Baring in mind, the guitar player Tony Iommi lost the tips of his fingers in an accident when he was young. Then he made fake ones out of rubber and became one of the greatest players of all time. And to top it all off, he’s a fellow lefty player 💪🏻💪🏻
@jasonlmeadows

And don’t forget because of the new finger tips he had to change the way he tuned his guitar, thus creating the signature Black Sabbath sound and thus the sound of heavy metal!

They’re telling a sci-fi story in a song, unique to any musical genre at the time. The story is about a man who sees a bleak future of mankind being destroyed. He travels time to warn humanity but is turned to steel (an Iron Man) in the process. As he tries to warn people of the coming doomsday they ignore and reject him as a monster and is ridiculed. The Iron Man then in anger proceeds to destroy civilization, and the people who rejected him, realizing he was the very doom he foresaw and tried to save humanity from.

My cousin introduced me to this genre, which back in the day wasn't exactly popular with Latinos, but explained to me that I should Never let someone define my taste in music by the color of my skin or ethnic background. Happy I listened to him or I would have missed out on some great music, musicians, concerts, etc. Happy this generation pushes the boundaries set up by society 👊😁😎🎸👩‍🎤 PS, when you're at a concert, you can't help but get caught up in the hype, it's loud, exciting & flipping awesome!!!!!

Thank You, it's nice not being alone cuz I'm older & only white people were ever at those concerts, but it never stopped me. + Love all kinds of music too; HED PE, Bruno Mars, everything 80's, Prince, but at heart a rock chick👊🥰😎

This Black Sabbath song is a personal favorite of mine it’s called headless cross and believe me when I tell you it is a heavy-metal masterpiece. Just everything about it is just pure bona fide bad ass heavy metal with dark lyrics, lots of atmosphere to it and great guitar work by the late great Tony Iommi.

Yes, Black Sabbath are without a doubt the greatest metal band of all time. And most people actually credit them with creating the genre of metal itself. Great metal back in the day…. The 60s went from bubble gum pop to heavy metal. Amazing time. Ozzy, of course, brought all kinds of controversies with his destructive behaviors, addictions and insane vocals. He was always in trouble, finally getting replaced by Ronnie James Dio. Dio invented the metal hand sign🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻. His best with Sabbath was Heaven and He’ll. Ozzy’s solo career in the 80s, I think, was his best. Scorching hits into the 2000s. Later his years of debauchery and addiction caught up with him and his health in recent years has not been good. But he sure is entertaining. His son Jack, is a paranormal investigator and Ozzy and Sharon appear on his TV shows often. That family did one of the first reality shows. Bottom line… his voice is distinctive, he always had the best musicians around him in Randy Rhoads and Zakk Wylde, good songwriter but he is just crazy. Aren’t all geniuses crazy?
@trajectoryunown

Ozzy is an enigma. The dude practically speaks his own language and is barely functional, yet he can still rock a stage. Metal never dies.

@@trajectoryunown actually that’s not true. The tv show he does with his son and Sharon, he is quite lucid. He speaks and acts intelligently with good memory, clear thoughts and actually has a great sense of humor. He has a really thick accent that makes it hard to understand but it really gotten better. I can understand every word. Check it out. He does have Parkinson’s but you can’t visibly tell. He had trouble walking and can fall easily so he has a healthcare person on set at all time to help him get around. He is in his seventies. He did abuse his body for several decades. He is paying for it now.

This music has to be put into context of the time it was released, flower power and the peace / folk music movements were in full swing - just mindblowing at that time, Sabbath were like aliens visiting from the future, their music was far more advanced than anything around at the time and it is timeless.

True pioneers of music. If they are not the best, they facilitated the best by serving as the foundation for all others to build upon and there is an inherent nobility to that function. The stones that form the mountain's foot do not think themselves better than those on the mountain's peak, neither do those on the mountain's peak think themselves better than the stones that form the base.

This track was featured in the Marvel 'Iron Man' movies (c'mon... HAD to! 😂) ...Geezer Butler (bass) of Black Sabbath said he hadn't heard of Iron Man (the Marvel superhero comic) when he wrote the lyrics; he was inspired by old sci-fi movies depicting giant robots destroying everything 🤖(Tony Stark 'Iron Man' first appeared in 1963 in comics, got his own comic series in 1968) 'Iron Man' was one of the first few tracks Black Sabbath had written between 1969 and 1970 which made their first 2 albums in 1970 - 'Black Sabbath'... and 'Paranoid' (which featured 'Iron Man'... 'War pigs' ... 'Paranoid'). The first Black Sabbath record did so well in the UK that a bidding war broke out in the US for the band, and they signed w/ Warner Bros. Records... Sabbath arrived in the US in 1970 and started a tour on the East Coast in a club... and by the time they arrived at the West Coast, the record had taken off and they were playing the L.A. Forum. 'Paranoid' was released that same year and it went to #1 in the UK...#13 in the US charts, selling 4 million copies to date. Ozzy Osbourne still performs 'Iron Man' in concert as a solo artist, along w/ 'Paranoid' and 'War pigs'.
