP based authentication for each transaction. Thus Indian airlines donot worry abt indian creditcard and donot ask for creditcard at check-in. But foreign cards have no such protection and prone to fraud. Additionally you booked flight via foreign travel agent. To avoid future claim of fraud by actual card holder. Airline ask for creditcard. I will suggest you use Indian online travel website to book flights in india. Such as MakeMyTrip, easemytrip, yatra etc etc. There are many . Can't list all.

Why don't you book with reputed websites? There's Paytm, wego, via.com , makemytrip, etc. Or book directly from the airline's website. And no airport has ever asked me for a credit card. Strange.

Don't want to be a dick but it's a rookie mistake. I know it's sometimes looks cheaper but booking direct with the airline ensures this doesn't happen. Google 'click & bait' flights. At the very least Expedia is the only third part agent I'd touch with a bargepole. And only in a pinch.
