I think my top 3 are Change on the Rise, I'll Get By and Aberdeen. I love his solo work more. I love it more than Pentatonix. I can't wait to see him in concert again.

Definitely prefer Avi’s solo work! He is brilliant at writing and arranging, and what’s not to love about that voice?! 😍 He uses all of his range as a solo artist, so prepare yourself for the unexpected! Change, Chains, Get Down, The Summit, When I’m a fool (sunset sound version) all show off his low to high range, and are some of my favorites. Many of his songs don’t have those basement notes, though. Avi writes in the folk/Americana genre mostly, but he does have some southern rock tunes as well. For something completely different, check out his latest release “Healing”. Super powerful but opposite of this one.

It has to be Avi all the way! I have largely stopped listening to PTX now - since he left they have gone in a direction that I don't care to follow. Avi brings a sublime voice, wonderful song writing, and great musicality to his solo work but more than anything else, he brings sincerity. He doesn't make music to be popular or make money - he has something to say. There is an Avi song for every mood but always with meaning. Please continue your Avi journey! For a complete contrast, try his latest release 'Healing'.

I clicked on this reaction when I saw you were listening to Avi Kaplan. He has become my favorite artist. I loved him with PTX, but they have gone in different directions, and are now both doing well. I enjoyed PTX, but Avi's music touches my heart and soul like no other. I can recommend "All is Well -- 7 Layers Session," and "When I'm a Fool -- live at Sunset Sound," but seriously, you can't go wrong with anything that Avi does. His music is amazing.

Loved it when you mouthed "Wow!" ~ { more than once!} I have been happily following Avi's solo career, even got to see him in concert in '22 ~ He is so warm, humble and talented, it was one of the best shows that I have ever attended! It is difficult to put Avi's music under one heading ~ it's a folk, country, blues, uniquely Avi mix . Three songs that can recommend for starters {usually this powerful one !} are his newest release "Healing" with his talented friend Daniel Ellsworth on piano , it's a song that the world needs right now! ~ His beauty set to music in "Avi Kaplan, All Is Well, 7 Layers Session # 126" just a man and his guitar in an ancient church ~ Then his jamming "When I'm A Fool, Live at Sunset Sound" with Shooter Jennings and crew~ All as different as they are beautiful! Just subbed hoping for a lot more Avi reactions ~ Enjoy the journry and Thanks!

And I most heartily agree with her assessment of Avi's show she went to. I went to 3 un 2019 and 2 in 2022, and I would say that those 5 shows rank in my top 10 I've ever been to in my life, and that includes The Beatles last concert and Simon & Garfunkel.

I totally agree with you, this is powerful, and I’m so glad that you have embarked on a journey with Avi’s music, you won’t regret it. His songs are very eclectic, I often say that he’s creating his own genre, and I call it Avicana. Suggestions for more songs “Otherside”, “When I’m a fool”, “I’m only getting started” and “I’ll get by”. Plus all the rest… Subbed to follow your journey with this incredible singer and songwriter.

This song was Avi’s announcement to the world that he was back after a (required) two year leave from music. He almost left music for good after PTX, but came roaring back with this one. Yes, the “change” was not just in him musically but also personally.

Powerful is a great description of this song! This is Avi's battle song, declaring that forces within and without can not stop him from making music he loves and needs. Others have given great suggestions. A little information...Avi has a band when touring, but on recordings, all vocals are Avi harmonizing with himself. Anything live, his band does background vocals. Subbed for more Avi, cheers!

A bit late response. But I suddenly saw this and had to respond. Because how amazing is Avi? He is magical, he is peace for me. In my opinion the best solo singer, because listen to his voice. So unique, so beautiful with diverse ranges. This song is so powerful and I think it can only be sung by Avi. His emotions, his feelings flow through the song. My favorite song, although his other songs come very close. I listened to PTX because of him, but then I discovered his solo projects and saw him sing at Home Free (where I thought he fit in much better). After that I very rarely listen to PTX anymore. I hope he comes to the Netherlands again soon for a performance, because I couldn't make it last time.

​@@dorrit_rosen I'm doing my best. Currently my content creator goals for this year are: 1,000 subscribers on the Twitch KZbin channel, 15,000 subscribers on this channel, 1,750 followers on Twitch, and to save up enough for a down payment for a house

Avi did not want to leave PTX but he had a complete breakdown and had to leave. It has taken him all of these years to heal and literally had to take 2023 off because of his heavy 2022 European, American and Canadian tour. Another part of his breakdown was because his mother was having a cancer relapse and the group was so busy, he could not get away to be with her. He was being pulled in too many directions and not rest for 6 years. He has a band he uses when he is touring. He has a cabin on over 1000 acres of land deep in the forests and mountains of Tennessee and is quite the loner. He writes his own songs and does not draw huge crowds which he likes. The Avi you saw with PTX was a facade. A man being controlled by the group to act and behave a certain way. He has just released "HEALING" as a single and will be releasing his newest EP this year. He is the brainchild and co-founder of A Capella Academy, a youth choir which meets once a year. They come from all over the world to meet for several days. Also, there were so many requests from L.A. to form an A Capella group there, they have opened up that portal as well. Rob Deitz will be directing that gathering. The third founder of A Capella Academy is Ben Bram whom you may know from being an arranger for PTX, Al three men are highly talented musicians. Avi is actually a classically/operatically traind Basso Profundo. All of the back ground notes you hear on this video are his voice.

I mean when you do something like that year after year and it's not your main passion, it can get to you. I don't know if he's ever said out right that he's had enough with Christmas songs, or how he feels about them

@@AceofBadeReacts since leaving PTX he had only performed 1 Christmas song twice (to my knowledge) and it was only a kind of an apology for 2 shows (Houston and Dallas) having to be rescheduled. He sung O Holy Night in a country and western feel and its gorgeous.
