Today we are in the gorgeous alpine town, Manali. Located in the Himachal Pradesh, all the way up in the north of India, you will find this magical winter wonderland. As we were visiting in April, and the weather was starting to warm up, we weren’t hopeful that there would be snow…. So much so that we didn’t even have warm coats and stupidly arrived to the -7 degree weather in just a hoodie! YIKES!!
After spending a few days looking at the snow, but not being close enough to touch it, we made that our mission.. . FIND THE SNOW!!
The best place to see snow in Manali is to visit the Solang Valley. Its located 13kms from the centre of town, takes about 45 in a car to get there, and will cost around 500 rupees per person for a round trip. This depends of the vehicle and how many people are sharing.
Once at Solang Valley, there is loads of fun snow activities! We did snow snow tubing, and rode the cable car, but you can also learn to ski, go paragliding, zorbing or ride a snow mobile!
We have had some pretty EPIC days whilst traveling in India… But seeing this much snow in India has got to be our biggest highlight to date!!

@@SallyAndEd Please spread this video worldwide so that they realise India is not limited to the slums of Mumbai, the bustle of Old Delhi narrow streets, Golden temple of Amritsar, Ghats of Varanasi, Taj Mahal of Agra and the forts & desert of Rajasthan it is much more than that. It is home to a wide variety of topographies and climates. I suggest every traveller that the best time to visit India is between 10th October and 20th February. The weather gets really cold in the hill states between December and January, roads there also tend to get shut down due to snow, landslides, snowstorms, etc. So always keep a check on the weather reports of the area you want to visit via the internet, radio and television.

You can find snow in India even during summers at high passes of Himalayan states. The himalayan States are Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Arunanchal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh, which is a huge cold desert. Here in India we have everything, from hot burning hell to frozen mountains. -50 to +50°c.

I still remember that day when a dutch boy(now my very good friend) came to India for work purposes for very first time. He really had a bad image about the country. I was surprised when he even thought that the company would be in between slums and there would be no facilities😂 But as the time passed, he explored the country by himself just like you capturing the moments in camera. In India you can enjoy snow in Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh ( Shimla, Kulu Manali) , Jammu and Kashmir, Kargil etc. Unfortunately, for most of the foreigners India means centuries Old Delhi and Dharavi slum in Mumbai. In fact you can enjoy snow in Weat Bengal also. This year it snowed heavily in Darjeeling. Then if you go up higher from Darjeeling towards Sandakhphu you'll find snow for sure

@Abol Tabol Hi Abol, Thanks for the info! We obviously knew that India has mountains with snow, but as we were visiting in April, we weren’t sure that we were actually going to get to see any snow. Hence why we are so excited that it actually snowed. Neither Ed or I had ever seen snow fall from the sky before, this was really exciting for us and a highlight of our trip to India! India is an amazing country with such vast landscapes, and its hard for us to grasp how you can be somewhere like Agra that’s hot, and the next week be on a snowy mountain. This genuinely amazes us. Whilst travelling though India we saw desert, snowy mountains, vibrant cities and beautiful green national parks. You are right, Delhi is chaotic! Especially for Australians, as there are more people in the city than our entire country. BUT Delhi also has a world class metro system which runs better than the one we have in Sydney. Delhi also has fascinating history and really delicious street food. Its a chaotic city, but I think that is one of the reasons you visit, to experience a culture so different from you own. As for being harassed, whilst we did experience this, we chose not to film It or put it on KZbin because the positive experiences we had in India far outshone the negative ones. We loved travelling in India, and we are sorry that this video has offended you, it was not our intention to stereotype India in any way. We see your point and totally agree with you. There is loads of poverty porn put out by vloggers and bloggers, there's clickbait titles exaggerating peoples experiences. Such a shame. People filming inside the less fortunate peoples houses for their own financial gain is unfortunately way too common. Unfortunately, we did have multiple cases of sexual harassment while we were in India. Men grabbing me then running off, men on motorbikes grabbing me while they rode past, teenage boys 'accidentally' brushing their hands up against me and laughing in marketplaces, men groping me when we're in crowds. And your right, every country has their problems. Australia certainly has it's own social problems as well

In 2018 I went vacationing with my parents to Shimla Kulu Manali and Solang Valley. We got a lot of snow at Rohtang Pass (which has a very high altitude), but when we came down to Solang Valley, there was no snow, it was pleasant and there were flowers everywhere. I remember doing paraglyding there ♥️. Also, got skisuits from that same place where you guys got them. Loads of love to you 🙌🏻
