Sorry for your loss. I lost my great uncle who did three tours from 1945 to 1972 from tuberculosis. He was in Army but I don't know what war. He was all over U.S. & Germany. WWII ended in '45. I have all of his papers, insignias, flag & honorable discharge. Pics too. 🙂

I am a US Marine from 1987 until 1995. Serve with second Marine division out of camp lejeune, field artillery. Desert shield and desert Storm. Thank you for the support you give us. Without good people like yourselves we would have nothing to fight for. And thank you for the men and women who keep carrying on the missions we had to do. Semper Fi! I suggested this song awhile back and I'm so glad you played it especially on the 4th of July. 🇺🇸 When I first heard the song it gave me chills. It hit all of the emotional buttons. The words are very powerful! A side note: this singers wife has been battling stage 4 colon cancer. She's only 41 and has three young children and this family is battling their own war against this devastating disease. I am a blue collar guy, a painter. I was painting Coffey’s neighbors house out here in Cali. Well, Coffey came out of his house, heard Me listening to country music, came straight over and talked to me for 10 minutes. Straight up great guy. When I told him that I had spent 8 years in the Marine Corps, he put one hand in mine to shake hands, and one hand on my shoulder. He said thanks for my service and he meant it. I will never forget this dude. Never bragged, totally humble. Side note, I really enjoy these guys reviews or reactions

Every November 11th, I'll wear a cap, vest or satin jacket to let everyone know that I served. I used to hide it away, not because I was ashamed, but because I didn't want to be perceived as one of those guys trying to get free beers because I'm a "hero". I'm no hero, but I knew a bunch of them. I don't hide it anymore. I don't wear it for my glory, I wear it for the boys with whom I served. Those guys were heroes. And God's glory. And every year, I invariably am told, "Thank you for your service." But I don't own those either...they belong to my brother Bobby who served in the 173rd in Vietnam and came home alive but broken, and my cousin Freddy, who didn't. But I smile, drink my free coffee, remember the faces, the places and the names and politely say, "It was my greatest honor to serve my nation and you, but... ...if you really want to thank me, then be the kind of person worth dying for. And teach your children to be honorable and brave." You two cats are frosty, man. Keep it chill.✌

This song is so hard for me to listen to. My brother is in the Navy. He’s been stationed in Japan for 3 years, deployed 4 times and I haven’t seen him since he left due to COVID. It’s hard to talk to him since he is 13 hours ahead of us. I’m so broken! This song helps me get through the hard times. Big fan of Coffey especially for what he did for those soldiers families! U.S. Army OIF 19 Kilo here... I have personally seen the flag waving in the aftermath of IED's, and seen those bursts through the night silence and I knew then as I know to this day what it means to fight for your freedom when so many want to take it. So many people have no idea what it really feels like to have something you'd be willing to die for, but so help me God, that flag will lay on my body before it lays on the ground!! Love the reaction fellas. Keep that energy, keep that national pride! We Americans are all we got at the end of the day. Also, as I side note, I lived in Danville, IN for 11 years.
